Whimsical Wednesdays ~ The Artist’s Corner: Custom Commissions Versus Creative Freedom

As artists we are challenged to find a way to get our work out to others while still enjoying the process and not compromising ourselves. While everyone has a different journey with this and relationship to their work, their self-value as an artist, and the timing of their releases, not all artists find it easy to make a living at what they do right off the bat and not all artists may hit it big in having their work discovered or desired by every gallery or person. So, artists are left with wanting to be able to do what they love, not compromise their integrity, remain authentic to the style they enjoy, but also still be able to enjoy that connection that happens when someone purchases and takes home a piece of their work.

In many cases, this is why some artists may opt for offering commissions and take on custom work, as it allows them to still be an artist, while helping to support their ability to keep creating.

Some artists simply prefer doing custom work because they truly love that one-on-one connection and intimate relationship they create with the person they’re creating for and it allows them to challenge themselves with continued new subjects and ways to create.

They love the interactive quality of the work and having something new to work on every day.

For some, it’s more consistent work than trying to sell original pieces.

Then there are artists who purely love creative freedom and not having to create something someone else tells them to, not have to be concerned if it’s exactly what that person wanted, and simply love to work from that impetus of creative energy that moves through them when inspired and not on a timeline or schedule.

And then there are the artists that like a balance of both and find they compliment the process of being able to do what they love and tempers the right balance of compromise and variety, while helping them live and work as the artist they see themselves to be.

Where do I fall into all of this?

Well, having done all three levels, I find myself back in the place of truly feeling the call of full creative freedom at the doorway of my heart.

That’s not to say I haven’t enjoyed the process of commissions in the past, as I’ve met some dear souls through that work, was able to challenge myself in many ways, and did enjoy that intuitively intimate connection and relationship channel during the process of creating – this was both with paintings and sacred tattoo designs.

However, I much preferred total creative freedom and found that when, in some cases, I was being dictated by every little part of the process and was at the mercy of someone else’s feelings around something I may have spent hours working on, it really could be a very stressful process and put a damper on creativity.

I adored the times when I was handed creative license with commissions and found that those pieces came out the best.

Custom work can, in essence, have the potential to be an interruption to an artist’s flow of their own planned work, unless it truly is an artist’s joy and perhaps first love, to create commissioned pieces.

I can even remember when I created my first mural for an investment firm I worked for and several large commissioned paintings I was hired for in the beginning that I had to work at convincing the very left-brained people who hired me with proposals and long explanations of what I envisioned, supplies needed, logistics, and how long and how much it would cost, as well as having to provide a sample sketch even when I knew that the magick happened during the process of creating. I then felt like I had to stick to that plan and wouldn’t have any room for inspirational flow in the unfolding of its creation. It became too much of a business and my need to make someone understand a right brain process with left brained explanations.

The connection can potentially get lost in the translation of this.

Luckily, those paintings went really well, although were stressful and tied me up in things I ended up rather not be involved with, but the mural wasn’t as much embraced even though they agreed to my sketch.

While they liked it, they didn’t love it. I found out that it lasted only several months before they painted it over. Not a surprise, as my heart saw a potential for them that the financial people there just didn’t quite understand. They were stuck in the old ways and this new vision was a bit too uncomfortable.

I was grateful to all of them for my very first opportunities to get my business going, which ironically allowed me to quit that investment firm job in the first place, and was still proud of myself for being able to acquire some really huge projects without any resume behind me.

These experiences may not have been my perfect fit, but at the time were my perfect reflection for what I needed to learn and what I called up for growth.

Then there were the many wonderful fits where harmony and synergy were in flow.

I think this is key if you do choose the custom work.

It really depends on the individual and what feels right. It’s important to align yourself, as well as put out intentions of the type of clients you want to work with, be willing to say “no” when something doesn’t sit right, and not take something on just for the money if at all possible.

The theme of this post actually was inspired by my continuing to get requests for custom sacred tattoo design commissions and people finding me online and even sharing my work with others, which happened twice already today. Even though I’ve removed my website and these offerings, there’s no way to remove the world-wide web of your past work altogether and those phantom pages that float in the ethers, so I take it as opportunity to feel grounded in my choices and able to say, “no” with gratitude.

I think these are key things for any kind of work we do and not just as an artist.

