The Living Stones of Egypt
One of the greatest gifts my relationship with Egypt has brought into my life has been the extraordinary people I’ve been blessed to meet along the way. Among them is my dear friend, Egyptian Master Carver Mody Ra, whose devotion to his craft and deep relationship with the ancient stones of Egypt continue to inspire me.
Watching Mody work has only deepened my own understanding that stone is far more than something we shape. Like the temples themselves, these ancient materials carry stories, memory, and an enduring relationship with the land from which they came. In Mody’s hands, that relationship is honored with extraordinary patience, reverence, and heart.
Mody is the only Egyptian artisan carving crystal skulls and sacred forms by hand from ancient Egyptian alabaster, basalt, and other stones sourced through carefully regulated government restoration projects at Egypt’s sacred sites. These materials originate from places such as Giza, Luxor, Aswan, and other ancient temple, pyramid, and tomb complexes, where every fragment is respectfully preserved and only made available through authorized restoration work.
Each carving is individually created by hand and chosen with great care. Whether a crystal skull, dragon, or another sacred form, every piece carries its own unique character and quietly awaits the person with whom it is meant to journey.
One of the qualities I admire most is Mody’s desire to unite each carving with the soul it naturally belongs with. Rather than simply creating works of art, he approaches each piece as the beginning of a relationship. That philosophy resonates deeply with my own experience of crystals, nature, and the living world.

Our shared love for Egypt eventually led us to record an episode of my YouTube series, Talks With Crystal Skulls, where we explored his remarkable work, the ancient stones of Egypt, and the deeper relationship they invite us into. You’ll find that conversation below, along with a small selection of his extraordinary carvings.
If a particular piece speaks to your heart on Mody’s Instagram page or is in your heart’s vision to bring to life, I would be happy to help facilitate the connection. Mody offers custom carvings, flexible payment plans, and works closely with each person to ensure every piece finds the home where it is meant to be.
For the most current carvings and updates, I invite you to visit Mody on Instagram or connect with either of us directly:
