Animal Medicine ~ Nature Guidance for Conscious Evolution
One message that always reiterates and was clearly evident on my retreat time away – nature is where I thrive and belong. Since I first arrived on Earth this time around, the animals were always there to comfort and guide me. This is actually a soul history pattern for so many of my lives in this realm. Whether conditioning grabbed hold around me at any point in life, the whispers of the animal kingdom never stopped calling me back. Their language is the language of my heart, where truth resides alone. They helped remind me of who I really was – the nature of me – and how to organically unfold the petals of that Cosmic blossom here on Earth. In essence, they have always reflected evolutionary and harmonious alignment and how to be with peace as the center of my compass. The reason being because they match my wild heart’s innocence.
So while I’m keeping most of my time away to myself and Dave, I did feel guided to share the animal messengers that showed up to surround me in their medicine and serve as confirmation of alignment – ultimately adding activational inspiration to the path ahead that I’m leaning into creating anew.
This being because I know the power of collective symbolism and I feel that sharing our individual experiences can be beneficial. Also because I feel that nature and the animals are wisdom keepers of organic being and the closest thing to pure energy flow that can provide us invaluable pages of answers to the many questions running through us.
To reiterate past shares just briefly, I refrain from labeling things higher, lower, better, worse, positive or negative to describe paths across the board because they feel to create a definitive right or wrong simply by implication of their meaning. And in using these phrases we unknowingly can taint, manipulate and limit someone’s perspective, rather than support a widening perspective or openness of heart.
Simply put, there’s choice and what is your heart’s truth. If you choose from awareness of your intuitive heart resonance, then that is the most valuable gauge you’ll have. Even with splits and dramatic contrasts to what’s unfolding on Earth there’s still that choice alone to make, no matter the path you choose. The only thing that makes a difference is if you desire to make choices free of outside interference, then you move into personal awareness, which puts the focus on being present to your inner world’s response to things and not what others are doing or saying at you, no matter what group they belong to. And we, of course, have choice whether or not to be present in the first place as well, which is also perfect.
I can fully admit that I haven’t always been present in my life, or at least didn’t want to recognize what was presently before me. I’m grateful I choose to experience consistent presence now and it is because of this supporting greater attunement to frequencies, elements, and vibrations that I experience what seems like magick. My awareness fine tunes all my senses in ways that I feel I become much like an animal myself with extreme clarity of vision, sense of navigation and environmental awareness, telepathic communication, and more. And this is available to all of us.
I believe that’s a big part of why I find or encounter things the way I do. The other part has to do with my soul signature. Curiosity underscores the experience so that I’m open to any message or reflection the encounter imparts.
I’m steering more and more away from sharing the symbolism of things, as it’s very easy these days to research that online about specific animals or other symbols that show up, but more so it’s to encourage each of us to find our own way and messages from things reflected to us. Also to support trusting our intuition. I think you can likely draw forth some of what these meant for me, if you are familiar with these animals even in the most simple of ways. And in your own life, I also know you can draw from an experience of seeing a particular animal, element of nature, or something that catches your eye, attention, or heart in a different way, what meaning it might have for you at that moment, or what answer or message it is mirroring for what you’re currently experiencing or have been wondering about in life.
For this reason, I am moved to simply sharing these encounters and sightings as my own thread in the collective tapestry. They were particularly meaningful for my own conscious evolution at this time in my life and being that some of them were extremely rare, made them that much more potent. The timing of how and when they showed up also spoke volumes.
I do feel that nature is our closest ally right now in supporting each of us toward more of our own authenticity, empowerment, and heart communication. I feel that development of our senses and awareness, overall, can be enhanced by time in and with nature. I believe our physical well being and immune systems can be strengthened and experienced with greater peace and grace by time in and with nature. I believe clarity of connection with our intuitive messaging systems and with the Cosmos at large can be opened by time in and with nature. I believe hope, inspiration, and creative flow can be nurtured by time in and with nature. I believe our capacity for kindness, tenderness, vulnerability, compassion and nurturing can be nurtured itself by time in and with nature.
Nature has the natural ingredients to support conscious evolution on an individual and collective level if we open ourselves to her. And the best thing is, she’s free and she welcomes you with open arms no matter who you are or where you come from.
From micro to macro, nature shows us daily alchemy at work and how we each have the innate ability as alchemists by nature of being as well.
Our retreat time away began enchanting from the get-go and every single day was no exception. In fact, on the day we first embarked, we got a send off from the biggest herd of wild horses we’ve ever seen – including little foals – and a bald eagle majestically gazing out on the herd and us from a tree.
Whether it was multiple, daily animal encounters or gifts, nature and I were in sacred communion the whole way.
I already mentioned the abundance of wild turkey feathers, which were literally a daily discovery in the most hidden of places that are almost unbelievable I could “see,” as well as the two naturally shed, complimentary deer antlers in separate places miles apart that were also nearly undetectable on the forest floor covered in branches, twigs, and Autumn leaves.

Every single day we’d see multiple deer (most of the time in small groups with occasional single sightings like these), morning and evening, and nearly everyday we’d see wild turkey.
From grazing to curled up and resting, playing with each other to leaping gracefully with ease across the trail, the deer were prancing into our lives with their gentle and innocent presence. And two turkey flocks would sweetly gobble along the outskirts of forests and homesteads with curious, at-ease presence and beautiful feather displays.

Some of the more rare sightings included moose, great horned owl, swimming turtles, and bald eagle.

There’s a story behind the moose that is personally incredible for us and connected to our past, but let me just say that her appearance not only was pure alignment and magick, but confirmed why I have felt moose to be one of my key totem animals. She is SO much like me.
My experience with the great horned owl was also incredible. Again, almost a miracle I saw him. I woke one morning and as I passed the window in the bedroom I noticed a dark mass in a tree across the way.

I felt immediately this was an owl. I slipped on my tennies while still in my jammies, and made my away across the forest floor to confirm what my heart felt. And there he was, still half asleep, but aware because two magpies had just been yelling loudly at him to leave the area. It was still dimly lit outside, so he peered at me with half moon slit eyes, turning his head toward me to let me know he heard me when I spoke to him.