There isn’t one right or wrong way with this, but there are things to weigh and options to look at to see what feels right and where you’re willing to compromise or not. Or in fact, what doesn’t feel to be a compromise, but maybe just a shift in perspective that can open you to more possibilities.

You may even move in and out of these choices over the course of your artistic journey.

My professional artist life began as all commissions, then turned into a mix of custom and originals, and now is solely original-based creations.

This has all moved me into the new creations I’ve been inspired to paint solely from my inner child’s joy, imagination, and love.

I had hoped today I’d be sharing the first of these little paintings with you, but Spirit has something else in mind, as this past week has been very full and so I won’t have the last two of this first group done until next week.

Astrid feels next Wednesday is the day to reveal them, so stay tuned for Whimsical Wednesdays on 12/12 – no surprise there that alignments have it falling on this day.

Until then, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

If you’re an artist of any genre, where do you find the greatest joy?

Is it in creating custom pieces, your own originals, or a mix?

Is there something you could tweak that would make your current path more enjoyable?

How do you hope things to evolve and what steps do you plan to take to make that happen?

In love and creative magick, I wish you the most heartfelt journey with your art.

The Spirit of Grey – An Animal Companion Portrait Created With Love

The Spirit of GreyI love channeling soul energy that comes through our animal sisters and brothers. It is always an honor to be able to capture the spirit of someone’s beloved animal companion and this week I’ve been working on a special commission of Grey.

Beautiful Grey is no longer on this Earth plane with us, but her spirit lives within the hearts of those she holds dear. This painting is a Christmas gift from a client to her father of the special companion that had great impact on his life.

Grey

Grey

Grey was a rescue puppy and lived in Oaxaca, Mexico with her human companion where they enjoyed the beautiful outdoors together. She was the “alpha” dog of his large property that was shared with 4 other casitas and dog friends.

Grey loved roaming the outdoors, spending time in the garden, and enjoying the mountains of Oaxaca with her human companion where she would run and play in a place called San Isidro-Sierra Norte Llano Grande.

From the moment I saw an image of the forested mountain area there that my client shared, I knew immediately the image that was wanting to come through. Of the images of Grey that I was sent, I chose this very soulful one of her as a puppy, that both shows her depth and spiritedness.

It was a welcome challenge, the image I was receiving wanting to come through for this, as it was a melding of realism with an ethereal quality that was channeling in my heart. This was to be an overlay of what I saw as two different dimensional experiences seen at the same time…where Grey once used to play, and where she still does.

Grey being the portal, bridging the two at center.

Pine Forest in the Pueblos Mancomunados

Pine Forest in the Pueblos Mancomunados – my inspiration

The butterfly symbolizing the journey of life and transcendence, as well as the shifting of one experience into another. To the Maya, butterflies are seen as ancestors returning for a visit to physicality and have a very Earth and cosmic bridging connection. 😉

Grey is illuminated by the light coming through the forest, as she seems to say, “All is well.”

I believe the way that Grey was wanting this painting to come through as, holds a symbolic message that is also embedded within it, specifically for her dear soul friend.

Her presence was a powerful part of her human companion’s healing path and it is on that “path” they walked together, that she is still guiding him.

This painting not only celebrates the life of Grey and all whom she touched, but I dedicate it to all beings that have transitioned into another experience – both animal and human. There seems to be many souls journeying these days, as things naturally shift, and to each I thank you for joining this experience with us and supporting the perfect piece of the puzzle you embodied.

And I have to mention the amazing magickal thing I noticed when I was uploading the photo to this post. After I cropped the photo and saved it to my computer, low and behold, the file size naturally is 444 KB! Indeed the angels are around big time..and one of their names is Grey 🙂

I love Grey’s name, as it is the grey areas that we could do well with opening up more to.

“Life isn’t black and white. It’s a million grey areas, don’t you find? ~Ridley Scott

The animals have a message to share with us. We need only to listen.

Dance_of_the_Twin_Flames_sm

Dance of the Twin Flames

I’m happy to announce that my latest series, Universal ARKitecture, is now available in its fullness at my website www.taniamarie.com. Having such a full plate these days, I had gotten behind on updateing my website, but you can now check out the series and the latest at the link, which literally just got completed (for now). 😉

While I feel refreshed, having caught up with things, there is still quite a lot more new announcements that will be coming in. For now, you will find hints of what’s to come on the home page.

