Harnessing that Cancer/Capricorn Balance – New Moon & New Phase in Motion
With the Solar Eclipse New Moon in Cancer and yesterday’s magickal Friday the 13th, I was feeling another influx and opening of opportunities present itself. Cancer really has us paying attention to our emotional and psychic sensitivities around matters of home, heart, nurturing, creativity, compassion, and feminine energy, but also learning to keep that all in Capricorn check so that we aren’t giving our energy and power away, we learn highest use of boundaries, true responsibility, and courage and fortitude to support healthy vulnerability that can be evolutionary for self and humanity and help you to take action that leads to manifestation of dreams, goals, and intents for the highest good. We’re definitely working on creating new foundations in all areas of life and the New Moon encourages birthing new things over and over with each cycle. There’s always a window of opportunity and it’s never too late to make changes – it starts with choice. New Moons are great for planting seeds of the new, and when you commit to something during the window of its energy you really help to fuel and solidify maximization of that energy.
I found myself the last couple of days really multi-tasking and honing in on more closures, new beginnings, and clearing my plate as well. I really felt that multi-dimensionality kick in, as my mind was expanding and at times exploding with all the levels of complexity it was journeying into simultaneously. I definitely felt like I was getting a brain workout in a good way, as I traveled different paths of thinking, focusing, perspectives, and potentials.
I also was working with that courage and vulnerability I spoke of, as my book journey ignited phase 3.
This all synchronously finalized yesterday on Friday the 13th and in the New Moon energy, or rather, it all ignited, as I officially committed and signed the client agreement with my editor. Things went into motion last weekend, but she was away on vacation and everything aligned us when she got back for it to fall as such.
So, this is an evolutionary igniting of taking my new step of responsibility and committed action with my heart project, as well as fully investing myself to see things through – definitely that balance of Cancer and Capricorn energies in acknowledging both my vulnerabilities and strengths, and supporting a balanced and well-thought out plan of responsible and serious action.
I also spent a good portion of the last couple of days doing bookkeeping on Quicken – this is all VERY new for me this year – for Dave and I and our shared work together, which was a big project and hones in on my Cancer/Capricorn balances with its focus. Another expansive venture for me that exercises my brain and capitalizes on my strengths, while also developing my weaknesses. Whew!
And synchronously, the last of my two massage tables was sold yesterday to the perfect person. They both went to perfect people, actually. This closing out my Reiki teaching journey and the in-person sessions I once used to offer.
Synchronously, also, Dave sold his guitar on the same day. He had two, and decided only to keep one.
We both had really nice people come to get them who were both so aligned and we both ended up talking to for a while. Dave’s went to a wonderful family of a man and his really sweet 14 year old and wife, and mine to a really lovely soul I would never have met if not for this. She and I had a lot in common. We both had tattoos all over us, she does massage and other body work, we both are writing a book, she also just got an editor (and actually had offered to refer them to me, but I’d just signed with mine), and we said we should hang out some time. Gotta love alignment!
So phase 3 is in full swing and while it is going through its extensive editing review, I’ll be focusing on other aspects to prepare for more phases to come.
In the meantime I will also enjoy a little different creative focus with the Magick Crystal Wand commission and my own staff this week. I have 2 more Mystery Magick Crystal Wand commissions remaining. I only plan to work on these over the next couple of weeks, so please try to get in any orders, as after that I’ll not have a window anymore.
Some people who haven’t seen my wands were curious, so here is a link to the first batch I channeled. I went on to create several more custom ones after that, but they are in individual posts and were much more complex, larger pieces that are not part of this offering. You can search my blog if interested in seeing more. This link is just for an idea, but each is unique to the wood and the inspiration I feel come through when working with it:
And here is the link where you can order one of the two remaining wands-to-be:
Crystals, Mystery Wands, Reiki Healing Attunement Zappers & Workshops
In this same post I was offering other things, but the only remaining is the last two wand commissions I mentioned.
All of the crystals have found new lovely guardians – thank you so much! – I will be packaging them up safely this weekend (which takes time) and shipping off either Monday or Tuesday depending on my time window Monday between two engagements.
The workshops still have space, but the Fall Equinox is getting close to filling. There may end up only being 2 spots remaining soon.
Reminder these are my last workshops I’m teaching and the first and only co-teaching with sweet, magickal Laura.
I plan to bake a cake this weekend – one I’ve been feeling the last week or two, which will be a vanilla lavender cake (perhaps with another twist too, but we’ll see what comes to me). I’ll be using my fresh lavender from the garden for this, which is what inspired me. I’m so loving the smell of fresh lavender and cinnamon basil blossoms right now in my kitchen that I made a sweet little arrangement of in a tiny vase.
I have some new flowers and succulents to plant too.
Will be getting outside as well for sun and exercise.
There was a lot of hard work going on the last couple of days, so its time to kick in some serious play. 🙂
All to continue experiencing greater balance and inner harmony and peace.