We then left for the day and upon returning in the evening, hours later, I decided to go look at the tree again. To my surprise he was still there, but now fully awake.

I felt he waited for me to continue our conversation and connecting. He would let me come close and just turned his head with wide eyes to make sure we were directly locking ours together.

He was never bothered by me from start to end. I spoke to him gently and each time thanked him for his sacred presence, message, and gift.

He felt to be much more than an owl and yet even as an owl this creature of the night was a Cosmic gift to me.

The swimming turtles actually surprised me while I was deeply communing with nature and receiving. I heard a noise in the water, then taps under the floating mini dock I was laying on that brought me fully back from melting into everything.

When I peered over I saw a larger and smaller turtle swimming sweetly and then disappeared below.

Not long after, a giant grasshopper whizzed at me and stopped so we could gaze into each other’s eyes.
We also saw a couple of voles run across trails, a fun and spunky little guy that leaped onto a branch like a flying squirrel and then stopped to comically pose for me with a pinecone in his mouth, and one chipmunk in particular caught our attention. While they are not rare at all to see, this one was so deliberate and unafraid. She decided she was going to continue nibbling regardless of our presence and sat a foot away just “being” with us and enjoying her lunch.

She had the most beautiful, thick little chipmunk tail either of us had ever seen and she was like a little character straight out of a novel, come to life – full of sweet personality and completely at peace without the usual twitches, fast movements or breathing. Not long after her another one did similar and let Dave go within inches as he crouched down beside him. He wasn’t as fully calm in embodiment as the first one, but still indicated that he was open to being more of that.
My take away from these two, and in general the animal encounters, was that these beings were waiting for us to meet them in that same curiosity and peaceful presence.
Nature’s invitation is increasingly being extended as a form of support even more so these days. Not only inviting our conscious interaction and understanding, but extending an added effort by way of demonstrating a reflection of humanity that we’ve forgotten.
And while we didn’t see this one, we were told that a mountain lion had come into the neighborhood just a few days after our arrival by our house host. Since mountain lion are so reclusive, it’s not usual to see one, but just feeling that presence at the time we were here meant something to me. Another invitation and messaging to go deeper within and be present to the inner messaging always speaking to us in a variety of ways. I’ve only once seen a mountain lion slinking down the wall of a canyon from the other side in Colorado. That felt like a comfortable physical distance to me. 🙂

I discovered two of the largest wasp nests I’ve ever found – well actually four, but two of them were scattered in pieces – plus a smaller one still attached to a tree limb sitting next to just the top of one of the other two large ones I found that had dropped to the floor.

Although these two nests are big, as you can see by my hand as reference to size, they were still only half of the nests.

They are all abandoned nests that have served their purpose for the season. In fact, I found two dead wasps inside of the one you see above.
I just LOVE nests, whether bird or insect, I find nests and hives so incredible in artistry. I explore the intricacies and sacred geometry of these nests and am fascinated. The inside of these giant ones are just amazing! And I love the honeycomb centers, as well as the tunnel holes in and out.

I also kept seeing an array of enchanting little mushroom worlds everywhere (these are just some of the enchanted little realms I captured). They, too, were hidden across the forest floor and my eye would always find them.

They took me even further within, since these micro worlds direct us into the tiny underworking and value of every little thread to the whole.

Mushrooms have been around for ages and their ancient presence not only shamanically and spiritually have value, but are essential to Earth’s biosphere.

Therefore their wisdom is mighty, although part of the mini worlds you might often overlook. Just like your unique light and presence of being is impactful although you feel you’re just one of billions of humans on earth.