But this post is simply to share my cherished series with you all together for the first time. This is a momentous occasion for me that feels like when a mother gives birth to her children. And interestingly there are nine, so that sort of equates to the nine months of labor in a way, not to mention the perfection of a full cycle coming to closure and renewing.

All nine of these sacred animal spirit paintings can be purchased as originals or various giclees on both canvas or fine art paper to suit your desired size and affordability.

Note: “The Power of Silence” original is no longer available. But you can still purchase original-sized giclees of it and the quality of these giclees is astounding.

If you have any questions about any of these, about sizes, or if you would like to purchase several to have in your sacred space, spiritual center, yoga studio…contact me with requests.

I just today shipped off all 9 original sized giclees on canvas overseas to a healing center and I couldn’t be more honored, as this is the perfect mirror of how I see the paintings I create being utilized – to support others through the energy they convey and that they are imbued with, which assists shifting into new and empowered experiences.

Explore the series of 9 and read about their collective and individual meanings here: Universal ARKitecture

I have also written individual posts on each that you can peruse by name on this blog.

The Power of Silence – Snow Leopard’s Message through Visionary Art

The Power of Silence

The Power of Silence by Tania Marie

He who does not understand your silence will probably not understand your words.

~Elbert Hubbard

As always, it is a joy to be able to bring a vision to life and this most recent commissioned painting provided me opportunity to channel not only a personal expression for whom it was being created, but one that collectively had meaning too. I was excited by the synchronicity of this request to paint a snow leopard, as it had been on my radar to be included in my series, Universal ARKitecture. So this piece felt aligned on multiple layers and serving a greater good, which is always something I put out as intention.

I was so excited that this painting would have two-fold purpose. It seems that most things these days is about synergy, everything aligning as a cohesive tapestry, and depth within simplicity.

This painting happens to also be perfectly aligned in being the #9 painting in my series (the only one that the original will not be available, but prints are), as its message and symbolism is very connected to the symbolism of the number nine and its association with “The Hermit” in Tarot.

For starters, snow leopards carry the message and medicine of focused silence, true strength and power, gracefulness, and independence. “Coincidentally” they live in, and are well-adapted to, the remote areas of Asia’s Himalayan Mountains (the area I have been researching for my own personal sacred journey) and create their dens in rocky caverns and crevices in the high altitudes of the mountainous and snowy region. They are extremely rare and in fact are endangered species under protection. As a very solitary creature, they only come together with another of its kind to breed, but otherwise remain on their own.

Because of their “hermit” like nature, they whisper to us the “power of silence.” They know its value and also the power of mindfulness, being observant, present, aware, and focused all by going within your inner silence. They understand good use of purposeful retreat in order to prepare for the new. From this place, you are alert and ready to embrace opportunity when it presents itself, having the advantage of the wisdom gained. They also know how to conserve energy and to use it discerningly and efficiently. They tell us to avoid talking too much about future goals until you have achieved them, but realize that you have all the energy and strength to very effectively manifest them and will be able to perform well under any circumstance. They warn not to take on too much though and make sure it is aligned with who you are at heart. Keeping focused on what your inner guidance shares as most important will help you to pinpoint your attention and energy and when you do, go forth with all of yourself, but make sure to keep balanced and rest and play as well. Know that when you are out on a limb that like the snow leopard, you can land on your strong, broad feet. Be mindful of not taking on more obligations and commitments. Snow leopards teach us to be fearless leaders and to use our power wisely and effectively. When they show up for you they reflect that clairvoyance is a natural gift you have that can be used to integrate your shadow and make productive use of all of your parts working together in wholeness, rather than in separation, which is counter-productive. They also message you to trust your intuition to guide you, as it is right, and not to be afraid to “stalk” your dreams. Go after what you are passionate about, but do use caution and discernment when “out of” your own natural territory. Like the snow leopard, it may at times be wise to blend with your environment, lay low for a while, and come to understand Divine timing for revealing yourself.

For those of you familiar with The Hermit energy from Tarot, you may see some similarities with the snow leopard.