So, yes, it’s important to nurture ourselves with those Cancerian things – for me the creative infusion of some fun projects to shift focus, making a nurturing cake that I love so much, giving back to Mother Earth with some Nature time and tending to her blossom and plant children around the home and home garden, and nurturing others with some Reiki Healing Attunements, as I’ve already put into motion one for myself and Dave.
And, key to remember our Capricorn aspects – for me this is implementation of business minded focuses, action-oriented step-by-step, patient processes, courage and confidence in what I am creating, putting into place supportive structures for long-term goals, and persistent focus to see things through for the highest good of all concerned.
All of this helping me to feel most essence aligned and helping to create greater harmony within and without.
A Three Hour Tour, Cappy Energy & My True Song
It’s been incredibly fun and oh-so-good getting back into our outdoor groove again now that house renovations are finalizing. This has meant bigger outings and extra vigorous trekking, which has increased with excitement by fresh snow recently. I’ve always loved Winter, especially since I didn’t get to enjoy a true snow and four seasons, living in Southern California most of my life, but I’ve always really not liked all those layers and found myself bored with the usual winter wear (and hiking gear in general). I’ve mixed things up a bit here and there, but this year I vowed to make Winter (especially) fun and to reflect the inspiration and feelings it brings up in me that mirror my inner child.
Hence, you’ve been seeing a lot more unique colors and joyous vibes coming through my own unique style that showcases my heart on my sleeve – literally! No reason not to be all warm and giggly inside and out and to share with Nature how she makes me feel, even if she’s showcasing a white gown.
After all, they don’t call it a Winter “Wonderland” for nothing!
Trekking in the snow is a lot more effort (at least 2x’s as much and sometimes 3x’s if really deep snow and lots of elevation climbing is involved). So, where you might do more miles in the other seasons, less miles can equal the same in Winter.
That said, we’ve recently upped our game and took on the snow with vigor, doing 5-8 miles at a time.
You saw our recent snow shoe hike where we met up with our favorite little tree, which we named Tiny Tim after Cosmo’s nickname and our enchanting more tame terrain hike.
And yesterday it was a snow hike extravaganza up to High Meadows!
I’d like to call this “the snow hike we didn’t know we’d be doing” that ended up as an 8 mile adventure climbing 1470 feet.
It was a three hour tour into “beyond sunset” without the ship wreck, but was filled with giggles and enchanting nature surprises.
Our group made me the deciding factor to choose between either the easier route at the fork or the longer climbing route.
The “cappy” me (Capricorn mountain goat) said, “let’s go up!”
And we did.
Troopers everyone was on quite the trek!
I was trying out my new mega snow hikers for the first time, which rocked! We all wore crampons, but my hardcore shoes would have totally taken on all of it without them. I don’t know if it was them or if I was just on fire, but I conquered this climb and hike like never before and even better than in the warmer weather, which is quite something with snow and the increased amount of energy and effort this takes.
Or, maybe it was simply my “cappy” go-get-em attitude that’s been anchoring in more.
Another change I’ve been noticing is how hot I get when I’m in active mode. So much so I have learned not to layer up like crazy because I end up sweating and very uncomfortable. So I wear lighter layers and ones that will leave me the most comfortable. I actually had a tank top under my sweater this time and that suited me just fine! I’m usually the first and many times, the only one stripping off layers.
I feel like this increase indicates an increase in the energy I am channeling within and perhaps that is being mirrored in my dying cell phone – this time the battery is blowing out, which is why most of the photos recently you see are taken with Dave’s cell phone or Sharon’s (in the case of this post) because my cell phone dies and is useless anymore. I’ll be either getting a new super-charged battery to match my own inner energizer bunny battery within, or a whole new more robust energy one that can handle things and not poop out.
In any case, I’m noticing a lot of shifts energetically that are reflecting in physical and outer changes, as well as a “more me” embodiment inside and out than ever before, which includes the child and otherworldly me who is just overtly expressive of sharing my frequency with joy.
And speaking of that joy and oh how Nature brings out the best in me.
Moss and me = Faery weeeeee!
Loved this little moss, lichen, and icicle enclave we stumbled upon up the climb.
It was SO magickal!
And it was so me!

Capricorn Full Moon Insights
This Full Moon has a special place in my heart because of its being in Capricorn…an energy I’ve been working on diligently since my North Node, Ascendant and Mars are all in Capricorn. For me it speaks to the life shifts I’m integrating, but it also speaks to a collective energy needed, especially with healers, empaths, “light workers” (as people call them), creatives…or anyone who has lived in martyr or victim roles most of their life. This Full Moon in Capricorn speaks to fortifying those personal boundaries and creating healthier relationships with others in all ways, including the relationship you have with yourself, the past, and the ancestral lines you carry within your DNA.
I’m reminded of Astrid with this Full Moon and how she, too, is mirroring this shift like mom and the collective, into deepening of her true power, as she heals from the past, understands the triggers that bring her to defense, and roots more in the trust of self and the love she consistently now has to support her into her empowered wholeness, so she can blossom like crazy.
