White Jaguar and a Dream

white jaguarWhat a difference a night can make. Two nights ago, on the 17th of September I had another of my fascinating active “dream” experiences.

Leading up to this in the days prior, I had been feeling a bit out of sorts, which happens when change is upon me and a lot of things come at me at once. It’s that void space where things are processing – old and new, you sift through these voices in order to weigh and balance with discernment, explore new feelings that challenge the old, travel the realms of possibilities, and even experience the temporary confusion, dissolution, and throwing up of your hands in surrender.

It made perfect sense to me, as I know myself and my cycles, hence I do not get anxious or worry when things get turned upside down. I’m also aware that I’ve been following the nudge to pull back more, detach, and to be deeply within my experience for greater amplification of my essence energy. Plus, there’d been the acknowledgment of Gaia’s transition and feeling a bit like a fish out of water since I tend to live in the new before it happens. So when I look at the current reality it can be temporarily disheartening, wishing the physical to catch up with the non-physical. Not to mention, I just “know” this very large transformation is happening and feeling it in every ounce of my being – changes that include the transmutation process into a new vibrational experience.

How it all is to look, I’m not fully sure, nor is it necessary that I know. Just taking the steps that I am able to, each day, toward it.

Are they simply foreshadowing these times of change and all that is evolving into a new experience “here”?

Or am I receiving a personal message of timeliness and the presence as “this me” in “this life” is riding the sands of the hour glass…sifting almost fully through to the other side before a complete transition and paradigm/dimensional shift takes place into “there”?

All that is clear is change. And right now, that’s all I’m privy to with clarity, and all I need to do is to make sure I’m living fully as the vibration of my essence in every moment.

I’m grateful to understand my processes, as well as for the assistance I receive from beyond Earth to align with, and anchor, the change. And in the meantime, it’s about embracing and loving the colorful process, while keeping on top of remaining balanced for well being.

That brings me back to the interesting “waking” dream of two nights ago. When a significant dream shows up, I feel drawn to acknowledge and document it, as layers continue to reveal themselves in that process. I’m still deciphering and interpreting this one, as there can be many meanings to it. However, where the journey of exploring some of the symbolism took me, was very interesting. And while they may not be “the” meaning, they definitely are shedding some insight I was meant to see in the process.

For me, this was not just a dream, but was a reality elsewhere. Yet, even if one takes it simply as a symbolic journey, I have had many dreams where really positive work is taking place that helps to shift my vibration in the now, physically remove obstructions in my ethereal/physical body, assist in new upgrades, downloads, and spiritual surgery. I’ve woken up remembering, physically feeling the shift, or sometimes waking in the process of a physical purge (literally hacking up something energetically – like dry hacking) to remove the old. All of which has always been hugely beneficial and of course only happens because I choose so.

Wednesday night’s dream was one of these.

It still lingers quite clearly for me, so I know I am to remember. I recall I was to have a procedure done (which was multi-layered in effect) and was being escorted in some sort of a facility where something was going to take place with my brain and crown chakra, connected with higher self. It was a small place..seems like I remember darkness in the doorways behind, but the rooms were lit..smallish, square rooms. I was taken into one for some kind of scanning of my brain and what I recognized to be not only similar to receiving a CAT scan, but then some sort of surgery thereafter.

I do not remember the procedure itself, but remember after it, my head was bald and I had this sense of “rewiring” haven taken place and feeling refreshed. I don’t remember leaving the facility, but do then remember being escorted to another place to recuperate and rest/integrate after it. There were several around me, leading me to this larger towering structure that felt otherworldly, although reminded me of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah luxury hotel in Dubai. I was taken to the highest and, what I heard them say, was the best room in the entire facility. This is where I was to rest and renew from the procedure and felt I might be there a while.