Much like the snow leopard, The Hermit stands alone on the top of a mountain with a lantern in his hand. The Hermit symbolizes soul-searching, introspection, inner guidance, searching within, meditative time, connecting with Source and centering self, time of self-discovery and purposeful withdrawal to do so, being patient, going quiet into your heart stillness, and spiritual focus and enlightenment. Like the mountain he is depicted standing upon, this symbolizes reaching a spiritual pinnacle of growth, achievement, and accomplishment that has been in preparation to bring forth to share with others. The Hermit focuses on inner awareness as guide to life and the lantern he holds is a symbol of the wisdom and enlightenment found, and of the inner light that is revealing answers. The staff he holds symbolizes a path of initiation, power and authority, which also demonstrates his wise use of deliberate isolation and reveals what has been attained in wisdom to support the evolutionary path he follows. And since the staff is in the left hand it is connected with the subconscious and coming to master all parts of himself (the seen and unseen). The snow he stands upon (like the highest grounds of the snowy Himalayan peaks where the snow leopard resides) symbolize the great heights of spiritual enlightenment achieved, or that is available to achieve, by walking this path when it cycles around. The cloak offers the same ability that the snow leopard’s coat does, that of being able to stay “invisible” until ready to reveal what has been attained and even then, to do so with discernment.

This leads us to the next interesting synchronicity that this painting comes to double as – being #9 in my series – the numerological correspondence for The Hermit card is number nine. 🙂

The number nine represents the end of a cycle, wisdom, completion, fulfillment, attainment, satisfaction, accomplishment, search for truth, releasing all that no longer serves your life, and endings to old cycles before the new begins. The spiritual meaning of nine has to do with intellectual power, influence over experiences, inventiveness, going within to access your own inner wisdom and power, and then extending your authentic gifts to the world in service for positive, influential change.

The painting also happens to symbolize the season of Winter – the Winter of your soul – a season that symbolizes the hermit – no surprise – and a time for stillness, silence, indwelling, percolation, introversion, contemplation, integration. It is basically a time for going within and quieting the mind so the soul can retrieve from that centered place/Source, what will be of greatest benefit. It is a time of “crystallizing” your inner workings from a place of clarity and purification.

And the snowflakes of course represent our individual and beautiful uniqueness, simultaneously within our unity of connection with the Collective Consciousness that all originates from Source. We each have our own journeys, as Source experiencing itself, but how that journey unfolds is up to us to create in the reflection of our hearts.

As you can see there are many layers within the symbolism of this painting and that goes without mentioning the other layers you can likely discover by exploring it and letting your heart feel the energetic message it conveys.

I created an image that brings physical clarity and the mystical surreal together, whereas you see a very poignant snow leopard that for purposes of this painting is not camouflaging itself, but revealing itself so you can come to feel what it means to be in that space of grounded strength and centered peace that exudes from within, while following your spiritual path – seen also through his soulful and piercing clear eyes, which mirror the environment of enchanted crystalline snowflakes and enlightenment that is coming through from Source.

The question is, are we seeing Source as a separate entity from which this comes, or is this a projection of the inner journey revealed of what is going on within and behind those crystalline eyes from the Source at heart?

Above the snow leopard you also see the faint appearance of Buddha with star-like snowflakes lighting up his heart and sitting just above his crown.

Since the Himalayas are home to the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest, and to many Tibetan Buddhist monks, they are known to symbolize spiritual enlightenment and ascension. Is it no wonder then that the “hermit-like” snow leopards reside here as well?

There is much I could continue to reveal, but I’ve already revealed much more than I normally like to do with my paintings, as they are meant to be “experienced” and what I may say, share, or see, may be something completely different than what you “experience.” I prefer not taking away from that, but providing some insights to anyone who is interested.

Because of the way that things are so magically aligning these days, I felt to share more of the story. And because this painting feels significant to the current energies of where some people are, in terms of really doing that deep inward work with the reflections of shadow and old to integrate and release, this felt important to expound upon a bit. There are also cycles that are continually happening on a daily basis where we are learning to balance our energy and this involves both the inner and outer and understanding when to move in and out for optimal results. So even though we are in Summer and we are being asked to bring forth into the light and create the new reality we have been wanting and working towards, there are also periods of stepping back, like with the Mercury Retrograde currently, to regroup and make adjustments so you can leap forward with greater focus.

As always, I have said that anything can change at any moment, and I follow where things lead. There is the potential this may be the last in the Universal ARKitecture series, contrary to originally feeling there may be a few more. The numbers within the series has shifted a couple of times already, and could again, but currently this is where I am putting present closure until, or if, I receive guidance differently.

Perhaps it is perfect in this way, as the cycle of 9 leads us to the birthing of the new cycle, and what that new looks like is up to each of us individually to create for ourselves from the mirror of our own heart’s reality.

