Whimsical Wednesdays ~ The Artist’s Corner: Wondrous Gifts from the Elemental Realm

Who better an artist to highlight whimsy, magick, wisdom, and harmony all woven imaginatively together, than the Earth Spirits themselves? Today’s short share brings to light how the Elemental Realm has been so sweetly showering us with surprises here in the days leading up to our wedding, and how much delight it has been to receive these generous and thoughtful gifts.

My sweet friend Mari pointed out how our Forest Portal Faeries are having a joyous time making sure that there’s a continuation of celebrations leading up, on, and following the big day – remarking on how they enjoyed sprinkling the sparkly powdered dust to create extra snowy enchantment that they know we both love.

The magickal snow seemed to enchant the garden too, as right after, my yellow lilies began to bloom right outside of my office and shared room with Astrid.

They evoke such joy, warmth, inspiration, purity and light heartedness. Seeing them makes my heart smile and believe in happy endings.

They anchor the path along with the welcoming yellow daisies in my garden and create a beautiful aura of energy in synergy with all my pink, peach, purple and white foxgloves blooming.

I have beautiful little blue faery flowers also blooming in the rock garden to the right of the lilies creating a lovely contrast.

I can’t wait until all the rest of the flowers burst with joy. I saw my first pink rose bud pop up at the same time the yellow lilies opened and all the wildflower plants and clover we seeded are all growing wonderfully too.

It’s the little things that make a difference.

The late morning before the surprise snow fall, we went on a crisp walk along the lake where I found four large geese feathers and another beautiful great horned owl feather.

Alongside the refreshing winds of change and clarity that day, these treasures were very meaningful.

There’s also continued to be a lot of new adventure hikes revealing inspiring vistas, sweet beauties, and unusual hidden things for my wondering heart to enjoy.

This included finding the largest sugar pine cone I have yet to discover at nearly two feet long from stem to end.

It’s exactly 21 inches! I thought the one I already have sitting on my desk was big, but this one towers over it nearly 6 inches more! I learned from another friend that pine cones were the first flowers so they carry ultra ancient wisdom and energy.

I looked it up and found amazing scientific information on it dating back 130 million years ago! Incredible! Also interesting is “the likelihood that a single male cone was responsible for the world’s first flowering plants owing to the elasticity of their genetic structure.

I knew some of the symbolism of pine cones, but this info really put a new spin on them for me. I even read that in 1244 BC in Egypt they found an Osiris staff with pine cone at the top entwined by serpents rising up to meet it. The pine cone is associated with the pineal gland, spiritual consciousness, enlightenment, and eternal life. To be gifted such a huge one is something else.

The largest pine cone found according to the Guinness World Record is also a sugar pine at 22.9 inches. So, yes, I’m quite in awe by this massive cone gift that now sits beside my other one on my desk bringing in the ancient wisdom and forest energy to my creative space.

Other fun finds and sweet gifts have been little faery bell wildflowers, tons of lady bugs landing on us, swallowtail butterflies dancing between us, serene lush beauty that provided a natural healing

attunement for me during a solo hike on Sagittarius’ Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, a dreamy spot

where you can swing from a tree overlooking inspiring beauty, an incredible little cabin hut

someone is building off-trail out in the middle of the forest, and a carved stump made into a mini throne/chair also found hidden in the forest.

But these Earth Spirit gifts are not just for my/our eyes alone.

Earth Spirits show up in our lives to teach, guide, nurture, heal, inspire, and so much more.

They are way-showers to self-nourishment, living in harmony, stability, and abundance, and showing up responsibly and compassionately in cocreation with all life and consciousness on Earth.

The Elementals of air, water, fire, earth, and ether are spirits that embody varying forms of energy to assist with different aspects of life. Within each Elemental family there are varying creatures, beings, tree, plant, mineral – crystals, rocks, and stones – spirits, and life forces that help us to understand our place within the rhythms of nature and this world.

We can learn and receive so much from the subtle and potent messages they bring us that ultimately fine tune us to both our Earth and Cosmic selves.