It’s been an incredibly enriching time away and every single moment has been cherished and remembered. This was one of the most magickal times for me – more than I could have imagined it to be. I’m beyond grateful and in many ways awe-struck at what has unfolded, how it has, what it’s put in motion, and feels to be indicating for the road ahead.
Everyday I would have what I called Faery T time, after our full nature days, where I immersed myself in my own little world with nature. On my last day, after having received more gifts and saying my thanks and farewells for everything, Grandfather and Grandmother turkey came to see me off. Every other day it’s always been the flock, but to have the two largest and oldest, alone, meet me was just perfection in every sense of the word “sacred“.
It’s also been meaningful being away during the change of seasons. Not only did we get to immerse in Autumn splendor, but also felt Winter’s breath begin to touch the land.
Temperatures dropped, some rain refreshed everything, and snow kissed the mountain tops. We even had a short fall of sweet hail snow drops coming through sun shiny skies to bid us a magickal farewell.
This apparently was happening back home at the same time, with some needed rain coming in along with Winter snow kisses to follow. Our house sitter sent us a video of our first snow dusting the Forest Portal floor. The fire that once knocked on the door also experienced 98% containment while we were away (the projection has been 10/16 for 100%) and so returning feels like a nearly full refresh from this magick bubble we dipped into the last 11 days that is and always will be dear to my heart.
May we each receive the guidance we desire and that supports the conscious choices that align with our hearts for evolution.
Spirits in Animal Bodies & A Little About Tiny Horses
Animals have souls too and are Spirit in physical form, choosing the body and experience that best supports their journey and the collective tapestry weaving and unfolding. I have always seen them as equals and one and the same as humans. In fact, they have been, and are, my best friends, partners, co-creators, teachers/guides and students, soul mates, and twin souls. As a little girl, they were all I felt most connected to and where I felt most comfortable being in their company.
I remember a channeler once looking at my aura and energetic field and saying how many animal spirit guides I had around me – more than he’d ever seen around someone and – and even my dear Laura sharing, long ago, that she’d never met someone who’s been an animal in past lives more than me (at least at the time that she shared this). 😉
Needless to say, I love and get these sweet souls (as I know many of you do too and would share similar feelings and experiences) and know that they have much to teach us, which is why much of my life is devoted in helping to be a voice for them and their important messages/ways of teaching us, and helping people to recognize they are just like us – helping to look beyond appearances and feel into the heart and spirit.
Yes, stop judging a book by its cover extends to all books.
While I love them all, over time I’ve discovered the ones that speak most to my journey and are constantly around me (like rabbits, horses, butterflies, hawks, whales, dolphins, geese, tortoises…and others I wear on my skin as sacred tattoos). Although new animal spirit guides will wander in and out when needed and in cycles (like many of the ones I post photos of and share about in my blog and on social media, as they flow into my life).
And some in fact are my familiars.
I came into this life with a huge love for horses, likely because of my repetitive and transformative lives as one, but discovered this has been part of my integration and healing process that then has led me forward. And while horses will always be powerfully and soulfully connected, since there is that mirror of recognition and resonance, I’ve now moved into what I like to call the “tiny horse” realm.
This, of course being rabbits.
Why do I call them “tiny horses” you ask?
Well, because in fact they are more closely related to horses than they are to a rat or mouse, contrary to belief.
Rabbits are lagomorphs, not rodents, although do share similarities, but some major differences including their teeth and the fact that lagomorphs are herbivores, whereas rodents are omnivores so they have digestive differences.
There’s also differences in male reproductive parts, whereas rodents have baculum (penis) bones and rabbits do not. Humans, horses, cetaceans (whales and dolphins), and marsupials also don’t have baculum bones.
This may be one of the reasons rabbits are considered close relatives to horses because they both seem to have retained primitive traits from the most primitive boreoeutherian mammals.
Rabbits and horses have the same digestive systems, teeth similarities, eat the same kinds of foods, have similar behaviors, sensitivities, prey instincts, and body language, not to mention they are amazing mirrors for therapy work on so many levels. Their faces and heads can literally look like a horse too, minus the long ears.
If you know about horses it definitely will help you to understand rabbits, so no surprise of my own evolution with this.
And a new “tiny horse” is on his way into my life in just 10 days! Yes, I’m doing the countdown. It’s been a long, patient journey awaiting his arrival, due to our travels, but he still hasn’t been adopted and that means our connection has been solidified through our telepathic journeys.
Just two days ago I solidified things further by ordering all of his new supplies, gifts, and special herbal and nutritional items to make him feel right at home and fortified in well being. We don’t have much room in this small treehouse up in Lake Tahoe, so I couldn’t go all out as I wanted to with Faery bunny extravaganza, but he will have the best of nutrition and loving touches of which I can integrate in here to meet his needs. Will be tight, but full of love.
And in the one photo I do have of him, which is what drew me in in the first place, I do have to say he looks like a tiny horse for sure.
Excited for the journey we will share for however long is meant to be.
I will continue to be a voice for the spirits in animal bodies, especially through my magickal rabbit friends, as our Cosmic connection aligns most with my own.
Faery Down Under Part 2: Honoring Cosmo with a Celebration of Australian Animal Friends
Today in the States, as we’re already the 18th of May here in Australia, would have been Cosmo’s 11th Birthday. He’s as strong as ever in my heart and life and has been traveling with us here Down Under. I haven’t much time to post, as we’re heading to Sydney today and have a drive ahead, but wanted to honor him with some animal friends we’ve encountered in the last couple of days since I posted. Yesterday, the 16th, happened to be our family parakeet, Chuck’s anniversary of passing 6 years ago, and today, the 17th is also my 3rd Cousin, Nella’s 70th birthday (whom I just met for the first time in Australia), as well as my sweet friend, Hillary Schneider’s 34th birthday of Epona Rise (you may remember her from our Reiki and Horse Retreat a couple summer’s back). So lots to celebrate!
We had a tremendous time in Tathra seeing more black swans and kangaroos, exploring amazing Bournda Lagoon, Hobart Beach, and Moon Bay (providing us intimate private time with Nature, since it was all secluded except for us). And yesterday in Canberra we explore Black Mountain Nature Reserve, climbing the mountain and trekking some offbeat tracks, encountering us with wallabies and kangaroo in the wild. So amazing! And the gifts continue with feathers galore and even wallaby fur. Shamanic magick all around and loving having all my animal brothers and sisters with me close. A wonderful gift of love, harmony, and mutual reverence, as well as feeling of being close to my little ones who are off world, as they make me think of them so much.
I love you Cosmo! And I’m loving our time here in Australia. Enjoy these photos.
Nature’s Powerful Reflections of Resonance ~ Plus Bear Magick & Medicine
Just sharing a short post reflecting the powerful nature experiences and medicine that took place each day over the weekend, back-to-back. Very potent and mirroring of the shamanic energy I’ve moved more deeply into over the last two years. This also reflects the rising Schumann resonance that hit an all-time high for Earth this weekend, spiking on Easter itself.
Laura had just sent me a link this morning about this (I wasn’t familiar with this term) and shared about its connection to the collective’s awakening. The link basically explained this as the natural resonance or frequency of the Earth that had a huge peak this weekend (Easter was its spike, as mentioned) to the highest recorded value it’s been.
I call it “a return to natural harmony,” which has been my focus since I first really started connecting dots on my own awakening path.
Anyway, beginning Friday there were some very pronounced experiences that took place alongside a lot of beautiful and instant nature reflections, as manifestation to things in the moment taking place or being thought or spoken of.
This included a magnificent sighting of a Bald Eagle on our Fallen Leaf Lake hike while Lynne was visiting, not more than maybe 1/2 an hour after talking about Bald Eagles with someone we met along the way.
The Eagle swooped ahead of us through the trees, then circled round over the edge of the lake and disappeared to the left, later to be found by us sitting atop a tree where he sat waiting and connecting with us for quite some time. Lynne got some great shots with her zoom camera (just received them so here’s one above), but during the time I was watching him he tucked his head under and plucked out one white feather that floated off into the wind. I thought that was quite significant.
Then the next day when my parents surprised us for a visit, we took them on a walk and right when we got to an opening where two benches sat overlooking the lake, a Sun Dog appeared above Tahoe and we sat there for about 10 minutes taking its beauty and symbolism in together. I love how in these photos the sun appears as a hexagon.
And on Easter, yesterday, (right after seeing this lenticular cloud appearing like a UFO over Lake Tahoe’s portal) Dave and I decided to drive up to Tahoe Meadows for a snow shoe hike, which took us to the top overlooking the lake.
We made it there just as the snow was about to blow in, which it did on our descent back along with strong winds that made the journey double the work, along the way passing through trees with singing and visiting Chickadees – all quite magickal.
But it was on our drive from the top, back into Incline Village where we were going to get a drink at the Lone Eagle Grille overlooking the water, that we came upon a mother Black Bear and her three yearlings.
We hadn’t seen bears since our RV adventure on the Magick Bus up in the Montana and Canadian Rockies area where we encountered Grizzly Bears several times (twice on one hike along our path – one of which was a mother Grizzly with three cubs too, as well as a few times off the side of the road close to our car, and Black Bears a couple of times).
I also had some potent Bear dreams and visions while on that journey, eventually leading me to purchase a Native-made copper ring with Bear totem on it.
But yesterday it was a Black Bear family that graced us with their presence, although their fur had turned golden and reddish, making them appear a bit like Grizzly Bears, minus that signature pronounced shoulder hump.
Anyway, we caught glimpse of a yearling running across the road, then slowed and saw that he’d been going over to where mom and the others were pine cone foraging.
At first we only saw mom and two yearlings, but after a few minutes, a third appeared. This being very symbolic to a significant unfolding taking place in my life.
They were not newborn cubs, given their size – their mom likely had them last Winter -so now were yearlings coming out of hibernation and looking for food. Young bears stay with their mom about two years and are born during hibernation. You can still see the mother’s nipples in the photo above.
We stopped to observe them, sitting in our car just across from them. They were completely absorbed in eating and not at all disturbed by our presence in observing them, which allowed me to watch and receive what they had to share.
This reflected to me a time in my own life where I am nurturing what I’ve received in inner reflection during my own period of hibernation. A time of nourishing my soul needs in Spring’s cycle of renewal and creative birthing.
Eventually all of the yearlings made it over by mom and I was able to capture some video I shared on social media – Instagram and Facebook – along with these photos here.
So much bear magick and fearless ancient medicine! Not to mention, empowered Sacred Feminine energy and that Divine Mother embodiment that has become so deeply experienced within me.
I love their strength and transformative energy. They remind me of the courage I have within to call upon in order to take action without fear, while remaining grounded and in rhythm with Earth and Nature’s cycles.
As I observed them, it was a reminder of observing myself in every moment and self-reflecting – something I do all the time by stepping outside of myself and remaining detached, as I review what I am doing, thinking, or feeling.
Their coming out of hibernation (just like I’ve been quieter during the Winter months) also was reflective for me in that creative rebirthing taking place in my life currently after having gone through my own vision quest, returning with even greater comfort in the solitude of my own company, enjoying exploring the dark and unknown, going deeper into intuitive trust, and with Nature as my constant companion and guiding force.
Their coming out mirrors my own vulnerable, but strengthened reveal.
It has been a time of deep soul searching during the Magick Bus journey and these Winter months, really seeding what eventually I would bring forth into the world anew. And that was done through decisions made from the power of my Spirit.
Bears teach us about knowing the timing on things and aligning with the “when” and “where,” which specifically messaged me in trusting how things are unfolding with my life and new, and especially with something I’ve been waiting to hear about.
In the meantime, the teaching of laws of respect and boundaries that Bear brings forth continues to get reiterated for me. Both in strengthening, anchoring, and voicing my own, as well as mindfully being present and mutually honoring of those around me.
And because of this mutual honoring, there was no need for mother Bear to feel threatened, nor did I disrespect her boundaries invisibly understood.
In this way we could mutually be in a safe space together and share the love, connection, and reflective wisdom.
I loved watching the yearlings rolling the pine cones with their big paws, while trying to get the nuts from the cones. This was a reminder of keeping that playful energy alive (so reflective of the time spent with Lynne the days leading up), and simply of my own inner child that thrives on playing, laughing, giggling, and being imaginatively silly and in the moment with the energy moving through me.
While Bears reflect the natural leader abilities within us when they show up so profoundly, they also summon us to relax into our vitality, bringing that forth in innocent, creatively passionate channels of self-expression.
Such beautiful gifts and reflections received and integrated.
Thank you.
Hope, Healing & Harmony ~ Dream Journeying with Two Blue Snakes & a Gila Monster
Dream time has been SUPER active and potent in conscious awareness again, after a short lull of things not needing to come to awareness in waking life about them and not remembering them upon waking in the morning like I normally do, even if I had during the night if I awoke. This to include another surge of dreaming about so many people I know, whether met in person or not. Collective stuff is swirling hugely with major transformation happening for all. Yet this last Friday, 1/20, I had quite a potent dream again with snake at the forefront, which felt both personal and collective since it happened to be on the night of the inauguration and before the next day of marches across the states.
I’ve been experiencing myself more and more as a transmitter, so to speak, but now taking place in a more empowered and conscious way than it used to be the first part of my life. In this way, it does not affect or trigger me, but I remain a detached observer and channel transmuting energies.
It’s all very fascinating, more so because I am aware of the evolution of this and it not tormenting me or confusing me as it did when I didn’t have my Pisces fish in balanced grasp. That tug of two fish swimming in opposite directions can be challenging, but also provides the path to a Middle Way.
Anyway, Friday night’s dream was fascinating to me as well. I hadn’t had time to share more in depth about it until now.
I have dreamed of snakes often and shared of them before like in this post: A Little Full Moon Snake Dream Activation, but this one was very different again and involved blue snakes and two dreams converging.
The first dream found me in bed and finding a snake skin at the end by my feet in the covers on top of the bed. I knew where there’s a skin there must be a snake and so I searched the room to find the snake. The room itself was unique as it was both indoors and outdoors with a floor of grasses, bushes and rock where there would otherwise be flooring or carpet. I found the snake in the bordering tall grasses of the perimeter of the room and it was beautiful.
It was a lighter to medium blue color with medium to darker blue marking and smaller in size. The first thing that came to me was “blue cornflower snake,” which I remembered upon waking.
Then my dad shows up and it was unlike him to approach a snake, although would think it beautiful, and may have connotations about it. But my dad behaves differently and magickally. He goes closer and very intentionally towards it putting his hand out even closer, less than a foot away. I tell him to be careful because it is a very poisonous snake, but he edges closer with his hand with peace and centeredness and the snake for a moment slowly pulls his neck back as if to strike, but instead does not.
He gently leans in closer, as if mesmerized and in communion with my dad and his hand. They are in perfect harmony and as if my dad has charmed the snake with his balanced energy.
I then wake up and tell myself to remember this dream and the name of the snake that came to me, as I didn’t feel like getting up and writing anything down.
I then go back to sleep and the dream continues. I don’t ever remember this happening even if I want it to, or at least not that I consciously remember.
The dream continues with the memories I intended but shifts into a new version of the dream as an add-on.
Again, I find another skin and go searching for the snake that shed it. But before finding the snake a blue gila monster walks across the center of the room and through the grasses with slow deliberate steps. I am only needing to see it and then my attention goes back to finding the snake I’m aware of being there.
This time I find it under the corner of the bed where the mattress is caving down inside the bed frame revealing it below. It is again a beautiful blue snake, much like the other, but much larger…like a boa.
I stand straddling the corner of the bed and this area that is open revealing the snake below, but I start to sink lower and lower, caving in toward the snake and he pulls back again like the other, but does not strike. He is inches from my ankles and feet, but again we seem to be in harmony together. (Ankles are connected to Aquarian energy and feet to Piscean energy….both very strong for me in my astrological chart).
This is all I remember, but seemed like I got all of the important parts to bring back into waking life for sure to this layered and potently symbolic dream.
When I woke I started researching blue snakes….there are quite a few – Blue Racer Snakes, Blue Coral Snakes, Eastern Hognose Snake, and yes, even Blue Corn Snakes….and more.
No blue cornflower snakes, at least that I could find, but either that was how I interpreted it, or it was because the “cornflower” part was significant to remember too for symbolism sake.
There is so much one could interpret from this dream, especially given symbolism of everything, and I won’t go into all of the possibilities or full personal interpretation I have been piecing together, but will bring to light a few things, as I always find it helpful to share how we can figure out the meaning for ourselves of things by looking into our lives with honesty, doing a little bit of online researching on our own, looking at what’s going on in and around us, the collective field of experience, etc.
The first smaller snake I find to represent my inner child, on a personal level…and the little girl me. The communion in harmony with my dad felt like a new layer to our relationship has been activated and my making peace and harmony with the old male that is now in process of transforming. That I’m taking back my power in terms of the male and the father role in my life and equality is taking place here, not to mention I am now bringing forth a new empowered and balanced male through my life that the snake skin shares I have shed.
The larger, boa-like snake, being the new me and transforming my Pisces and Aquarian aspects of myself – I have Sun and Mercury in Pisces, as well as Jupiter and Venus in Aquarius.
And we are in the Aquarian Age, having transitioned out of the Piscean Age, so there is much transformation afoot – no pun intended. 😉
It also speaks to me about my dad going through his own personal transformations with himself in relation to this and coming more into balance with his divine feminine parts.
And then I see a collective symbolism of the shifts taking place and the potentials for us all where the male and female energies are finding their way slowly to greater balance through all of these turbulent and transformational times that are shaking up things and creating opportunity for us on a bigger level even though temporarily seem like something completely different.
The latter due to the tie-in with the inauguration that calls to mind these specifics people have been warring over and having great torment about emotionally, which is bringing rise to new perspectives and more unified ways of seeing things through greater compassion to understand one other…or at least that’s the opportunity. My dream presented a hopeful outcome.
And hope is present with the reference to the cornflower, although this is a flower that carries very dramatic and mixed symbolism over time…this is the one thing that stands out to me the most in all that I researched.
There are references to its fragility, but being quite a courageously determined plant that can withstand harsh elements and still thrive where other plants cannot.
It can be traced back to ancient times and old traditions, including Ancient Egypt where it was connected to life and fertility, reanimation and resurrection.
All parts of the plant have been used medicinally and according to Greek mythology when Achilles was wounded by a poisoned arrow, the wound was healed by applying cornflower plants. Interestingly that poison in the arrow was said to come from Hydra, usually depicted as a huge poisonous water snake, but interpreted as a giant slug. In Christianity, slugs were associated with the devil, just as snakes have been, and the cornflower remedy became a symbol of Mary and Christ, often found in Christian fresco depictions.
And there’s the energy of tenderness, reliability, fidelity, and power, sovereignty, and majesty throughout time that came to be linked with cornflower as well.
And there has also been complicated layers to it, as Bernhard Weidinger, a Vienna historian shared, “It was the German Kaiser Wilhelm’s favourite flower, and was used by pan-German nationalists in the 19th Century.”
“Then between 1934 and 1938, when the Nazis were a banned party in Austria, it was the secret symbol they used to wear in order to recognise each other.”
And the Freedom Party whose color is blue, wears cornflowers.
Brings light to my thoughts on a collective transformation in process with these paradoxes of meaning.
But still I focus on “hope” in light of it all, and potential that could unfold with our conscious efforts.
Blue is a color of peace, calm, trust, communication…it is also the color of water and sky – water and air elements – and of the throat and third eye chakras…in this case more emphasis on the throat by the color I saw in my dream, but connecting with the third eye with the darker blue markings. This bringing focus on a new level of inspired and intuitive self expression, communication, song and sound…all things feeling relevant for me and my focuses, but also in the greater landscape.
Air and water elements are bringing mind and heart together in balance as well, male and female governed energies, and a greater fluidity and ease of flow with change, abundance, and expansion.
There is an element of healing help the snake’s presence brings to the primal parts within us….our origins.
There was nothing negatively felt in the dream, nor any pervading fear, although I’d stated caution to my dad when he went close, but I did not overreact or try to intervene or panic. It was from a place of knowing this was out of character for him and that I didn’t know if he knew how to handle the situation, and yet he did.
I have long through my life worked on healing my throat chakra, empowering my voice, and speaking up for myself and voicing my uniqueness…not being afraid to express who I am, share my ideas and beliefs, despite anyone including my family or dad potentially thinking certain things of me. After all, he is a Virgo, my opposite, and my role has been to temper these opposites within myself, while remaining authentic to me rather than follow in his footsteps. And yet, he had many positive things to teach and help me to integrate into my own version of new male energy…something by my own example directly relates to his own journey too.
It also speaks to how sound has become a pervading element to my life through both my voice, song, sound channeling, singing bowls, and frequencies (recently gifting myself for my birthday two quartz crystal singing bowls that I knew I had to have that are a binaural beat theta wave pair – talk about potent balancing and invoking conscious dream, receptivity and opening a gateway to all things watery).