So the next canvas is a blank one for you to envision and manifest as you desire. What will your #1 look like?

Whereas, I am called to create in another vein, having channeled the messages given to me for this series of “experience” and am now ready to walk through the next doorway.

Gem of the Emerald Forest – Panda Gifts of Wisdom

Gem of the Emerald Forest by Tania Marie

I just completed the 6th painting in my series Universal ARKitecture last evening, which will be available in prints soon, like the first 5. To purchase the original you can contact me.

This new painting is titled, Gem of the Emerald Forest, and honors our sacred and endangered panda brothers and sisters. Each painting in this series conveys a theme reflected through animal spirit wisdom. I am guided by intuitively listening to messages I receive that reveal which animal spirit and energy will come through next. I have found that each always synchronously mirrors a collective theme.

Before I share some of panda’s wisdom, I found it serendipitous that a good friend of mine yesterday shared the news that Mei Xiang, a giant panda at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington D.C., just gave birth two her second cub on Sunday night. I had no idea, not ever watching or reading news unless someone brings it to my attention, but found it synchronous my friend shared this with me, just as I was putting the final touches on the painting.

I feel this painting not only conveys valuable wisdom, but is connected with the birth of this new cub that is an ambassador for conservation, diplomacy and peaceful relations. As the news report from Anthony Castellano shares:

“With only 300 pandas left in breeding zones and zoos around the world, Mei Xiang and the father of the new cub have become public symbols for endangered species and conservation efforts.”

You can read more and watch the video here: Panda Mei Xiang Gives Birth to Cub

Gem of the Emerald Forest by Tania Marie – A little better detail close-up of the panda. I’ll have professional images done soon of this painting, but this helps give you a better idea for now

I had only just started this painting on Friday evening (the first day I was “able” to begin channeling it), working a couple hours then and Saturday, but doing the bulk of the work Sunday and finalizing it yesterday on Monday. It’s sitting in my office/studio right now, as I am loving the energy emanating from it. Being that my company is named Emerald Bridge, due to my resonance with, and focus on, the Heart Chakra energy, this one reflects a resonance for me in relation to that.

The Heart Chakra has the ability to be the balancing integrator of opposites (between body and spirit, male and female, persona and shadow, ego and unity) and acts as an energetic “bridge” between the lower and upper chakras. It is from this place of peaceful centeredness that love emanates as divine power. As you will see by panda’s wisdom, this energy is very much reflected in what it has to teach.

Panda’s have much wisdom to share with us. They are a rare gem that symbolize many valuable things we can learn from. Being generally solitary, they teach us the importance of solitude, going within and understanding the value of slowness and being still to receive. They are very agile tree climbers giving them the unique ability as a totem to tap into higher knowledge and teach us soul development. They teach us balance and finding that center that learns to integrate opposites in harmony. Their black and white colors depict the energy of the Yin Yang Symbol, indicating the importance of this balance between masculine and feminine energies, East and West, and anything of duality. They also draw our attention to the need to create more balance in our immediate lives. These contrasting colors represent differences in cultures and how we can break the barriers and boundaries, realizing we are one global community. They also teach us adaptability, connection to the Plant Kingdom, and Eastern beliefs.

Pandas are also masters of being elusive, despite their bold, contrasting colors and so they point us to where we are feeling a lot of inner conflict that may be causing us to “hide” rather than allow ourselves to shine and be seen. In this way they remind us to nurture self-encouragement and cultivate soul nourishment in order to reach our fullest potentials – basically, to realize the gifts of your uniqueness and to stop hiding.

Pandas are adorable and make you just want to run up and cuddle them, however they are also very strong and not to be messed with. In this way they teach us to be mindful of making judgments and not to judge a book by the cover. There is always more than meets than eye and by taking panda’s advice of going within, you will find the heart answers you need.

As a very exotic being, panda cultivates our love for the exploration of exotic lands and appreciation of different cultures.

And as mentioned earlier, pandas have always been highly treasured in China and because of their history of China gifting Giant Pandas as diplomatic gifts to other countries, they represent diplomacy, peaceful relations and have also come to be ambassadors of good will and conservation.

Pandas hold many hidden treasures for us to embrace. It is clear to me why this lovely being has channeled through in painting #6. Many of us are working with these aspects of integration, balance, working through inner conflicts to find peace, revealing our authenticity with courageous vulnerability, honoring inner wisdom and realizing the importance of times to withdraw in order to reconnect, seeing things with unconditionally loving hearts, and uniting as Global Human Beings.