This is a time for keeping ultra present and aware of rising and displaced and exaggerated emotions, anger, jealousy, fear….if you’re feeling triggered look within yourself as to what that’s really about and what you’re really upset with. It’s very easy to point fingers and lay blame on others and it’s very easy to self-sabotage so that we can avoid the things that would be most supportive for our journey, but scary to entertain.
Reactions are not only likely unconscious fears acting out, but also aren’t based on the reality being put forth even by the other person triggering you because they have their own stories that shape the way they are acting as well.
This again is shadow work…something everyone likes to talk about, but very few truly understand and are actually working with.
If something has been hidden in your life by yourself or others, the Full Moon can help shed truth on the matter, but be willing to embrace that revealing when it shows up, otherwise greater lashing out and reactions will only continue to mask what’s really at the core of things.
Take steps back, spend more quiet time, or time in nature to root and ground yourself more, recharge with the plants and trees, and remove yourself if necessary from harmful or potentially harmful situations until you have a better grip on things and your defensive emotions.
You can either give away your power or be empowered. It’s up to you.
The old is continuing to crumble and Capricorn assists you in taking greater responsibility in your life, rather than displacing that and continuing with old patterns that are no longer sustainable for ultimate, collective well being.
Capricorn also represents structure and so we’ll be asked to rework and rebuild new structures that are strong, yet flexible, and do not carry the load of the past with it.
So yes, transformational shifts on large scales are happening, which includes literal and symbolic deaths of everything we’ve ever known in order to be more authentic and in alignment with current frequencies.
I recently just finished a big 2 week fast and cleanse that was literally like shedding layers of snake skin in not only losing all the old in weight, but also reinvigorating my cells on a molecular level so that they had time to detox and dispel, rest, and then rebuild.
This is what we are going to see more of and what this Full Moon is illuminating a need within us to do whether we like it or not.
You must tear down the old foundations in order to truly build a fortified new.
Power is increasingly being something to exercise with utmost consciousness and to balance in ways that both leave us empowered, but also empower others rather than power over others or have us acting out of inauthentic power.
Goats are amazingly agile, versatile, curious, and inventive, have incredible balance, are committed to the journey, are patient and persevering, don’t let any obstacle stand in their way of continuing toward their goals, keep climbing and reaching for new heights no matter what (even if its outside their comfort zone), know how to nurture and feed the soul, are intuitively guided, and exercise wise use of trust and responsible independence.
Let us learn by Goat’s example and ride this transformative energy with greater awareness.
A Few General Perspectives That Could Be Effective To Implement While Working Towards Goals
I was revisiting some key things with my North Node focuses and while they are linked with the sign mine is in (Capricorn), they also felt to be collectively key regardless of what sign you have, for ways you can approach your life, intents, and choices from a healthier and more effective perspective. This goes for any of the signs in the zodiac, as we have all of these energies available to us to use in their most effective and healthy ways, which equates to holistic well being and wholeness. But for sake of this post, since many of you are in the midst of working on bringing your dreams and path into manifestation and question or wonder about some things you could shift in your life, these are just a few general themes that could be worth implementing. Perhaps in upcoming posts, I’ll take on other signs to share ways to more effectively utilize and implement their energies.
They include:
When faced with a dilemma of whether or not to engage in something or invest yourself and time into, ask yourself if it will give you a full sense of self respect? If yes, go ahead and do it and you’ll be the true definition of successful and satisfied with it without regrets. If no, rethink your position.
Rather than focus on the things that haven’t gone your way in the past, which paralyzes you from doing anything in the now, focus on the past successes you HAVE had and release the past emotional baggage that you’ve been carrying that tries to deter you from recognizing your abilities and achievements.
Focus on ways to take back your authentic power, rather than giving it away to everything else and everyone else but you.
Stop procrastinating and just do it, with the trust in your accumulated experience and wisdom you’ve worked so hard at and gained through personal growth over the course of your life/lives.
Make balance your focus – not extremism. This includes knowing how to both self-nurture yourself, but also to take stronger command of your life with boundaries and tough love when needed.
Be wary of isolating yourself too much and find ways to connect. Be that with nature, animals, spirit guides, and/or with like-minded souls, as this will not only provide inspiration and cultivate presence to reflective messages, but also potentially provide co-creative opportunities and also strengthen your position in knowing others are right there with you, if in fact you’ve felt alone. Being able to thrive independently is valuable, but knowing how and when to work with others can be effective for pooling resources and gifts, challenging you to greater heights, deepening your compassion, and understanding your unique thread in the collective tapestry.
Cultivate a sensibility about yourself and an “in-charge” position.
Actively pursue your mission rather than talking about it, continuing to question it, and creating self-sabotaging illusions to keep you away from it. You will succeed IF you fully go for it and immerse yourself, your gifts, and your self trust into it.
Embrace greater responsibility in your life, rather than blaming others or relying on people for the things you want and need for yourself, and step up to your highest potentials, rather than keeping yourself small, hiding your gifts from others, or shying away from who you really are and what you are here to do.
Cultivate discipline to stay focused, determined, confident, resourceful, and not wasteful of your energy and time.