They offer us ways to feel lighter, more flexible, listen within and trust, support greater creativity, imagination and inspiration, help us to clear and balance, experience more grace and flow, learn the secrets of transformation and purification, increase our vibrancy, awaken our dynamic nature, pave a way for clearer communication with all life forms, provide soulful illumination, meld instincts with heart guidance, strengthen and ground our life force energy, and overall guide us to raise our vibration and live in greater alignment.

As we open our hearts more to all that is going on in the world, let us not forget we have powerful allies within the Elemental Realm, too, that show up in the most wondrous of ways.

Whimsical Wednesdays ~ The Artist’s Corner: Big Spring & St. Patrick’s Day Sale Celebration of the Rabbit Symbolism within Your Garden of Life

The Full Worm Super Moon of March will rise the same day as the Vernal Equinox and it is sure to create a focus of how to create more balance and harmony in your life and taking a look at every kind of relationship that affects your life, with Libra’s influence. That can even be your relationship to things, ideas, beliefs, practices, etc. that emerged through the relationship dynamics, since we’re dealing with self and others. These feel essential to harness and cultivate in order to create the reality you want to experience with greater clarity of what that means to you. This Moon has a very mirroring energy with that self and other reflection that can lead to shedding new skin after having authentic conversations around the patterns you’ve been running on.

Yesterday, I took time out to have a raw conversation with myself that led to what I described to a friend as a big purge, declaration, and release, and ended with a powerful Reiki Healing Attunement with a few of my power crystals and Astrid. I very deliberately and deeply voiced things I haven’t in such a crisp, vulnerable, and embodied way and during the hour or so of this, Astrid sat very still and held space across from me, then moved over to me and nudged my foot with activation, and went to lay next to me, as she called in support and sent energy in union with my declarations.

I felt a sense of relief and clearing to continue the momentum forward.

As an artist of life, I feel very much that life is a garden I am cultivating and having rabbits as my familiars is such a gift to wander that garden with their powerful transmutational energies.

They are my best friends, cocreators, and creative muses.

I’ve shared about rabbit symbolism before, but as we approach Spring Equinox and the Libra Full Moon, their symbolism really becomes extra potent to tap into, as you understand the connections with their medicine.

Rabbits and hares are about rebirth, balance, a kind of waking life resurrection, increased vitality, new found excitement, creative potency, regeneration, fertility of mind, body, and emotion, inspiration, prosperity, agility, receptiveness, and eternity. This symbolism manifests in associations with Springtime, the Dawn, the Moon and Sacred Fire, the Cosmic Egg from which the Cosmos is produced, the Circle and Infinity symbol, Marriage, Androgyny and Hermaphroditism, as well as Madness, Genius and Inspiration (which seem to go hand in hand). Rabbits can bring a message of nurturing your intuitive impulses and nudges from your heart and soul.

The Ancients saw them as one of the most mysterious and perplexing beings, thought to be hermaphrodites (male one month and female the next), with powers of self-impregnation. Since they reflect the idea of balance between masculine and feminine they are highly regarded as sacred, mediators of the sacred, and embodying actual creative powers of the Universe.

As we approach Spring and this repatterning Full Moon, renewal awaits you.

Everything may feel like you’re planting your own spirit garden and it’s incredibly liberating and enjoyable to choose the seeds you want to see blossom and learn what each needs to be cultivated and nurtured into fruition. All the while knowing you are Spirit in motion of being, and everything you do is a merging of this.

And if you don’t yet know what you want to be growing in your garden, this is a wonderful and revealing time to receive revelations and inspiration that uncover the seeds of your spirit’s truest calling.

Words that come to mind are surrender, balance, harmony, integrity, trust, and renewal.

We are just like energetic coils, spiraling through the cycles of our life and able to “spring” back and regenerate ourselves.

You are more resilient than you think.

What you believe and the actions you take in support of those beliefs are shaping your experience and either bucking the natural harmony of your coiled embodiment or flowing gracefully with that spiraling essence.

My rabbit spirit guides and Astrid not only share their support with me, but constantly share their support with others. I hear often how my bunny loves show up in people’s dreams and meditations and I know they actively work to support the collective – rabbit, animal, nature, and human alike – here on Earth along with many others who join them.

They have inspired me through a series of links and connections in my own life they showed me, to create this offering (below) for the special time around St. Patrick’s Day and Spring Equinox/Full Moon.

In 2008 I made a pilgrimage back to Ireland on my own to heal wounds, but also recapture the magick. Ireland held much deep grief and mourning, but also so much joy and peace of essence for my soul’s history. I happened to visit there during St. Patrick’s Day at the time and was able to revisit the exact sacred stone circles I’d been to “before.” I met many people who actively played part in my experiences back then, and in many ways, although very different, the shifts taking place now are connected to who I was in those lives. The solitude and loss reminding me I hold the power to write a different story, as I did with that sacred trip. An ending becoming a beginning.

And so much of the alchemy you create as your life can be assisted by connecting with the elemental realm.

So, between tomorrow – Thursday, March 14th and Wednesday March 20th, The Magick Rabbit will be having a one week sale focused on all mini rabbit Faery gardens to celebrate Spring Equinox and St. Patrick’s Day.

All other gardens not featured here, but still included in the sale, also each have their own story and energy that you can visit at the link above and by clicking the listing of choice.

The creative alchemy starts tomorrow. Just one way of opening new doors.

The Holiday

The Holiday – a magickal moment reminding you that taking time to recharge, nurture your needs, cultivate some sacred space, and take time off to do things you love is important. When things get “dark” why is it that we forget all of the experiences where the light shined again in our lives, or how good it felt when we gave ourselves the nurtured opportunity to have fun, explore, be creative, take a break, and recharge? If you can’t take an actual holiday, then I propose we each commit to taking a “Hope Holiday” on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, as seems most beneficial to your life and personal experiences. What does that mean? It means allowing yourself to hope and dream, creatively engaging your imagination and bringing the music of your heart into your every day, even if just for a couple of minutes of day-dreaming, journaling, or visualizing. Doing this to the extent that you give yourself permission to immerse so fully into that minute or two that your body tingles and sings from your heart with that “becoming” that takes place, as you get lost in your hopes. This isn’t to deny that you may be experiencing something very dark and restrictive feeling, as that is a valid feeling to allow yourself to explore. But it is a way to actively engage yourself into learning how to make a safe space for your heart’s desires to see the light. The more you do this, the more that part of you feels supported and begins to expand with your cultivated love, much like a garden.

Believe

Believe – a mini world of wonder that fosters an inner nurturing for keeping dreams and hopes alive. If you feel like giving up or as if you’re alone, this little rabbit will be your daily cheerleader, motivating and supporting you to keep envisioning what you desire and to know that he has your back. It’s best when we have dreams, to release them to the Universe without attachment. This can be your little sacred altar for sending your dreams and inner wishes to your rabbit guardian without attachment to outcome for the highest good. This rabbit inspires you everyday to send out a vision of what you want and to take steps toward them. He lives in a lush little world of abundance that surrounds his “Believe” house with every possibility. In front of him lies an incredible little Tangerine Lemurian Seed Crystal that assists his vision work, but just like him, do not judge their size, as they both are powerful little beings. The crystal has amazing clarity, mini rainbows, and a window (a diamond portal/timelink) that makes it excellent for personal self growth and introspection.

The Apple Of My Eye

The Apple of My Eye – speaks to that love you feel and share with a friend, loved one, child, animal companion, family member, or even the twin aspect within yourself. It celebrates divine connection and is a way of expressing how much you cherish that special one above all else. The sweet moment between bunnies captured here, reminds us to capture those sweet moments in our lives with presence, communication, expression, and demonstration. Nurturing love is what Nature does for us daily in her display of gifts she gives so freely. So can we share freely the love we feel and it is the recipe for happiness and harmony. This sweet and magickal glass apple orb mini world where rabbits, crystals and nature merge is the perfect addition to your home, office, altar, indoor garden, window sill, or hanging as a sparkly bubble of joy and inspiration for any special space and will infuse the healing properties of aquamarine into your life.

Where There's Love There's Hope.jpg

Where There’s Love There’s Hope – I think speaks for itself, but this mini world was also inspired by the relationship I have with my rabbit companions and knowing how a deep shared love with them has opened my heart wider and rekindled a new spark for life. Never give up. As long as there is even just one seed stirring out there somewhere in the world, there is hope. As long as one heart is open, there is potential. As long as one miracle happens, there are more awaiting. I carry this belief with me about everything including things like my book I’m writing, seeing the best in others, having hope for humanity, believing animals will be treated equally, and my rabbit family will be understood. What do you hope for? This sweet little world helps foster a deepening of love and that hope creates miracles. The shamrocks sprinkle faith, love, hope, luck, and well being that comes through the heart chakra and nature’s gifts. (There’s a seated Faery with two rabbit friends engaged in connecting)

Whispers in the Woods.jpg

Whispers in the Woods – is a sneak peak into the enchanted forest realms where Faeries and animals commune. It reminds you that magick is just around the corner, animals are souls too, and there is no separation of the heart. Whether you’re a friend of animals already or curious to learn how to communicate more with them and nature, this magickal little world will be a daily reminder to be more present and listen to the messages being given to you daily from all of Earth’s wise children.

Portal to the Otherworld.jpg

Portal to the Otherworld – is a doorway to the magickal. Let yourself be whisked away into this enchanted forest realm where the faerytales of your mind and heart become a reality. There is another world awaiting you when you open your heart wider – a place where magickal creatures dwell and all potentials are available to you. If you are a dreamer and want to manifest more, if you feel alone and want to feel that you’re not, if you see things others cant, if you feel like you walk in a different world than most, or even if you want to open more to the possibilities, this little world will support all of this and more. A sweet reminder that it’s alright to wander the pathways of the heart, and it’s okay if you feel in this world, but not of it. (The Faery etched hatch is the top of a tree stump portal with golden glittered stairs to descend – a rabbit hole to the Otherworld. There’s a rabbit and tangerine Lemurian Seed Crystal sitting atop the first step and a seated Faery embracing a rabbit in front)

You and Me Makes Weeeee

You and Me Makes Weeeee – speaks to friendship and that sharing life with a friend, whether that’s another person or animal, is enriching. Friendship and love has no boundaries and sometimes the most unlikely of places is where we can find a kindred spirit and lifelong companion. This inspires us to open our hearts wide to possibilities, and to welcome in support from where ever it’s wanting to come through. It also reminds us that having fun is valuable and anyone who helps you to laugh and smile more is priceless.

Day Dreaming.jpg

Daydreaming – micro rabbit garden mini world where rabbits, crystals and nature merge to remind you how important it is to create time for self-nurturing, rest, and dreaming. Don’t quit your daydream! This sweet little rabbit supports those time outs and reminds you that visualizing from the heart is an essential part of manifesting what you desire. Action upon your dreams is the other part of the equation, but you must dream first and allow yourself the space to imagine all the wonderful possibilities.

Garden of Life

Garden of Life – expresses gardening as a good metaphor for life and the cultivation of your dreams. As you plant your seeds, realize that they mirror the intentional seeds you plant in your own life and how you nurture, cultivate, and care for them will determine what blossoms into manifestation. I have found the same to be true of the caring for my animal companions and the cultivation of our relationship. Your connection with Nature in all her glorious forms will enrich, enhance, and deepen the relationship you have with yourself and what you share with the world. Garden of Life is a daily reminder to be mindful of what seeds your planting and where you’re expending your energy and time.

Gaia's Children.jpg

Gaia’s Children – reminds us that all of Earth’s children are precious and to respect and honor all of life. When we walk in harmony with nature, we align with the origins of our song and the Cosmos.

The Gift

The Gift – takes us on an enchanted journey to an intimate gathering taking place in the Otherworld. Two dear, old friends – a Woodland Faery and a Rabbit Faery – have gathered beneath the cattails among the great crystal guardians in sacred sharing. Each gives of their heart and opens their heart to receive. They are in tune with the natural cycle of abundance and know that it must flow both ways. The Rabbit Faery presents her friend with a bouquet of flowers sprinkled with her love and fragrant in deep respect, while the Woodland Faery is moved deeply and opens the channels of her heart and solar plexus with Reiki to meet her friend in that space of flow. When we are both giving and receiving from our hearts, we are engaging in the greatest gift there is. This sweet little mini garden will remind you of the things that are truly important, that giving AND receiving are both part of abundance and love, and that it’s crucial to share things today, rather than some “tomorrow” that may never come.

A Walk in the Faery Realm

Ireland 2008 255All of yesterday I was listening to one of my favorite Celtic music CD’s, “Celtic Lamentations” by Aine Minogue while I was flowing through my work day and especially while I was painting. It felt like the perfect mirroring energy for the day, my work, and even the grey clouded skies that reminded me of some of the mystical days I spent in Ireland in 2008. (I’m continuing in this vein today with another favorite CD, “A Celtic Tale” by Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna, as the sun is shining quite warmly, in contrast to yesterday)

Ireland 2008 256As I just wrote 2008, I got a huge flash of that year’s experiences, which were really potent in my life. 2008 was a big year for me in SO many ways – experiencing the passing of my twin soul Nestor, the end to a marriage, powerful healing integration that took me from being depleted to feeling optimal, the onset of major life path shifts and new beginnings in all areas of my life that continue in expanded form today, and much traveling including Ireland, England, the Bahamas, Sedona, and Peru, to name a few. Hmmm, no wonder the title of that CD seems very fitting to many things. 😉

And remembering such a powerfully transformative year holds its own significance and messages for the current energy field we are collectively moving through. It was one of my years where I demonstrated my own strength in adversity, came from the depths of nearly complete physical deterioration to rebirth, and reminded me of how resilient we are and how capable we are to shift even the worst experiences into something beautifully empowering. It also reminded me how my unwavering beliefs, openness, and connections to the “magickal realms” were my life-savers and supportive guides.

Ireland 2008 257This is the experiential season of magickal alchemy and one beautiful way to embrace your abilities with this is to connect with the elemental realm and use your heart key to walk through the dimensional doorways of experience.

In resonance with yesterday’s post by my special faery friend, Laura Bruno, who shared a short, really interesting and enchanting documentary, six-part series: The Fairy Path (you can watch them at the link and the other four parts are listed in the comment section) about faeries, I instantly was transported to some of my own enchanting moments and it called up my wanting to share a few of my photos with you from some of the places I’ve visited that aligned with the energy in the videos. These photos capture, what I feel to be, enchanted elemental and faery realms, including doorways to these other dimensions by which they/we can travel through. I strongly felt the presence of the faeries at these places, which include Ireland (a good majority of the photos are from here), Oregon, Sedona, Maui, Toronto, Tahoe Meadows, and Santa Monica.

And as you explore the images, I’ve included some beautiful Celtic music to accompany you on your journey into the Magickal Realm of the Fey. I suggest you play the music and allow it to take you on a journey as you feel into the photos for the faery energy that is present and explore what you can “see.”

magickal tree in high park, torontoThere is a whole world of illuminated wonder you can invite into your experience that has transformative healing light to share with you. The faeries have much to offer in way of teaching gifts. Some helping you to reconnect with the innocence, purity, and joy within so you can experience a more playful and lighter life. Some are genius weavers of dreams and will teach you how to weave your own new reality forms from your creative heart desires. Others may be supporting your integrative healing or helping you to empower your gifts so you can be of service in partnership with them in the healing of Mother Earth/Gaia and all of her beautiful animals and plants.

However you choose to dance with the faeries, do so from a true and vulnerable heart and you will come to experience their delicate ways of powerful awakening that will assist in clearing the illusions and veils. You will also reconnect with more of your organic authenticity and find the rhythm of your heart beating with that of Earth’s.

Everything will feel possible. All things you desire become probable, if you truly walk (or fly) in integrity and responsibility of a consciously aware and “light” foot. Believe. Be True.

Faery Stones & Crosses – Staurolite, Star Bright….

faery stonesThe first star I see tonight,

I wish I may, I wish I might,

Have the wish I wish tonight.

Like the nursery rhyme, enchantment is ours for the wishing and with the heart-full wishing comes the experiencing.