Snakes are particularly connected to this as well, not just the blue color that showed up connecting to the throat and ear and telepathy….they don’t have eardrums or external ears or openings like we do, but do have tiny bones in their head that conduct sound and allow them to hear low frequency sounds and sense vibrations traveling through Earth.
The blue gila monster also felt very potent to show up (it is one of two truly venomous lizards), as I had never had this before and didn’t know of its energy other than its transformative reptilian connections of essence I’m aware of. In looking more into gila monster it supported these things as I learned it teaches us to stand strong in what we believe and to protect that which is ours. It also teaches of the rhythm of life and maintaining balance and flow, but keeping determined and quiet about things in your journey while in process, preserving your energy, not overextending (gila monsters spend up to 95% of time undergroound and can go without eating for a year), are about survival, strength, and healing and connected with masculine energy.
And of course snakes are hugely transformative and healing in their wisdom, awakening creative forces, intuition, perception, and life force. Connected with the Sun and golden light, there is great alchemy with snakes that brings vitality and renewal to our understanding of our wholeness.
One of my spirit guides is Rainbow Serpent Teacher, which is why snake is always around and I wear a snake upon my right hand and wrist as a sacred tattoo and had a ring made as a serpent with a reminder mantra from this guide of my engraved inside of it.
There is a link to the Great Mystery, cosmic consciousness, and shamanism with snake energy – again very active and showing up in greater ways for me, personally, right now, including my creation of the pieces I’m told to make including wands, scepter, and staves channeling through.
But this is happening on a grander, collective scale where things are all coming to the surface for us to integrate and no longer suppress or deny.
The snake guides us and acts as guardian to those that embrace its energy, helping us to travel to sacred places and retrieve parts of ourselves on a cellular level and the hidden knowledge that lies within.
The skins of course are about shedding as a ritual to rebirthing and spiraling into new levels of awareness and being.
A potent dream for sure and perhaps it “sheds” some light on something within your own experience, or inspires some extra hope within the chaos to help keep you grounded and centered.
Animal Spirit Guide Support ~ Enter The Enchanted Forest
I’ve posted this link (below) before, but felt guided to share it again so that you can take a moment to breathe in your intentions and discover what animal spirit guide is by your side right now with a message of support to assist you with them.
This is a great way to put closure to the current year, by focusing on the energy that will open doors for you in the new year.
Take your time to focus and be clear with one particular area of your life you would like support with, or something larger you are wanting to manifest for the year ahead.
I decided to explore The Enchanted Forest twice.
The first time was in asking a broader question to assist me with 2016 intents I have.
The second time was in asking a very “now” question to support some anxiety I’ve been working through around putting closure to this year and accomplishing projects at hand in order to do so.
My animal spirit guide wisdom was perfect.
For the first I received:
The Butterfly ~ Transformation, Acceptance, Gratitude
The ultimate symbol of transformation is now an integral part of your life. Be glad, for you are the butterfly!
The butterfly energy will allow you to continually transform, gradually lifting your level higher and higher as you cycle through the stages of birth, crawling, cocooning and flight for each new stage of your life.
And as you go through this process, over and over, learn to accept that each stage is a necessary part of transformation. Butterfly energy will help you not only accept, but actually enjoy the early crawling stage, as you learn new skills and new ways of being. This energy will also help you understand that the chrysalis stage, wrapped in a cocoon with direction unclear, is a necessary state before you can emerge in your full glory.
And as you finally emerge as a butterfly, something that will happen to you many times in your lifetime, stretch out your beautiful wings and fly, enjoying life to the fullest, engrossed within this moment and this moment only, as you drink the nectar of the garden and give thanks for the many blessings of your life.
And then, of course, you will do it all over again, for you are the butterfly.
This made so much sense on a multitude of levels, especially since I continue to be in the chrysalis stage within my cocoon and will be for a while longer. And also because long, long ago butterfly had been received to me as my symbol for my life’s work.
The second I received was equally perfect in message to assist me with flow right now:
The Doe ~ Effortlessness, Awareness, Intention
You are blessed indeed to have the beautiful doe as your power animal. She appears delicate, but she is very strong. Her strength comes from her deep connection to all that surrounds her. She will teach you to stand within the moment, quiet and observant, sensing all that is, feeling each leaf of the forest as a deep part of your being.
She will also teach you lightness, lightness of the spirit and of the feet. With a deep intuitive sense of what is, you will know exactly when to take action and to do so decisively, moving quickly and gracefully in response to your knowing. She will teach you to sense the world around you so deeply and instinctively that you are always one step ahead of the events coming your way.
Let her light spirit fill you with the freedom and joy of being, so that you bound and leap through life effortlessly, always sure-footed, always deeply attuned, even when entering a new part of the forest. She will help you welcome the new experiences of life, giving a joyous welcoming to new beginnings.
As the doe, you will learn to be fearless, to trust your intuition completely and know that a deep awareness and connection with the world, combined with a belief in yourself, is the best possible protection there is.
That was definitely supportive and I could feel a release and relief in reading Doe’s message reminder to me to sink deeper into right now.
So now it’s your turn!
Take your own journey into the Enchanted Forest here to receive a supportive message:
The Enchanted Forest ~ Power Animals Unleashed
And if you DO journey into the Enchanted Forest, I’d love to hear what Animal Spirit Guide was awaiting you. Please leave a short note in the comments with the friend that met you there.
Magickal blessings to you!!
Inspiring Goose Symbolism
Duck, Duck, Goose!
This Goose crossed my path and as always I like to explore animal spirit medicine to see what symbolism is being reflected to me, along with any pertinent messages or supportive energy are being gifted and channeled my way.
This will be just a quick little share for anyone also interested in Goose symbolism or has been connecting with Goose a lot recently, as I need to run off to Cosmo’s chiropractic appointment.
Goose symbolism is quite inspiring, contrary to maybe some of the ideas people have about them.
It includes that of loyalty, forging ahead with bravery and confidence, teamwork and comradery, protection, clear communication, determination, dedication, fellowship, fidelity, fertility, and the balance of knowing when to lead or follow.
They also symbolize compassionate keepers of the community and embody the sacred circle and sanctity of the cycles of life.
Geese also happen to be vegan. So they symbolize a veggie and fruit diet and that this may be in alignment for you, or to incorporate more of these foods into your life – got that one covered. 😉
One really cool thing about Geese is that they never leave one of their own behind for any reason. They will stay with the sick and injured until they are either well again, or to support them as they transition. Now that’s loyalty and commitment for you!
They are extremely gifted in navigating, so they assist us in discerning our own paths in life and the choices that we’re presented.
They have amazing communication skills that they use in teamwork to help each other and protect one another. This protection quality also shows up in how they will fend fiercely for their young.
Gotta admire and respect these wonderful beings for what they demonstrate as example for us.
Opossum Morning Message