This place was vast, expansive, and very light and pure in energy. It was to be my home for a while and did feel very much like that. A place of transition and renewal. How long I was to be there, I’m not sure, as I never saw the end of it, but I remember feeling like a child in terms of explorative, high energy, although with all my accumulated soul knowledge. Of course I was feeling fine and wanted to be up and about, but was told I was to rest and stay off my feet. Interestingly, my mom was in the dream, but felt more like her presence, energy, rather than the her now. And she was there to see that I’d get my rest as prescribed in order for the changes to take root. I had a lot of pure, vibrant, active energy, but I was needing to just relax and so she told me so and took me to the large bed of white sheets by the expansive windows, and tucked me in (much like she had when I was growing up).

This room had wall-to-wall windows with an amazing view of water all around, although didn’t feel like an ocean necessarily, but more like rivers and lakes. There seemed to be different passageways in the water that went off in different directions from the main source. The way this building was positioned, was like at the center of it all…the nucleus. There was a sense of motion, although not sure that things were actually moving.

After my mom tucked me in and went off to do things, I remember a smallish white cat appearing and jumping on the bed to lay with me. Her body directly against mine and with half of her body across mine. When I say smallish, I don’t mean like a normal small cat…I mean smallish in comparison to a large adult jaguar, which I then realized this cat was. She was white with black spots and I knew it was a wild cat. Much larger than a domestic cat, but smaller than a full grown wild cat. I’d say she was likely about three feet long.

At first I thought her an odd cat, when I’d only briefly watched her appear and then make her way to me. But I soon realized she was no ordinary cat, and in fact was a small white jaguar. It had kind of a thinner sleek coat, but then later I remember these very plush paws on me and some areas that reminded me of the snow leopards and their thicker coats. But I believe it was evidence of it being a younger jaguar and still having more of that plushy baby’s coat.

The dream ends, well at least from where my memory leaves me of details, at me laying in bed recuperating with my white jaguar companion nuzzled into me. She was very loving and playful and was going to be watching over me.

I started this share off with “what a difference a night can make,” which I’ll now expound on.

I mentioned how I’d been in an off place and feeling out of sorts, as well as some disillusionment and sadness, but when I woke up the next morning (yesterday) I was feeling like something had lifted and felt new invigoration and renewed peace/optimism. It carried forth throughout the day, and continues today, and I acknowledged it directly was related to this dream. On top of that, the weather shifted the same day I felt this refreshing switch flip on, going from the daily, so-very-hot 90’s (hard to work at home without an a/c) to cooling down to high 70’s and low to mid 80’s between then and now.

So this was an interesting reflection of the internal and external mirroring and balancing out.

But of course I’ve been exploring the personal meaning for me of this dream and saw the reflections of things I’ve been feeling and even mentioned above, including foreshadowing big change, transmutation, turning within, and even a physical transition, as I felt like me, but not the me now – an expanded, reinvigorated version.

Everyone will have their own interpretations, but remember that the meaning of most importance is what resonates for you.

I’m not going to go into all of what I’ve received personally here, but I will explore one aspect of the dream, which is the white jaguar and the interesting places it took me.

I’m very connected to animals, as you may already know, but I’m also very connected to jaguar energy. Afterall, I wear two as my own sacred tattoos (one each on my left and right ankles – a male and a female) – representing the ways I walk through life. Coincidentally, when I hike, I feel very much like a jaguar especially on downhills and have noted this often.

I found it interesting that in the last few months I’ve had significant dreams with one very connected animal showing up in each of them, and they turn out to be Nestor’s essence within the animal body. I’m feeling this jaguar was too.

But a white jaguar!? This is very new to me, as mostly the ones I’ve associated with are black. So I really wasn’t sure of the meaning, other than knowing what white can usually symbolize, such as purity, cleansing, innocence, clarity, new beginnings, wholeness, truth, enlightenment, awakening, and protection.

However, the journey of exploring this revealed an interesting web of a story for me, along with interesting thoughts on the symbolism. Some of which I knew, and much I did not. I’ll only concentrate on the symbolism that stood out and spoke to me in relation to the personal meanings from my dream, rather than expound on all of the jaguar symbolism, which you can Google for yourself.