Engage self-control when needed and full-steam-ahead when called for. This goes back to balance and intuiting how to keep the perfect equilibrium that will maintain your energy and keep you on track to the ultimate achievements you are working towards.
Learn how to be a good manager of yourself and maintaining organization for greater clarity, while engaging your intuitive nature to step into those flows of alignment, as well as to understand others so you can be better at listening to and recognizing their gifts for optimization and harmonization.
A Personal Year Review & Insights for Harnessing Upcoming Energies
As we near the end of the year and come upon some powerful energies this month that will be assisting our transition into a collective new dynamic for the coming 2017, I wanted to reflect a bit upon my own life, share vulnerably on these changes, and how some of this has played out for me to provide a perspective on some ways to utilize energies. I know it’s been a challenging year for many and I went through some of my own mourning with losses, yet they were in actuality reflections of the new being confirmed in arrival.
While collectively 2016 was a closure year numerologically holding the vibration of #9, for me it was actually my personal beginnings year, as a #1 since my birthday. So, coupling that with the collective, I was able to reclaim so many parts of myself, embraced the value of my individuality, taking action on supporting my needs and personal sovereignty, reviewed much and ended an era in my life, literally went through a rebirthing, and brought forth more of my truth I desire creating with from here on out, as I weeded through it all.
This included eradicating the old definitions of many things, including leaving behind the idea of “service” for a life of “being” for the highest good of all concerned.
For almost the first two months of 2017, I’ll share being in a #1 year with the collective, but come my birthday on 2/26 (a number I have seen in wild, nearly daily abundance this year as I’ve been rebirthing) I will step into the energy of a #2 year, which will bring me very deeply into a sacred feminine place that my sacred male I’ve been working on this last year, will be supporting.
A time where I listen completely within and support with action what moves through me. A time also when inner knowing aligns me with personal timing regardless of what others are doing, understanding when to make moves and when to wait. A time of heightened intuition, psychic energy, prophetic dreams, telepathy, and inner peace as beingness.
While things may appear to slow down since more is done within or in developmental phases this year for me, there will be significant movement forward and progress unfolding – all supported also by the collective #1 year.
The year for me will be focused on relationships of all kinds – the one with myself and my parts, with friends and beloveds, with business relationships, with life at large, and with All That Is. A time of collaborations, cooperation, and greater compassion that understands and values everyone’s differences.
It will be a year focused also on my own sense of reality and fine tuning that amidst a world of many other realities that my sensitivities will navigate me through in alignment with what I’ve learned in my #1 year about who I AM and knowing my boundaries more.
My inner will surface more than ever on the scene.
And this makes complete sense, since I am very focused on new creations right now that I’m being guided to bring forth and that speak to my deepest passions and essence. So it is all coming from a very deep place within me.
And here’s a little review on how my #9 and #1 year brought me here, to give you an idea of how this process has translated for me.
In brief, during my #9 year I literally felt walls closing in on me. I was left uninspired, felt trapped, knew things had passed their peak, and that everything I’d been doing had run its course, including where I lived.
Regardless of how this sounds I’ll share anyway, that I began receiving many cosmic visitations, clear messages, and an invitation to move beyond my life here if I so desired. I went through cosmic upgrades and rewiring, and understood I’d completed much more than just an Earthly cycle I’d been working on, but soul cycle in general.
I knew I had to choose and new inspiration came in that I understood would be one way I could recreate my life….in came the Magick Bus at the exact mid point of my #9 year. It took until the beginning of 2016 to fully get underway and leave Orange County altogether so I spent the end of that year moving out of our house and into the rv, selling my car, simplifying down to the bare basics and essentials I valued, and awaited divine timing that kept supporting this venture magickally into being when others had no idea how. And everything very rapidly aligned with this embrace and choice to support this rebirthing.
The little over a year spent on our rv journey during my #1 year, was a literal huge movement of energy in my life, and both reinvigorated me and literally saved my life in terms of giving me reason to choose to continue on here. But it would have to be in a 100% completely new way. And so I spent all of my time focused on knowing myself, fully immersing in nature to know the nature of me, and one-by-one let go of everything I kept understanding needed releasing.
Yet, I also richly received so many gifts – the greatest in reclaiming myself and strengthening my relationship to the purity of that above all else. In essence, raising my vibration more and more – a constant evolution I focus on and keep digging to reveal.
And again, at the half way point of my #1 year, something big took place, this time a very literal rebirthing that took me through a death cycle that washed away the old and helped me reclaim an even stronger sense of empowerment.
I’ve eluded to the incident in past posts, and while I won’t go into details of the experience, as it is much too layered and involved in complex ways I am guided not to discuss because of larger ramifications, I did have a treacherous incident one day both in a glacial river and wild deep forest where a new me stepped out of it all and has not been the same since.
One could say that the cosmic waters from which my Pisces nature is born of, were the very waters that cleansed and rebirthed me.
And I have found myself experiencing life through very different eyes, hearing with new ears, feeling with heightened sensitivities, and expanding with a deepened heart.
I am not the same and yet more so me.
I’ve increasingly made harmony with my past and with what ever and who ever comes around me and understand that from that place I needn’t fight, but hold strong to my vibration, which does the work for me.
What comes around is in alignment, or provides me the opportunity to translate what I learn in greater ways of actual beingness. And therefore things shift instantly when I put that to action and come and go as is perfect. Not as a result of hiding or fighting, but in learning to be more me, creating my own reality that allows me to perceive everything differently, and coming daily more and more from my heart.
As there’s no limit to how far one can go with that.
Struggle only arrives if working against our nature and the energetic field of experience flowing through.
And so, I am utilizing the end of this year, tomorrow’s Full Moon, upcoming Winter Solstice and Mercury Retrograde, the Capricorn energy (my rising sign/ascendant and North Node to guide the next phase of my life), and the transitions of collective energies with the New Year alongside energetic dynamics at work to strengthen all of this and support all that I have in motion into greater manifestation.
This to include my mourning process with Joy and Cosmo who have confirmed the closure of one life fully into a new one for me that has been rooting.
This confirmed again recently with Thanksgiving’s sightings of the 27 hawks and dead owl within 35 minutes, the magickal alignment of the amazing place we’re currently living in, prophetic dream sequences, and literal signs over Lake Tahoe’s portal from my view of it here that included the Arcturian symbol I wear as a sacred tattoo, rainbow portals, and shooting stars. Not to mention, the resurgence of things in a new way and the departure of things, effortlessly.
This time period will continue to clarify and ground things as I focus only on the new projects and my life path I’ve chosen to move forward with.
So I’ll remain immersed in my writing, which is like literally rewriting my life as I do in a way, and receive nature’s reflections.
Returning to Southern California for Christmas will also be like a solidification of closure with our old way of life there, as I return as the new me and we stay in a different location that actually was one we began with on our rv journey, near Malibu.
Even being here in Tahoe has reclaimed the original essence of what this place was for both Dave and I that has rewritten the history we had here and created a new reality and experience of it that is completely new from what once was – a place we both went through symbolic deaths, now providing more rebirthing to my literal one.
And that brings me to sharing about the collective energies, so that you can weave your own experiences into the unfolding realities you choose to create, while putting closure to this year.
The Gemini Full Moon (the Twins) represents the Yin and Yang in balanced harmony and rhythmical dance together and illuminates relationships with others and with the parts of yourself. It’s about sharing and communicating, as well as the day-to-day practicalities and logical curiosity. While Sagittarius brings expansion, creativity, intuition, freedom, and dream energy. This Full Moon in Gemini with Sun in Sagittarius speaks to using both sides of the brain in partnership, which will support you in being able to manifest your heart’s desires and create those extraordinary things you dream of.
Mercury has been slowing down too in preparation for the retrograde on the 19th. This offers a very powerfully transformative period to harness before the new beginnings year of 2017 begins. A time for digging deep and bringing forth your truth. And with Mercury being in Capricorn brings a personal responsibility to the forefront, and rebuilding structures, clearing out and creating sustainable, strengthened stability of Earthiness to your life from the core out.
Lots of releasing, restructuring, reclaiming, and rewriting, as you realize who you really are.
Capricorn also focuses energies on the male patriarchy, the old and new male in process of transmutation, father figures in our lives, and our own sacred male in his truest, authentic power who supports our sacred female into hers.
Capricorn begins on the 21st, Winter Solstice, which puts focus on you being the light and shining brighter in the face of shadowy turbulence. The presence of darkness and your having embraced its beauty and gifts, now can empower you into greater wholeness because of understanding and harnessing this alchemy.
The productive and healthy aspects of the masculine are highlighted now (while the old has fully surfaced into awareness) and are in need of compassion, and integrating and bringing him to the foreground in equal partnership with the productive and healing aspects of the feminine for wholeness.
Relationships are a reflection of your relationship with yourself and the work you do within.
So nurture yourself and strengthen your physical body, as it is the vehicle to bring forth all that is within you that you desire to create. It is also the reflection of how you’re cultivating your inner world, being indicative of where to makes shifts.
By listening within and being vulnerable with yourself and others, your true power will shine forth and your inner male and female parts can understand each other’s needs, which can turn reactions into conscious, partnered responses.
An amazing year of potentials awaits us all.
Climbing, Challenging, Centering & Soaring ~ Making Peace With Fear at Angels Landing, Zion
Saturday was our last day in Zion National Park and we decided to end our time there with a bang by taking on Angels Landing.
This is one of the most famous and thrilling hikes not just in Zion, but in the national park system.
It is a stunning 5.4 mile roundtrip trail with views from the top of the Virgin River and Zion Canyon below. Doesn’t sound like much, but it rises 1500 feet steeply and quite rapidly in the 2.7 miles, which for some can be quite strenuous in and of itself.
Then the last half mile is the truly gut-wrenching part, which is not for the faint of heart.
Six people have died on the trail since 2004, which indicates the need for confidence and presence.