Opossum finally gets herself up the tree and takes a moment to look directly at me….look at those deep, big, black eyes.
This morning when I went to the kitchen to create the day’s smoothie, my eye caught something large quickly moving about the back perimeter of the yard by Gaia’s Tortoise home that I’ve kept out there in reverence to her and the sanctuary she loved.
I then realized that it was an opossum pacing back and forth, just as Gaia did, in the same area she used to. Immediately, of course, it made me miss Gaia. But it also put to light the paw prints I see on the deck all the time, which I hose down every few weeks. I thought they were raccoon paw prints, but now I see who they really belong to.
This opossum was no little one either. She is quite large with a body that looked like that of a pig’s, but with little feet and long pink tail, and quite a large pointed-nose face.
When she turned towards me, her face showed these big black eyes and her presence was very interesting and quite a different energy. Since they are nocturnal animals, mostly sleeping during the day, it is a bit unusual to have seen her and of course that made me take note.
I did not get the chance to get any great photos of her, as she moves rather swiftly and didn’t stay still much, except when she was trying clumsily to climb up the tree. She was quite large and so it seemed she was having trouble climbing, falling down once on her first attempt.
Eventually she got up the tree and climbed up over the fence and was gone. Since this seems to be her route though, hence the paw prints on the deck we find all the time, I’m sure she’ll be back, although it’s usually at night when everyone else is asleep.
Of course that made me want to explore some more about opossum to see if something in particular stood out in her message and animal totem medicine that might be enlightening and supportive.
Opossums are extremely versatile masters and use non-confrontational problem solving and strategic planning, rather than arguing and fighting. This makes them cunning strategists for being able to get out of situations not to their liking or to their survival advantage. This says to us that we should always have back-up plans, and be open to and creative with multi-possibilities to achieve an outcome we desire.
They are good at the art of acting in order to project appearances to their advantage. So if they show up it could mean either we need to shift and become more adaptable to be productive and sustain our well-being, or perhaps there is something in our experience that is not necessarily what it it appears to be, asking us to look deeper for the hidden meaning.
Opossums teach us to use all of our senses, and not just go by what we we think we “see”. This ability is cultivated within them from birth, as they are born blind and hence need to develop a greater connection, trust, and attunement to all other senses they have.
In this way they can be spirit guides reminding us and helping us to look for and bring forth our unseen gifts and the inner wisdom within us, while also getting to the heart of the matter, as they are skilled at uncovering the truth, and revealing the lies.
Opossums have short lives because so many seek to do them harm, so they have had to adapt in ways to survive. So they have learned to play dead, which is a self-induced state where they zone out, their pulse becomes minimal and heartbeat slows, while a musky death scent releases and creates the appearance that no one lives there anymore. This is a state they can enter in and out of at will very quickly, enabling them to escape.
This teaches us flexibility, quick wit, mutability to shift and adapt, keeping our cool in any situation where staying calm, centered, and in control will be of benefit, without letting fear take over. And with this skill also comes the skill at knowing when others are putting up fronts or deceiving us. Opossums teach us to use these skills to recognize and be highly aware of what’s really going on, as well as how we can use our skills for the greatest benefit.
Diversion strategies are survival instincts, speaking to our core and Root Chakra energy. Learning to look fear in the eye and be able to adapt ourselves, knowing we have the skills to get us through anything, and that we are safe even in the face of fear, is powerful. And also knowing when we need to adapt our ways and behaviors, rather than holding tight to rigid ones, will support greater potentials.
That said, we must also be aware of when we might be deceiving ourselves, self-sabotaging, or acting in less-productive ways.
Opossums can also herald a time to keep our spidey senses about us – don’t let others divert our attention by the flashy hocus pocus tricks and masks they may be pulling.
They support us in strengthening how we project ourselves, may be saying it’s time to let go of the old ways and develop new strategies, and to learn how to “be” with realism to create magick.
The way they play dead is also like zoning out, which symbolizes for us a time period where we can remove ourselves from things that are not beneficial to us, or even threatening and potentially dangerous. Perhaps heralding a time in our lives to go within, let things incubate, pull back, withdraw, extract ourselves fully even, and for the time being, be a remote island for a while – all done very intentfully, skillfully, discerningly, and in alignment with the bigger picture of our lives.
By doing so, renewal is at hand with more energy than you ever had. You will be recharged and ready to go and get ‘er done, no matter what the cost.
Since opossums are marsupials that carry their babies in sacks in their bodies, this adds the symbolism of only keeping that which is most valued to you, close to you (letting go of all the rest) and be willing to stand strong for what that is. Opossums will fight ferociously if need be. They also like to hide and hoard, so be mindful of what you might be hiding and hoarding and let those things go that aren’t necessary.
Opossums may represent a time for adaptability, incubation, protection, unpredictability, mothering, and connecting to your own wild/feral nature in productive ways.
There are a few things in opossum’s message that stand out and spoke for me. How about you?
Crossing Paths With Tarantula – Messages of Timing & New Doorways of Opportunity
It was a beautiful evening last night and after a productive day of work I decided to go on a sunset hike. It was such a clear sky that you could see Catalina Island (seen in photo above) from the hill top. And the sky turned lovely shades of blue and orange, or lilac and blue, depending which direction you looked.
I haven’t taken my cell phone with me on a hike for quite some time, but for whatever reason I felt I would see something I might want to photograph. And I did.
I’d just seen another of my Red-tailed Hawk friends sitting on a light post before arriving at the trail head, but this evening it was Tarantula Medicine that spoke to me most.
I haven’t actually seen one since I was a little girl. We had a lot of them in the area where I grew up in Diamond Bar, CA, as we moved in when homes were just being built. We’d see them on walks in the neighborhood and one day a large green one was in our garage hanging out on the garage door itself.
But since then, I haven’t seen any in the wild. That is, until yesterday evening.