White cats represent heightened spiritual awareness and “cats”, in general, represent feminine power, esoteric knowledge, and spiritual guardianship. White cats also symbolize tender love that you feel for a person and dreaming of them can signify good luck in creativity and spiritual matters.

Of course jaguars are sacred to the Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas and I have strong ancient ties to Mayan and Incan times. Supposedly, jaguar women were known to be at the “top of the pyramid of power” and the jaguar symbolizes getting “to the heart” of things – Mayan art depicts jaguars as holding the human heart.

Interestingly, white, more than black, is often traditionally associated with death in many cultures around the world, as well as mourning. These are cultures where death means the end of one life and the beginning of another. So this moving forward to a new experience of life could be symbolic of completion of a cycle in life, or referencing an actual transition into the eternal soul life beyond this particular life.

Synchronously, a lot of “white” clothing has been drawing me to wear it recently. Actually, lol, I’m wearing a white tank top and white shorts right now. 🙂

But these changes can be about new travels ahead, a physical move to a new home or area, change in career direction, and new relationships – could this be a foreshadowing of something I’ve been feeling in these areas?

White is also considered sacred to certain gods and is associated with the male/yang energy. Black is the female/yin energy – this I knew.

White was the symbol of the soul, especially in Egypt. It was also the color of the great serpent. To Norse the white worm was the one chewing the tree of life, Fafnir.

Jaguars are guardians of inter-dimensional doorways.

Jaguar medicine carries clarity of vision and the ability to “see” the roads within chaos and understand the patterns of chaos. It has the ability to face fears and to move without fear in the darkness. Because of its very keen vision, they can move into unknown places and see beyond what the physical eyes perceive, which speaks to psychic vision. This is where their association with getting to the heart of things comes from, as their ability to see during the night imparts their ability to look into the depths and shadows of the human heart. And with the binocular vision that cats have to have each eye work itself independently, this offers depth of perception and to see with balanced perception.

They also carry shape shifting energy, herald deep soul work, and personal empowerment as you reclaim your power. Jaguars share with you the foreknowledge of things to come.

In Mayan mythology, the jaguar was the ruler of the Underworld, night sun, and darkness. The Mayans built temples to the jaguar god, as it was second in the pantheon only to the serpent god. There is a Temple of the Jaguar at Chichen Itza, which I only make note of because last night’s dream took me to Cancun, Mexico where Chichen Itza is, as well as specifically named Playa del Carmen (love when I get specifics in dreams), which is directly across from Cozumel and where I’ve taken buses from to get to Tulum. So the Mayan energy ties of this area were prevalent in dream time. (this will make sense as I continue)

This seemed also to be a continuation dream to the jaguar symbolism and where it led me in my explorations today, AFTER both dreams. Also interesting to note is that the temples in Cancun I’ve visited three times in this life, which is one of the most repeat travel areas I’ve journeyed to in this life.

To Mayans, the jaguar’s spotted skin represents the stars shining in the night sky, perhaps speaking to the illumination they provide when you embrace the integrative journey into the darkness.  The Mayans saw jaguar as the earth father, calling him “Jaguar Sun” – the hidden sun – that reigned over the animals and all that is sacred on earth.

The Mayan word for Jaguar is “Ix”, pronounced ‘eesh’. And here took another personal twist.

You can calculate your Mayan sacred glyph (astrological sign) in terms of “count” (for example “Tzolkin”). In terms of the Tzolkin calendar I’m “Caban” or “Red Earth”. But, in terms of the “Dreamspell” calendar that Jose Arguelles created in 1987 through a reinterpretation of the Mayan cycles in a modern context to get an energetic map or “Galactic signature”, I am “Ix” or the “White Cosmic Wizard”. I have connected with the meaning and energetic signature of both, hence I wear both sacred glyphs on my skin as sacred tattoos, but I have always felt an inner resonance with “Ix” placing the glyph on my throat chakra, as the empowered way I uniquely and creatively expressive myself.