Two of my magical finds last weekend at the Gem Faire, were connected with a realm I live and love – the Faery Realm. I’m constantly amused with the synchronicity of crystals and stones finding their way to me and their beautiful timing.

My two finds are what are known as a Faery Stone and a Faery Cross (Staurolite). These two new friends are bringing extra enchantment into my experience and are making themselves at home while we reacquaint ourselves. They are enjoying my mini Quartz Faery Wand from Sedona (which doubles as a pendant) and the three of them are conspiring to bring more magic and fun into the next phase of things here for me.

hummingbirdThey are already playing their tricks, as just when I started writing this, my computer connection went out and I had to jump the connection back up. Another fun experience was when I went outside to photograph them in my Faery yard and immediately a hummingbird appeared fluttering right by the hummingbird post in the ground and when I placed my wand on the small Christmas tree we have potted in the yard, a crow appeared overhead on a post and cawed down at me. I turned for an instant back at my wand to place it on the branches, and then turned back and the crow was gone.

rv2And interestingly, this morning, right across the street was parked a lovely, large RV and this has to do with a vision I have for when the timing aligns, to be living and traveling around in one. So that was quite synchronous, as it has never been there before and its blank white outer shell felt like a blank canvas to create from. 🙂

Anyway, the yard here receives tons of small bird visits daily, hummingbirds, crows and ravens, as well as insects like fuzzy centipedes, spiders and butterflies, and earth worms abound. I found a beautiful web today on one of the Star Jasmine that was perfectly cosmic.

yardThe yard has completely transformed into a sweet enchanted haven amidst suburbia.

And these Faery friends are enchanting my experience and office right now, as I write, sitting perched against my rose heart frame of Nestor with my wand right in front of me. (Keeping them close by creates a powerful positive energy) She and I have journeyed much in my meditations and beyond in the magical realms beyond the veils.

I always love to share about the crystals and stones I find, embodying beautiful vibrational presence for the energies and experiences we are having, and this lovely Faery Stone and Cross are no exception.

I hope you enjoy learning about them and perhaps you might welcome one into your life as well, as I find them to assist in charming your life.

Staurolite:

Staurolite, also known as the Faery Cross, when it naturally occurs twinned in a cross formation, is known to be a talisman of good luck, supports stress, anxiety, fear, and depression relief, and connects and balances between the physical, astral, and extra-terrestrial planes. They can occur as more angled x’s or can embody a perfect cross – the crosses are more rare and therefore more valuable (even for such a tiny one as the one you see here). Interestingly, they are thought to be associated with the astrological sign of Pisces.

As you can imagine, their energy helps you to connect with the Faery and Devic kingdom, nature spirits, elemental beings… as well as to the energy of the Earth, nature, and all of her wonderful creatures, helping you to gain greater appreciation and sweetness for all of life. Historically, Staurolite crystals have been used for white magic to empower alignment with natural energy and are very healing, calming, centering, and spiritually grounding (as they help you connect with the electromagnetic field of the Earth). They are excellent for support with addictions (especially smoking), cultivating conservation (making you more aware of your actions and how you treat the Earth), increasing relaxation and peacefulness, helping to move energy down through the Root Chakra to the Earth Chakra and Mother Gaia (leaving you feeling safe, less fearful, and protected), soothing to your emotions and overall well-being, helpful for finding lost objects and using your time more wisely, negates a tendency to overwork and to over commit energy, enhances and strengthens rituals, and assists treatment of cellular disorders and growths, increasing assimilation of carbohydrates.

Having Staurolite with you can also benefit those close around you, as it fosters a connection to the natural world in anyone who feels its resonance.

staurolite

Faery Cross – Staurolite

Staurolite are found in Switzerland, Russia, Australia, Brazil, and the USA. The one I have comes from Russia – seems fitting with my Russian rooted name Tania. They vary in color depending on where they come from – ranging from red brown, dark brown, or brownish black in color. They are prismatic and I find mine to have a sparkly sheen. The meaning of the name comes from the Greek word Stauros, which means cross, but they don’t always form clear crosses, yet the vibration is the same regardless if it embodies a perfect cross or not.