Many will just stop at the top, where you can still enjoy wonderful views, without trekking the half mile of more challenging trail that has anchored support chains to assist you up and around the fin where you have 1000 plus foot drops on both sides of you.
In most of the literature they say the round trip hike takes 4 – 5 hours. That day I heard some people say it took them 5 1/2 hours.
Somehow we managed to do it in 3 hours, which included waiting at the congested areas along the scary parts, since only one person in a line at a time can pass safely.
To give you an idea on timing for this if you decide to do take it on as well at some point, we hiked up the switchbacks in 45 minutes to the top before the last half mile of craziness. And we hiked back down in 45 minutes after we finished the chained area.
So it took an hour and a half to do the normal trekking and an hour and a half to do the last half mile roundtrip, carefully and even with the waiting time.
But it was so worth it in so many ways for me, helping me to embrace my inner Capricorn.
I have Capricorn Rising and a Capricorn North Node, the latter indicating this is what I’m working into empowering and grounding for the next part of my life.
And that is just the energy I called upon in order to accomplish this hike, as normally it would be terribly fearful, perhaps to the point of paralyzed fear at times, and maybe not something I’d have wanted to even try.
But I have been working diligently on integrating this energy, processing and facing my fears in the way I know how to work with them, and ready to step into the next phase of my life.
The interesting thing is that my fear isn’t consistent. I have no fear of paragliding, sky diving, or flying…I go on big roller coasters and all. I love high altitudes and my desire is to live in high altitude and alpine areas.
However, when it comes to standing at the edge of a cliff or climbing something steep with drop offs, it’s a whole other thing.
I feel it boils down to self trust and feeling grounded and fully Earthbound. I’m very comfortable with flying and lightness…so for me, it has been a process to come fully into my body and ground and integrate the physical and spiritual. Something that is really balancing out more and more now for me and especially with all of the Nature time we’ve been spending and integrating the energies.
And being with the animals and deepening into the Earth experience on this adventure of ours is supporting all of that quickly.
So synchronously, every single day of the three days we were in Zion, we saw the Bighorn Sheep twice a day, which is incredible. They embody the energy of that steadfast goat/Capricorn that I have within me to embrace.
Interestingly also, at the ancient ruins in Page Springs where we stayed outside of Sedona, I had received a vision of a white Mountain Goat alongside an ancient Indian – the Rocky Mountain Goat of the alpines that is a sure-footed climber on cliffs and ice.
So I know the spirit of the goat has been with me, especially with all of the hiking and climbing we have been doing, but also because it symbolizes the energy of my new path in life.
And so, when Dave told me about this hike (he did it 26 years ago with his dad) and how challenging it was, I knew I should prepare myself.
Oddly, this day I had felt called to braid my hair, which made me feel like a Native Indian – we kept calling me Pocahontas and Sacagawea – and also seemed to connect me with my ancient roots for integrating further Earth connection to keep me grounded and call up my strengths.
I was determined to face it and so I did a lot of Reiki energy work, not only protecting myself, but strengthening myself and with intent to embody the sure-footedness of the Mountain Goat. I called upon the white Rocky Mountain Goat and the Bighorn Sheep to be with me and then worked with the fear as I have done with the skiing and the mountain biking.
I not only steadily and consistently went up the switchbacks without need to stop for a break (which has become normal now for me), but when we reached the top where the people not continuing further on to the chained steep last half mile, I was given a choice.
When we saw the amount of people trying to make their way to the top and asked how long it took some coming down, we were contemplating if it was worth going up.
Maybe since Dave already did it, he said to me that we could just as well hike the other side and see nice views without wading through that last part, or we could just do it.
He left it up to me.
That was perfect, as I got to make the empowering choice. And I said, “Let’s do it. I didn’t come up all this way and prepare myself for nothing.”
So we did.
And along the way there were a few people that did become paralyzed with fear and couldn’t move, and needed supportive help back down even from only having gone a tiny way.
I understood their fear and felt the best thing I could do for the collective pool of energy would be to work through the energy myself in order to help shift things.
And so I stayed completely focused, present, and in the moment. Once again, blocking out everything except what was only right in front of me, taking one step at a time. I didn’t focus on the drops to both of my sides, didn’t let anything around me into my experience.
But I also allowed myself to enjoy and praise myself for each part.
I didn’t try to rush. I didn’t have to stop. I kept steady, focused, centered, consistent, and present. Every step counting. Calculating the rocks in front of me and the best way my feet would securely support myself.
And yes, when there were chains, I indeed held on. But the chains were also needed to climb up and pull with your arm strength, as you pushed off with your legs. Full body workout indeed.
I really enjoyed that and got into the climbing, which took me out of thinking about the edge of the cliff I was hanging off of, or what was below.
The other thing I really appreciated was the fact that there were many others around – which also was interesting to us that so many did brave this area.
Many I’m sure had no issue with it at all. Others were likely similar to me.
There weren’t any children, as that isn’t recommended and they really can’t do it. There were mostly a younger and mid-aged group of people.
And what I loved was humanity again shining through, as everyone was working together like a team.