Herein lies the connection, as the sign “Ix” is represented by the jaguar, as shared above.

Without going into all of the symbolism of “Ix”, this particular connection seemed key and of course represents the same things above about prophecy, clairvoyance and the ability to see in the dark like jaguars. Is it no wonder, I shared that physical vision is the sense I would be willing to give up if I had to choose, as I feel I truly “see” without my eyes.

Anyway, to take this Mayan thread a bit further, I also wear the Mayan Moon Goddess, “Ix Chel”, at my heart chakra as a tattoo (she’s often depicted holding a rabbit, which my image does – some saying this may depict a YOUTHFUL Ix Chel) Long story on that connection, but when looking at white jaguar symbolism I came across this interesting information that tied this in as well.

She’s also a jaguar goddess by her name and is often depicted with jaguar claws instead of hands, and sometimes a jaguar pelt – it is said that this is the AGED version of Ix Chel. Hmmmm…

It’s assumed that if the name was of Yucatan origin, then “chel” could mean “rainbow.” Sometimes she’s called “Lady Rainbow” or “White Goddess”.

In the stories told of Ix Chel, it is said she bore the Sun God four “jaguar” sons/gods that moved through the night unseen. The story also shares that she spent many nights on her sacred island of Cozumel supporting and protecting women through their pregnancies and childbirth – a bridge for birth and rebirth. In the early 16th century, Maya women would travel to the sanctuary of Ix Chel on the island of Cozumel, which was considered the most important place of pilgrimage after Chichen Itza, seeking blessings of a fruitful marriage. The smaller island, Isla Mujeres, that is north of Cozumel (Island of Women), was devoted to the worship of Ix Chel.

What does it all mean? I’m piecing that together still, but it definitely is fascinating to connect dots and explore the rich depths that come through what may seem like nothing but a wild dream.

And for me, I in fact know this dreamscape experience also DID take place on another dimensional plane, as the sensations and feelings are carried vividly and felt strongly in the present.

Again, feeling like a full circle spiral taking place in my life, as it is my Mayan remembrances that flooded in for me many, many years ago, which was a catalyst for one of the huge leaps in my spiritual journey and started to unravel the web. And having it come through this little “dreamspell” – pun intended 😉 – was quite interesting.

Now I get to connect the dots and follow where ever the journey takes me, in what ever form that is to be in, having that peaceful knowingness from my dream of being protected, assisted, and watched over for the transitions to come.

Oh, what a beautiful web we weave, when first we practice to perceive. 😉

The Child In Us

child in us

Painting: The Child In Us by Tania Marie ~ Shares Porcupine’s wisdom of innocence, renewed sense of wonder, and trust in Spirit. (Prints and original available here: http://taniamarie.com/gallery1.htm)

Inner child work has always been a powerful seed “key” to creating change. And when done with unconditionally loving courage, can be the impetus for empowering yourself in unlimited ways.

We all have a child within that is in need of our loving acceptance. No matter how strong and self-reliant you think you are, there is a time for tender vulnerability in everyone’s journey that is needed to cultivate a garden that your child-like heart can creatively and expansively blossom in. This will provide astounding results in your current experience and with all that you intend.

As adults we carry with us false beliefs from the past that as children we learned to believe. A lot of that includes the things that we were taught was “wrong” with us and so the greatest rejection living with us today is the one to, and of, ourselves with these beliefs.

Listening to and softening our inner dialogue to embrace the perfection of all that we are, is a needed part of our daily practice. It is important to know ourselves to be whole and forgive ourselves, as well as revel in the quirky beauty that our inner child has to share.

Loving your inner child will support healing the darkest experiences by shining light on the beauty that was always there. This opens doorways that the Universe will support you with when you are willing to partner with it.