Just as I was walking across from one hill to another, a Tarantula began its stroll across the path way I was approaching. I stopped to check it out and it seemed curious and interested, making its way toward me rather than running off away.
I love spider symbolism and how amazing they and their webs are, but only so close is too close for physical comfort, so at about a foot away from my feet was near enough especially since I hike in my flip flops. 🙂
It was a curious one though and kept following if I moved. Then decided to make its way fully across the path and back into the brush where it is hidden from sight.
Being that I haven’t seen one of these in years, it felt like an opportunity to look into some Tarantula Medicine, especially since spiders seem to be around a LOT lately.
I keep finding myself “walking into spiderwebs”, as Gwen Stefani sings in No Doubt’s song “Spiderwebs” (there’s a blast from the past), all the time at home, outside, and all around the perimeter of the house. Seems anytime I walk through a doorway, passageway, or bend down to do something, there they are all over me. It happens even when I’m away from the house too. And spiders are around a lot, including several Brown Widows I’ve been seeing. Likely the weather has brought them out, but never have I walked into so many spiderwebs and gotten them all on my face and body, like I have been the last few weeks.
Quite a bit of transformative energy entering my life, as well as a lot of shadow integration for greater perspective and wholeness, and timely and intricate, creative weaving. So it wasn’t too surprising that after all of this spider and web energy showing up that I’d finally come upon Tarantula as a climax.
“In the beginning, there was the dark purple light at
the dawn of being. Spider Woman spun a line to form
the east, west, north, and south. Breath entered man
at the time of the yellow light. At the time of the
red light, man proudly faced his creator.
Spider Woman used the clay of the earth, red, yellow,
white, and black, to create people. To each she attached
a thread of her web which came from the doorway at
the top of her head. This thread was the gift of
creative wisdom. Three times she sent a great flood to
destroy those who had forgotten the gift of her thread.
Those who remembered floated to the new world and climbed
to safety through the Sipapu Pole the womb of Mother Earth.”
~Navajo Creation Story~
Generally speaking, Spiders are the weavers of experience that desire to share that creativity with others. They are the assertiveness of Creative Force in communication of all forms, seeking to discover and create the reflection of your heart’s hidden desires, and to fulfill your dreams through the wisdom of what you weave.
They herald a period of transmutation in order to create anew and to rebirth into a more aligned experience of yourself in the now. Divine inspiration, industrious focus, and tearing away illusions may be needed at this time, as you seek to begin new projects and experiences in one or all aspects of your life.
Spiders teach balance, the spiral of reality, strength, gentleness, heightened sensibilities, the interweaving of all things, and support development of your craft and skills.
Their energy will assist in discovering the inner workings of personal dynamics at an increased level in your life and with completely new perspectives infused with infinite possibilities. Since their bodies are shaped similar to an infinity symbol (the number eight) and they have eight legs, this speaks to that boundless energy and the eternal state of being.
Spiders help you to tune into the ancient wisdoms and integrate them into your life, realizing that everything you now do is weaving what will come to be. You are remembering your role as a keeper and writer of your own destiny, and just as the center of the web is always small (representing you), the web is eternally expanding (representing your unlimited, creative potentials). You are limited only by your own view of self.
Life is always an evolution and Spider reminds you not to get stuck and complacent, but to continue to weave anew and to see the value in anything that comes into your field of experience (your web), as even if it doesn’t appear to have meaning and purpose right now, it may prove useful later.
Spider also teaches the written alphabet, runes, and symbols so they help with weaving your words, creating deep meaning, and writing with creativity and power that brings others into greater connectivity with your message.
Spiders are the feminine energy, but in that embodiment they teach us to balance with and honor the male energy, integrating the productive aspects of each. Her beautiful web is a message telling you to create, take note of opportunities, use wise discernment, and know when to make a move that takes into account everything gained from the perspectives available.
Although Spiders represent the wheel of life and opportunities, it is up to you to be decisive about things and not to let fear, illusions, and limitations hold you back.
Spiders bring a message of change to belief systems and dropping away anything false that was conditioned as a child. Interesting that the last time I saw a Tarantula was as a child. Definitely a sign of old foundations continuing to be removed and to pay attention to any last pieces that still have yet to be transformed.
Different types of Spiders will carry unique energy within the general symbolism just shared.
Perfect timing is a gift of Tarantula, while staying focused on the center of things. If a Tarantula crosses your path it speaks to a need for patience right now, as everything you’ve been working toward, creating, and asking for, has been percolating and is coming to fruition from behind the scenes. It’s time to just take a step back so that the new can take hold and create a solid foundation.
If you move too quickly, you could undermine the hard work you’ve been doing, so it’s a time for pure trust and faith that everything will come to you when you need it, and only when it is necessary and timely for the next move. Then you must act upon it and be decisive when the timing aligns.
Tarantula also messages you that positive changes are happening and for you to continue to integrate spiritual and physical, as you continue to move forward, remaining curious and trusting your intuition every step of the way. In so doing, new doors to new things will open and deeper self-discovery will take place.
There is a calm gentleness and strength to Tarantula that models what would be of best practice to your journey right now, which includes calming and centering yourself enough to hear her/your messages. Her presence shares a heightened time to be ultra aware and to make your moves with confidence, as you attune your senses to feeling every subtle vibration around you.
Ask yourself if you are creating to your fullest potential and then realize that Tarantula indicates you are facilitating your own path, so ultra awareness of everything you are doing and not doing becomes key.
Tarantula also messages your ability to shed your outer skin, to stay grounded, look at things from multiple angles, create a healthy boundary of self protection and preservation, and knowing how to blend and shift with the changing environment.
People with Tarantula medicine are creative, think outside the box, walk their talk, understand the right moment and purposeful actions, and prefer to do things on their own.
I’m always grateful for the messages gifted.