There wasn’t anyone to stop those coming down and up from pushing their way through.
There wasn’t anyone to coordinate anything.
And yet everyone worked together seamlessly waiting, helping, supporting, one another.
A helping hand was always outstretched to help everyone, especially in areas where you had to go around people waiting up against the stones and you were cradling the edge of the cliff to get around. There were also helping hands up and down if needed and just extended even if you didn’t. People would said you can hold on or grab on to me….no one knowing each other or afraid to be close.
So much camaraderie…so much care for one another.
That was really a gift to experience, besides the personal triumphs I was experiencing.
I won’t say I wasn’t scared, as I was, but I felt confident in my ability to do it and that I knew my process.
And I did do it. And was quite proud of myself.
Even Dave said he had fears at times with the shear drop offs and seeing people so close to at any moment falling off with one wrong move, or that others could fall off due to someone’s wrong move.
He said he remembered it being challenging, but not quite like this.
Yet, he had less fears than I to work through, so he took tons of photos of me, while I was too focused to take photos until we were at the top and once we were heading down.
I’m grateful he did, as I’ll always have these to show myself of what I’ve accomplished.
To some it may be nothing, as we all have different fears, but to me it was huge and I am very proud of myself for working through and overcoming it.
I did become that Mountain Goat and embraced my inner Capricorn a big step more on that day.
And when we reached the top to take in the view, it was as if the Angels were shining down upon us, as this amazing rainbow light was all around us when I shot this photo from our place of accomplishment – where we were soaring in our integrated embodiment of human and spirit merged and in synergy.
The photos Dave took don’t really even show how steep the edges are and how challenging parts of this really are, but they give you an idea.
I do remember on our way up that this tiny butterflies were flying around us. Ones like I’ve never seen before. They had three white wings and one yellow wing. Incredible! All of them were like this. And even a Swallowtail once made an appearance before we headed off on the last challenging half mile.
I definitely felt the support and know that we were being watched over and supported.
The views were stunning at top and all along the trail, including down below at the Virgin River.
I was feeling quite refreshed and renewed as we returned to our car…this is me beaming.
And on our way out of the park another gift.
We had seen many Bighorn Sheep, as mentioned, twice a day.
We’d seen some that morning on the way in, but I said as my intention out loud to Dave that I wanted to see them up close right by us on the road.
And so it was that that is what took place.
The Bighorn Sheep were right at the edge of the road coming down off the rocks right when we were coming through. So we stopped the car and took it all in. Some of them crossing in front and behind us and then we got out and some right next to us on the other side of the road.
It felt like they were celebrating with me and I felt like one of them.
Celebrating, Honoring and Loving the Earth Mother Energy – My Personal Journey to Integrate Balance for Grounding the New Energy
With a Mayan Tzolkin Sun Sign of Caban/Earth (Keeper of the garden of Earth) and Capricorn rising (Earth sign), I am one who has always been deeply connected with Gaia – our beautiful Mother Earth – and with all of her exquisite gifts and children she shares with us, I am both greatly affected, AND simultaneously supported, by integrating with her energies. I have devoted a partnering commitment to natural harmony with her and the Cosmos, which is the focus of much of my service I share and the basis of many of the life choices I make whole-heartedly.
Like her, I experience the earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanoes, blizzards and seasons of life that can rock my world with powerful and transformative energy. When I can embrace and flow naturally with the changes, things are far easier than if I fight or get caught up in the panics and fears. It can mean the difference between vibrant health and abundant flow or major life-shaking challenges and short-circuited life outages!
Lately life has been quite a ride that hasn’t always been very comfortable, to put it gently, and with that has come the necessity to rely on my intuition and heart guidance, which has proven to be very telling, even if at first I have had challenge listening to it. I love when synchronous reiteration comes when I ask for messages, signs, or to be led to the right support. It really helps to be able to have your feelings mirrored back, when you are feeling not quite at full throttle capacity and less than your empowered self due to temporary interference.
What I’ve been hit over the head with like Tower Tarot Card lightning is how much our lovely Earth Mother energy has been an integral force, seen or unseen, in my life. Every where I turn, earthy energies are abound and are a much needed part of my life ever more so currently. Having reached a stage of short circuiting my amped and evolving new energy, due to the huge expansion I’ve been working towards with many others, and DNA changes, the constant message that I am being reminded is the need for grounding.
I have found myself for a while now attracted to different crystals and stones I didn’t used to be, all of which are grounding, earthy and root chakra connected – like red coral and black tourmaline. I have also been drawn to all of the very earthy and grounding foods – like squash, seaweed, yams, brown rice, etc. more than others – and switching more to cooked from my usually high raw diet. I have also been enjoying more low impact exercise like easy hikes and walks on the beach, just to get out and feel the earth beneath my feet. Not to mention, spending tons of time with my little ones, especially Joy – my lop eared bunny – holding her and communing with her earthiness.