I am always so excited and honored to see which animal will come through next, never knowing until the divinely perfect unfolding moment. 27 more of these lovely ones to come!

Thank you Panda for your gifts of wisdom and many blessings to the dear little one that has just entered the world via her mother Mei Xiang.

Custom Animal Companion Portraits That Touch The Heart And Speak From The Soul

“Summer Days” ~ Nikki – 24″ x 30″ Acrylic on Canvas Animal Companion Portrait by Tania Marie

Being deeply heart-connected to animals since I birthed into this experience of life, and having very profound and magical relationships with my own animal companions, it’s no wonder why I resonate so much with painting our beautiful animal friends. To me they are no different than myself and I see and honor them as the divine souls I know them to be.

I love channeling soul energy that comes through our animal sisters and brothers. Animal Spirit Guides always come through whenever I am working intuitively or supporting others with Reiki sessions, which is why I started to provide Animal Spirit Guide Readings in combo with Reiki Healing Attunements and why I was inspired to create my new series Universal ARKitecture that channels the messages of the Animal Spirits of the Earth.

I am always honored and excited to be able to bring to life the spirit of someone’s beloved animal companion and today I’m sharing the joyous spirit of Nikki, that I was commissioned to paint as a gift to the dear friend of my client. I have titled this painting, “Summer Days,” as it depicts Nikki at her family’s summer home in her favorite spot she loves to hang out. She has such a joyous, bright spirit, reminiscent of vibrant Summer Sun.

My gift in creating these animal portraits is in bringing to life the inner spirit of each beautiful soul and infusing visionary elements that highlight the magic of their uniqueness. I create from photos provided and either create my own environment to support the spirit of each soul that feels to highlight their essence, or will create what is desired as their environment – always infused with an artistic vision in how to bring those elements to “life” with a little Tania flair that I’ve come to be known for in my paintings.

Animals are our best friends, children, companions, soulmates and in many cases are the dearest gifts in our lives – always there unconditionally to support and love us. Many have lost dear ones, currently have new members in their family, or have those that have been with them through thick and thin for years. In honor of these dear ones that bring invaluable joy to our lives in immeasurable ways, I offer animal companion portraiture as a custom service.

The animals have a message to share with us. We need only to listen. ~ Tania Marie

“A human being is part of a whole, called by us the ‘Universe’ – a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” ~ Albert Einstein

Prints Now Available of the First 5 Paintings of Universal ARKitecture – Plus, Once in a Blue Moon Revealed for the First Time

As I mentioned a week ago, I completed the 5th painting in my new series, Universal ARKitecture, called Once in a Blue Moon and this felt like the first cycle of energetic closure in the series before embarking on the the next cycles within the 28 pieces still to come! (there will be 33 in all).

These new pieces are VERY precious channelings that I so enjoy creating. I look forward to the rest that will emerge in their synchronous unfolding, and the energy they will each have to share.

For those who have been inquiring, I’m so excited to announce that prints are finally available! Yay! AND, for the first time I am able to provide professional, vibrant and clear images of the paintings that have never before been seen, which will provide much more to the experience of them now that they’ve been captured with clarity. This will also be the first time that Once in a Blue Moon has been revealed and I felt it appropriate to do so when all five were ready as a group to launch together. The first four I blogged on over the months, as they each came into manifestation. You can search them by name in the blog if you want to read about any of them again.

As always, the in-person experience is a whole other thing, but these images are sure to evoke an energy shift nonetheless, in viewing them.

Personal observational note that just clicked: Since this is the first time I’ve seen them all together in one place on-screen as well, it was the first time I saw something symbolic about them and why doing the first 5 feels like the first cycle of closure. For those that remember my In Lak’ech series, you will recall that they represent each of the 5 elements – Fire, Earth, Air, Water, and Spirit. As I viewed these first new 5 together it suddenly hit me that energetically they also resonate with the elements in a way, in a slightly different order – Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Spirit. Although they each clearly could have overlapping elements in each, this could also be a new energetic vibration of the elements channeling through for 2012. Very cool and fun to explore the meanings! Especially if you realize the symbolism shifts between both sets. 🙂 And very interesting that the only element that remained in its original #5 placement is Spirit, which both have the rabbit symbolism and Nestor in them. The other elements reversed order in groups of two – Earth and Fire switched places and Water and Air switched places.