Sin Eater

This is an incredibly insightful post from the soulful Cnawan. Turkey Vultures have been a consistent companion anytime I am hiking and they also fly above my car when driving. I’ve been meaning to explore their depth, so I am extremely appreciative of this share and think that it has a lot of value to impart. I believe that animal spirit guides message us in a multitude of ways in terms of questions we may be asking ourselves and wondering about others around us, events and experiences currently taking place in our lives or on a global scale, new encounters, life paths, direct support, prophetic insights, and yes, the power of the medicine you carry in life or at this time. It’s always so incredible to dig deep and discover the amazing richness in all of life. I find this post especially synchronous and timely.

The Ghost of a Flea – Symbolism and Messages to Embody this Mighty Shadow Totem

ghost of a flea

This is a great miniature painting by William Blake titled “The Ghost of a Flea” that demonstrates its collective shadow aspect (discussed below) in the magnification of the Flea as a monstrous, bloodthirsty creature

It’s been an interesting and full several days since Thursday night, and in general upon arriving back home from Alaska.

I spent the majority of yesterday – just over 6 hours – in Jury Duty, which was a fascinating experience of observation. Between that and a rendezvous with TSA for finger-printing to assist expedited travel (resulting in the confirmation of my mutant humanness with unnatural, never-seen human patterning, as was put to me), unexpected vet appointments, and flea infestation, it’s been a 3D check-in of realities that are so foreign to me. And, definitely such a contrast from the bridge-between-worlds of Alaska’s heavenly, untouched nature – which activated deeper natural frequency alignment in me.

I love how we dance with realities, as integrative check-ins when we are in process of major shifts. When a bunch of stuff shows up that seems opposite to you, it’s not a negative thing to react to or worry about, but actually a good indicator of the changes you have made.

I’ve also noticed increased psychic connection and telepathy recently, not to mention experiencing tremendous changes all around that happen very quickly.

Due to so much in flux and needing to honor what is showing up now, even Sunday’s Crystal Workshop had to be postponed and combined with October 11th’s and our BC Horse and Reiki Retreat is in process of rescheduling for Spring – “luckily” 😉 all of these changes worked out for everyone involved and people that were registered were also in tune with the shifts.

A lot has energetically changed since my journey away and I do not feel the same as even just a couple of weeks ago, let alone yesterday.

Since arriving home I have felt increasingly like the observer – evermore compassionately detached and yet in that detachment, even more connected. I’ve felt more foreign to the place I call home and finding things to energetically feel more off, but in the most subtle yet noticeable ways. I’m seeing it as reminders of what is natural to me and what is not. But it also increases the innate essence connection that resides in my cosmic soul to a bigger and divine picture, providing even greater understanding.

These are all things I’ve noticed and noted before, but now the finest fluctuations of energy out of alignment with what feels natural, are softly blaring their existence to me like a middle child who yearns for attention.

There have even been eerie reminders of times long ago and the demise that resulted – all to catapult me into the new with greater fortitude and embrace.

But, I’m getting a bit into too many realms here, so I’ll dial it back to the original thought that triggered this share, which is a lot of interesting experiences have been happening, both inwardly and outwardly, since I returned home.

And one of those, as mentioned, includes a flea infestation that I finally pinpointed on Thursday night.

The fleas brought up mixed emotions, including being challenged with not feeling resentment toward the situation and sadness. This all resulting from my “protective mom” qualities that watch over and care for Joy, my rabbit, like a mother Bear with her cubs.

Joy is such a precious and fragile little one (at least in the physical, although her soul is powerful) that she brings out the most vulnerable and tender in me. And to see her invaded with fleas and with chunks of hair loss, was heart-breaking for mom, especially since she has never been subjected to anything before like this and I take grave care with caring for her from learning with my departed Nestor.

Joy also represents me and aspects of my vulnerability and strength, so of course, anything that happens to her is a personal reflection for me to integrate.

Because I look at the layers of things and feel the importance of integrating those shadow aspects that emerge for a reason, having those kinds of feelings crop up immediately had me exploring them more and going straight into the wider perspective than what my narrow human emotions and ego would be capable of if left to run amuck.