I also have felt the importance of taking extra care and attention to my physical body due to all the shifts and challenges I’ve going through and to getting medical intuitive support to understand how to better assist my overall well being. The latter really being a key and very helpful eye-opener to help make the needed adjustments to get things back on track in an even more efficient and beautiful way. Thanks Laura Bruno for your support and loving friendship!
The message in it all has been focused on the NEED TO KEEP BALANCED and GROUNDED. Integration, one of my favorite words, is so important and vital. As we progress in one way or the other we need to be mindful of the other side of the coin and to do things to keep that balance in tact otherwise you can topple over completely.
I’m so grateful to get these beautiful reminders and reiterations, as it really has helped to shift things, simply in the realization of the importance to my life this is. I tend to be an extremist and have been working so hard towards expanding myself in large ways, but the true magic comes when all of our parts are operating at optimal. The real magic takes place when we have all of our parts working with us in equal partnership.
Interestingly, I have currently been working on a new painting – the first in SO VERY long – and it is also associated with this energy. It is called “Gaia’s Gift.” And yes, what a beautiful gift Gaia is to us and what immensely valuable gifts she has to offer. I just love all of the signs that have been around me that I was following intuitively, but the real difference helps in consciously understanding how it all fits together so that every moment can be a very present and mindful one.
The photo on this post was an old painting I did for fun of Gaia, so I thought it would be fun to post it, while I’m transitioning into a new creation of her as we speak.
My parents are visiting right now from Reno and I can’t tell you what a gift it is to have my mother with me. It is almost like having a real vacation in my home because she treats me like a guest in my own house. How grateful and lucky I am to have her. And what beautiful timing amidst all of this beautiful Earth Mother energy, which my mom possesses most lovingly. Having Virgo rising, it is no wonder she is quite the epitome of a nurturing earthy mother.
And I will be off to Reno in just a couple of days! Reno has always been a very grounding and healing place of stability for me and I cannot wait to return there, but especially to my beloved Lake Tahoe to really take in the needed earthy energies of her magic. I look forward to sharing this experience with my dear girlfriend and new partner on several new creative offerings we are collaborating on, Allison Jacobson. Will be fun to see things through her eyes and I sense some new friends will be coming through on this journey. Not to mention inspiration from the earthy recharging that is much welcome and needed.
Yes, I am in deep celebration, honor and LOVE for Gaia and her beautiful Earth Mother energy that is so powerfully supportive to us all. It is so vital to our shifting new energy, to be in communion with her even more than we ever have and in deeper ways than ever before.
Cancer Full Moon – Rebirthing the You and the We in Harmony
We are approaching the first Full Moon of 2012 (Sunday, 1/8 at 11:30pm PST and Monday 1/9 at 2:30am EST/7:30am GMT) and instead of waiting until the actual day of the Full Moon, I thought it might be good to share info about the energies ahead of time, since the moon’s phases and cycles are felt in culmination and then peak, and even several days after. This way you can focus on and understand things unfolding in your life and how you can better empower yourself in the processing and integrating of energies. If you’ve set intentions on the New Moon then the Full Moon is a good time for releasing them out to Spirit, as it magnetizes their potentials. This is an ideal time for taking those courageous and exuberant steps forward on the path of action in support of something you’ve imagined. This “do it” action and mentality supports an idea into reality and the magic then begins.
This Full Moon in Cancer (The Great Mother) is an ideal time to activate the core soul origin within you in order to harmonize it with your cosmic divinity and birth it into form. It focuses on the energies in opposing partnership of the Sun in Capricorn and the Moon in Cancer, which focuses on the protective, structural, nurturing and creating energies – specifically highlighting the archetypes of father and mother – with impact on our emotional and social bodies and how they interrelate.
This is a time to look at our world environment and nurture, into development, a new way of being, which will have personal and collective effects. Important focus is on learning to be wise, discerning mother and father figures in our own lives – being present with timing on offering and allowing and understanding when and what to give most productively and with understanding of what is the most responsible thing to do with the highest good in mind. Learning to love your inner child and the child within us all unconditionally and with supportive encouragement to be all that you can be, while helping to develop tools and provide the tools and heart courage to step out and share your unique gifts with the collective, as is your divine destiny.
Realizing and nurturing the unique light of you, simultaneously understanding how you are an integral thread in the collective tapestry and your piece is much needed at this time more than ever, is the message of this Full Moon energy.
Ask yourself the important questions you may have been avoiding or overlooking. Look intuitively and heartfully into yourself to receive answers. How can you support yourself better, so you can provide the most authentic and productive help to others? Everything we do is not isolated to “me” mentality. We are all connected and realizing the collective unity and approaching everything from a position of “everything that I share and am, is for the highest good of all concerned, serving both my divine gifts and heart joys while adding to the collective pool of compassionate and loving creation of a new world,” is key. Are there matriarchal and patriarchal aspects that need healing and understanding within you so that you may realize your fullest potential and your contribution to the collective table?
This is a time for innovation and courageously bold moves in the direction of your heart’s joy in partnership with loving and compassionate service to the collective. A time for nurturing balance and integration while grounding our lives and focuses on this Earth for the highest good of all.
Enjoy the journey!