To view the print options available for each painting, and to order, please view them here on my website. Originals also available:

If you have any questions about them, you may email your inquiries to me at tania@taniamarie.com

I’m excited to introduce the first five paintings in the series together, in the order they were channeled:

An “ark” by definition and historical understanding was a vessel built by Noah to house and keep safe his family and pairs of every animal of the Earth. It is also known as a sacred chest where the ancient Hebrews kept the two tablets containing the Ten Commandments. In either form, it is seen as a sacred and protective structure that contained the promise of a new life where a new architectural system of life codes would be embraced and instituted to start anew.

We have arrived at a place of empowering renewal, where the embracing of a new code of life is upon us once again. Cycles repeat themselves, as is apparent throughout the history of this Earth for every ancient civilization that has walked upon it. There are always messages, signs and guidance being provided to catapult us into a new co-creative experience,  when we come to embrace conscious, loving presence and courageous responsibility. To me, this means the end of a way of life is completing and a new form is in process of being embraced into manifestation.

According to shamanic belief, everything is alive and carries with it a wisdom and power. Shamanism is found in all cultures of the Earth and is the world’s oldest healing tradition. This ancient, worldwide practice involves engaging with spirit helpers and the forces of the natural world to develop relationships, solve problems and perform healing. Shamans travel to the parallel worlds where time and space have no meaning and use the powers of those worlds, the subconscious and the realities of this world to cause change. They are able to go within and enter an altered state of consciousness at will, in order to contact and utilize a hidden reality that most do not consciously perceive.

According to the shamanic and ceremonial traditions of the Inca, there are those known as naguals. Naguals are a form of very powerful shamans that unlike man that is driven by psychological ego desires, they have none. They are conduits of Spirit, receiving orders from an indefinable and indescribable source. Almost a non-entity, they have learned to break the psychological conditioning of the cognitive division that keeps us cut off from our sources. They can magically assume the physical manifestation of a different entity by shifting into its energy pattern, yet remain the same in Essence, since everything is energy. There are considered to be two different forms of shapeshifting wherein either the luminous body changes into a power animal or the physical body on the Earth plane changes into an animal.

Power animals are essential to shamanic practice, as shamans believe that everyone has power animals. These power animals act as guides or angels, imbuing their individual energy, power and wisdom to guide, heal and protect you. They provide the wisdom of their kind and are not only limited to mammals, but can also be reptiles, insects and sea creatures. Any living creature can serve as a power animal and plants and trees can serve as plant spirit guides, providing their own wisdom.

Depending upon the culture, the gifts each animal provides can vary, yet there are many consistencies across the board as well. It is important to let the animal speak to you in the way meant for you and to be limitlessly open to their sharing. Shamanic practice honors with awareness the wisdom and life in all things on Earth, understanding and believing that everything has something to teach. Many western cultures do not get taught to value animals and the gifts they have to help support our lives and the world at large. Yet, animals show up for us in many ways and they are believed to communicate with us by drawing our attention to things, sometimes through repetition. They try to get our attention because they have some wisdom to impart and are most eager to be of service.

We are all connected and we have each been part of all of the cultures, races and religions on the Earth. Animals are transcendent beings that speak to us in a boundless way, free of judgments or enculturated restrictions, which our ego minds may otherwise be closed off to. It is this reason I feel I was guided to bring forth their messages through my new series of heart-channeled creations, “Universal ARKitecture.”

It wasn’t something mentally contrived that I set out to do. I simply was supporting the intuitive visions and love I felt in my heart to express through channeled images I find an innate instinct and joy in creating. After I started to do so, it became evident what was simultaneously manifesting, as I followed my heart.

“Universal ARKitecture” was communicated to me several years ago and it basically speaks of sacred vessels, which I see as these paintings being channeled into creation. They house within them messages, codings, energy, keys….spoken through the many voices of the animal spirits of the Earth, uniting us through a Universal language of heart energy that is of the Earth and beyond. These medicine beings (naguals/power animals/spirit guides) hold antidotes for a new “ARKitectural” plan and code of life for creating the New Earth experience.

Their Essence will encompass an ecclectic tapestry of interwoven threads that may span and honor the many ancient, forgotten civilizations and world religions of the Earth’s history, as well as intertwine Earth and Cosmic dimensions. The power animals and shape-shifting “naguals” emerge through timeless energy portals to share their wisdom and powers. These channeled images I feel are supportive in guiding us with some of the keys for co-creating a loving New Earth with conscious, unconditionally compassionate awareness, embracive remembrance, visionary innovation, and empowered hearts.