On the surface I saw Joy as an innocent bystander of the flea attack, as she is protected indoors and it was fleas brought in by the cats who have a play pen outside, that this resulted from.

THAT was the limited perspective from ego emotions.

However, there is always a bigger picture story to all of this I feel, and that all of the players involved are creating the perfect learning curve experience for the greater evolutionary good.

THAT is the wider perspective.

Also, I didn’t like how while I understand the bigger picture, that a part of me still gets bothered by things like mosquitos and fleas attacking me and loved ones, as they also have their own meaning and purpose. Being a magnet for these biting creatures and with an allergic reaction from my strong immune system that severely attacks foreigners, it can be very uncomfortable. And yet, that discomfort also has its place and lesson. So when I, too, found ankle and foot bitten effects of this infestation, it was something I wanted to explore more deeply.

It may seem like a silly thing, but I was also bothered by the fact that there is a general “negative” factor for creatures such as mosquitoes and fleas that pervades humanity, including most of, if not all of the vegan friends and acquaintances that I have, which would seem to be inconsistent with compassionate views. I think everyone is always working on consistently practicing and spreading that spectrum of compassion to all of life, as it can tend to be limited to chosen ones (speciesism) to the exclusion of others, sometimes including other fellow humans.

I was on a mission to find more about flea symbolism, aside from the more obvious things and messages (most of them having a negative twinge) I have known and what one could surmise about them showing up. I wanted to see what dots I could connect and reflections I could learn from and integrate.

So, I did start researching and this is what I was led to discover.

http://www.animalspirits.com shares Flea Wisdom to include:

Metamorphosis, ability to alter time within the life cycle, sensitivity to light, ability to trigger a birth process by the use of light, vibration or the various components of air.

Interesting, as yes definitely a very large “metamorphosis” feels at hand for me, which is like a rebirthing that is about a new vibrational alignment I feel to be activating. Time to turn over a whole new leaf (there sure seem to be a lot of them in my life LOL) and a new lifestyle, which IS actually in the works as we speak too. And this has all been altering “time” and dimensions in my experience.

Okay. These were also in a “positive” light, which was what I was looking for. What else might I find?

Well, of course there’s what I knew – that they also symbolize irritations and aggravations, which will increase until you make the necessary changes.

Okay. That doesn’t have to be seen as “negative” however, as in fact this is a positive nudge to assist in taking those steps, making a choice, and moving forward.

For me those steps increase over time and are never small. Now, is one of those “huge steps” time period that my soul existence depends upon.

I could see this playing out, as I’ve been inundated with so much that I’ve had a postponement on things I was creating…and had just told myself on my trip in Alaska, and after it, that that was it. Time to do it no matter what is around in life to handle, as I really won’t thrive or be fulfilling my purpose until I up my personal creative output to a much higher level. I’m not a baby-stepper, so leaping I knew was in store.

Flea friends were literally leaping around mirroring my conclusions.

Then I found the more “negative” information about fleas symbolizing needing to clear and clean out everything, including self, aura, energy, as these “blood suckers” are about something or someone living off or sucking your life force energy or blood – energetic vampires, as some information shares. This can mean energy vampires sucking from you because you give away your energy to easily, or your own dependent vampirism that is taking energy from others you care about without even realizing it – both resulting in unhealthy and imbalanced relationships with others.

Well, that could be the case for some people, although let’s look at it in a positive light again and that it simply would mean to nurture yourself, your needs, and know and stand by your boundaries. Letting others be responsible for themselves and you take responsibility of you. Fortify yourself inside and out and pay attention to how you give in to victimization, take on the martyr role, or forego your desires and dreams to support others that either don’t want the help, or you’d be far better off helping by helping yourself. It also speaks to simplifying your life, getting rid of things completely rather than fixing or cleaning them up, and re-evaluating things so that you are vibrating from your authenticity. This could be fears and self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back and sucking you dry of having the ability to freely be you and looking after yourself.