There are many very old stories and historical tales about Staurolite and how they have been used over time. Historically, they are known to have been in use since at least the time of Christ, but to others much longer. 🙂 One story says they were used in the Crusades to aid Richard the Lionheart to heal and another says that they were first formed when the faeries cried when they heard of the news of Christ’s physical death, which is why they form in a cross.

Tales, or truth, the energy of these stones is known to be helpful for anyone who would like to work more with beings of the natural world, and to contact other beings here on Earth, including animal and plant spirits – and of course faeries, hence their name.

Interestingly, stories tell that they are also known as a symbol of Christ because of the cross within the stone and thus can help you to embrace the gifts brought through this Christ Consciousness. So they cover both sides of the spectrum of the magical and faith realms.

I love how they emanate a strong Heart Chakra energy and so they resonate deeply with bringing more unconditional love for all of life.

Faery Stones:

faery stone

Faery Stone front

Faery Stones are another beautifully magical friend that are native to northern Quebec, Canada. These “natural sculpture” calcium carbonate stones are made of fine argillaceous sand with limestone cement and were formed in permeable layers of a basin created by receding glaciers, where water, laden with carbon dioxide flowed through the rock and dissolved the limestone it contained. Then under different pressure and temperature conditions the lime deposits left in the lakes from the receded glaciers were sculpted by the waterway flows into rounded pebbles and abstract forms of natural art. They are then carried by the water and deposited along the shores of lakes and rivers – one of the main rivers where Faery Stones are found is the Harricana River (second longest in Canada). Some have small traces of prints left by microorganisms, miniature worms, or organic remains that were fossilized millions of years ago.

These smooth pebble-like stones (so inviting and comforting to hold) are each very individually unique and to the Indians that first came up the rivers and discovered them, looked like biscuits. This is the reason for the river’s name, “Harricana,” which means “river of the biscuits” in the Algonquin language. The Indians have called them Faery Stones and often carried them as lucky charms on their expeditions and the most beautiful of these stones were offerings between lovers. The biggest specimens were seen as protective and sacred and so they were given a place of honor in their homes.

Faery Stones are said to “adopt” you and act as a little helper to assist with taking care of details and providing safe, nurturing energy in your space where you can work freely both spiritually and practically. They also have a strong connection to the Earth and impart consciousness about caring for her and all living beings.

Healing properties of Faery Stones include bringing good health, prosperity, protection, peace and calming, grounding, ease depression and loneliness, release stress, dispel negative energy, thoughts, anger and jealousy, are excellent for radiation and chemotherapy patients, reduces heat from fever, helps to balance water and hot flashes in women with menopause, balances calcium in the body, helps heal wounds, bruises, and reduce inflammation, encourages friendship and love between parent and child, and lovingly helps bring back the inner child in us, making us feel happy and joyful, and focused on cherishing precious moments.

The sweet little Faery Stone that “adopted” me, to me, looks like a round little cherub with wings to the left and even seems to have a smiling face on the front along with tons of markings all over it. 🙂 And on the back, I was taken with all of the impressions left in it that look almost like Runes and encodings that are almost map-like or creating a diagram and formula.

This one seemed to jump out at me in the pile I was looking in, having been hidden under all the others. And came to me when I had returned to the Faire a second time on impulse, with only 20 minutes left before closing and left with just this and a spectacular, perfect Chrysocolla piece that is for my dear friend Jenny in Bimini, who had asked if I ever see something for her to get it. That had its own synchronous story including a Poseidon-looking man I purchased it from.

I love following my heart.

And I LOVE my new Faery friends. If you ever come across these sweet Faery stones, perhaps you too will welcome their enchantment into your life. A beautiful way to create more peace and Earth compassion, not to mention invite some magic into your daily experience.

And of course, healthy, organic practices and creating your own nature sanctuary, even if just a small area of a window sill, balcony, area of your room, home, decorated potted plant, or yard and garden if you have one, can be a way to invite the nature spirits into your life and help you tune in to that Earthy connection that supports overall well being. You will also welcome animals, birds and faeries when you create organic beauty, while keeping the environment clean and our Earth and bodies away from harm.