I am seeing 33 paintings in total, providing loving, subtle energy to support a new existence as a Conscious Global Human Being, collectively connected in Universal Oneness.

It is my hope that these paintings will also help to bring conscious awareness of the animals on the Earth (endangered and misunderstood) – lending a voice to their expansive soul journeys, aid in supporting their precious lives, while providing deeper understanding and compassion amongst us all. We are all connected. Every living being holds infinite intelligence integral to the circle of life. Each has its own unique Essence that creates a colorful thread in the tapestry of magnificence we know as Universal Consciousness.

Activating Greater Authenticity – Garden of the Gods and Temple of the Sacred Heart Emerge

Garden of the Gods
The beautiful endangered Ocelot in its Rain Forest Garden of Eden

As you know, I have been on some personal time off for the last couple of weeks – a much needed internal journey evolving from very poignant messages. Usually I would literally have traveled off to a heart-called sacred place across the globe, but the traveling this time was purely an inner journey heart calling.

Today, the day of the New Moon and Annular Eclipse, I feel called to emerge from my newest cocoon and feel the experience of life’s light on my wings for the first time, again.

(Info about today’s Moon and Eclipse from Laura Bruno’s blog post: You can find loads of information about the May 20th New Moon and Annular Eclipse, as people in all walks of life are writing about it and honoring it in various ways. The direct path of the eclipse runs from Mt. Fuji in Japan to Mt. Shasta in the US, with a pass over Pyramid Lake, near Reno, NV- (where I used to live and family still does). People in these and other places are performing activations, meditations and rituals to honor the passing of the Moon in front of the Sun. This type of eclipse does not completely block out the Sun; rather, the darkness that covers the Sun becomes haloed by a “Ring of Fire.”)

It’s been a very personally powerful time of pivotal shifting and fine tuning these last couple of weeks (which will continue), and ever more so the last few days, as clarity has been pouring in, along with all the synchronous messages and reiterations. My heart is finding even greater peace, deeper love and creative joy.

Yes, change is here again in the life of Tania, but not so much the 360 flips I usually do, although on the outside could seem that way to some. It is really not so much about becoming a “new” me or sharing “new” channels of expressions, but rather, it is an activation of the authentic me at greater depths of the peeled onion core. It’s about revealing vulnerable expressions and truths at a deeper level of me. That may seem like something new, but it really is a journey of embracing what has always been, brought forth into the light of day with full consciousness.

It’s always so fun to see how the pieces of the journeys lead to the now moment and how they are all important and integral threads to the woven quilt of life that unfolds.

During “this” time within (which I found to be refreshingly very easy, without any strict or hard process to follow), ONE of the very cool emerging things was a new body of work that I am channeling. Interestingly, I had received the “idea” of this body of work last year, but many a winding road has been taken to get there. It was not time, as I tend to sometimes be ahead of myself and have to wait to catch up and be ready.

The first two creations of this body of work are featured in this post and will be available on my website shortly. They are Garden of the Gods and Temple of the Sacred Heart. If interested in either of these pieces, you may contact me for pricing and information at tania@taniamarie.com.

During my journey within, several cool things were synchronously unfolding, which included one heck of a story of how my painting, As Above, So Below, connected to its keeper and its crazy journey in and out of dimensions and even getting delivered to a Correctional Institute in Florida (staying there over a weekend), being officially declared as status undetermined to either lost or damaged with UPS wanting to reimburse me its value,  to it arriving safely, regardless, to its new home in Bimini and a beautiful gift from my friend, John William Bauld of Burlington, Ontario, that arrived at the perfect moment. His new CD of lovely mantra music he gifted me, along with the resonance of his heart-full voice were part of my inspiring support in creating Temple of the Sacred Heart.

There are MANY to come. Right now I’ve seen 33 total (interesting as that was not a plan), but being one that does not like limitations or structure, and knows the importance of allowing things to evolve, it remains to be seen just how many actually will channel through. But fun to see if my “seeing ahead” will actually manifest just as I see 🙂

I’m so in LOVE with my creative flow and what is channeling. It is too much to explain and really there is no need to. The basis is one that involves ONLY everything I LOVE.

More to come on every level and loving gratitude for it all.