Boundaries are something I’ve definitely been on a life-long mission to create, as that has been a toughy for this Pisces. Definitely can see some small tweaking still in order there, but nothing large in way of anyone sucking from me, nor me of them. I am, however, in process of “cleaning out” and simplifying on a daily basis though. So a good reflection I’m on path here and to continue the momentum.

Dependency, accumulative damage, running away from problems, hurting the ones you love, and sensitivity to your environment are included in some of the flea symbolism. They can also come into your life to remind you to look after yourself and your environment with extreme vigilance.

Fleas have multiple stages of metamorphosis and so that would indicate also the many shifts and transformations you will go through in your life, as life is about change and growth. – Yep, that’s me.

They also have a sense organ on their bodies that is very sensitive to vibration and air currents, so for me that indicates this increased subtle vibrational frequency I’m detecting as well.

Fleas need darkness and so they speak to sensitives of light, or are heralding a period of personal retreat, taking stock of your life, sensitivity to your environment, and feeling overwhelmed with over-stimulation. So time in seclusion may be very healing for you, as a result.

Well, interestingly, I will be entering a #9/Hermit year come my next birthday in February and I’ve been feeling the effects of that early, as I always do, so this makes sense. I’m feeling that incubation time for personal retreat to work on things important to ME. And, there is that increased over-stimulation and sensitivity to things around me that feel very misaligned and foreign to my natural state. All I crave is the stillness of harmony I feel within when I’m in alignment with my personal frequency.

They can also represent accumulative damage, which means that if you don’t handle the small things, they can turn into large things later. So heed the warnings and address what is coming up so they don’t get to a state of feeling completely out of control.

What I noticed is that Fleas sure do run and squirm away lightning fast! And this seems to speak to potentially you running away from your problems/challenges or that you need to remove yourself quickly from potentially damaging situations, like now! No delaying.

I do feel an increased “now” kick in the butt that feels an impending need to act upon, but nothing to run away from or that I am running away from…more, for me, it’s about running to the next aspect of myself and quickly!

Then there’s “blood wisdom” that Fleas hold, which includes memories and secrets of ancestry, knowledge, wisdom, and energy held within it. Interesting, as I’ve been delving into cosmic soul ancestry – Earth and Beyond – and activating latent parts of myself and DNA – all part of the new I’ve been focused on.

Let’s see what else shows up as I explore….

Well, I love this info about shadow aspects that I discovered, which I was specifically tuning into wanting to receive, as I know that Fleas definitely represent shadow totems for people since I don’t believe many would admit to “liking” them since they feel threatening to us and/or our animal companions. Perhaps this is because they remind us of our vulnerability and the ability to attract something unwanted that feels threatening, despite our vigilance.

But does that mean to stop living fully or to stop doing things you want because there is the potential of an unforeseen “danger”? No, of course not.

Wise discernment and conscious awareness to make intuitively guided choices is imperative, but to live a life in neurotic fear would simply mean not living in general. You can’t worry about every possible little thing that can happen, but you CAN see how to choose more wisely and that everything that does happen is not a “bad” thing. Everything is a growth opportunity and there is always something of value to take away.

If you find yourself “hating” something, like Fleas, perhaps you have a feeling of severe resentment and hatred towards people around you that are abusive in some form to you and/or others. However, having that kind of unhealthy hatred is a call out for deeper understanding and love.

The shadow within anything is representative of the things we fear and are our greatest teachers to confront and integrate. Hence, they challenge us into our greatness by teaching us the things we run away from wanting to learn and know about ourselves. Shadow totems are cryptic, but valuable teachers that are worthy of our developing a new relationship with. Rather than swatting away annoying insects, ask them what they have to share and then be still and listen. And try to avoid the expectations of “fast” results when working with these shadow totems, as the shadow parts of ourselves can sometimes require a consistent fortitude of effort to work with and process, but the results are worthy of the effort.

I watched on as the fleas have taken their sweet time to leave from little Joy, and with each passing day I’ve continued to ponder their message and while felt sad for little Joy to go through this, I also thought to myself, “how brave and ever-loving she is to accept this experience to help mom, along with whatever she personally was learning as well.”

Fleas are not maliciously out to get you. They simply have survival instincts themselves and are searching for the comfort of a warm and resonant home. So if they nestle into you or your animal companions, there is a strangely ironic reason, which involves the shadow parts of you seeking your comforting and warm embrace so that you can become a more empowered being.

But insects, especially Fleas, are of strong fortitude and are survivalists that easily adapt to change, so when you are going through transitions in your life (as I am), they are truly remarkable examples of what is available to each of us.

I love the powerful messages of Flea found in this short article from Paradise Found, titled “Power Animal for January 2012: Flea, by ‘Backyard Shaman’ Amy Katz, M.A.” :

The mighty flea…not Tiger, or Elephant or Whale, but Flea! Fleas are minuscule from where we are standing, so they may seem as inconsequential as stars flickering dimly in the night sky. Yet, this diminution comes from the perspective of an onlooker standing billion of miles, or light years, away: up close, stars become suns, those gargantuan infernos of explosive energy. Likewise, a flea is a powerhouse of life force and glowing determination.

The soul of a flea burns as brightly as a sun, but the little ones have the advantage of quick mobility (they can jump up to 200 times their body weight) and even invisibility, as their 1/16-1/8 inch small bodies are often undetectable to far-sighted predators. In Plato’s Apology, Socrates compared himself to a flea that buzzed in the ears of Athenians to prompt them out of their complacency and stand up for justice and truth. In Asian folklore, there are tales of monkeys that shape shift into the form of fleas to escape from demons or to elude detection. Flea teeth are as sharp as Chinese throwing stars; these tiny ninjas also have compressible bodies that make them “smush” and “scratch” resistant. Flea shows those of us who have felt victimized or powerless that we really do have tremendous influence, agility, self-preservation and protection abilities.

Flea reminds us of our resilience. The harsh criticism of others may scratch away at our self-esteem, but nothing can crush our spirits if we define ourselves from within. By seeing how big we are inside, instead of focusing on small-minded insults or transgressions from without, we harness our inner strength and can fly even without wings.

Cultivate your psychological faith and the door to your imagination will be open. Trust yourself and do not underestimate your own ability to bring about change or action. In the play Prometheus Bound by the Greek tragedian Aeschylus, the Goddess Hera changed the maiden Io into a cow for having an affair with her husband, Zeus, and then sent a gadfly to drive the creature all across the world. What issue or problem needs to be driven out of your psyche, your life, or your community this year? While others may swat at you, consider how your tenacious buzzing can move a whole stubborn herd of cattle; embody the mighty Flea!

These messages of Flea that Amy shares, speak most clearly and powerfully to me, personally, right now. I do intend to embody the “mighty” Flea.

If any animal spirit guide is contacting you, they themselves will be your own personal teacher and will speak to you directly as to what the message is. All of these things are merely helpful explorative ways to engage that process with yourself for greater personal understanding.

Roadrunner Medicine – Shifting with Grace, Ease and Agility

This weekend I was able to spend long days at the beach, while balancing my time working in the morning and evening, as well as giving myself good mental breaks from everything. One of the significant things that stood out from my time at the ocean, aside from some really powerful shifts from things I was reading, was seeing a sight I had never seen before – the mating dance of roadrunners.

I first saw a roadrunner on top of this structure on the hill that provides some shade over the benches. I mentioned that even they like to look out at the ocean, as perched up high there he could oversea the ocean ahead. As I walked, he jumped off the structure and went down the path I was going and disappeared. Then I came upon him again, but he was not alone.

He was engaged in a very unusual mating dance with a female. I’d never witnessed this before and found it really special to have them just feet away engaging in this sacred ritual. After a while though it seemed that the male got shy 🙂 and he went behind a bush and peeked out at us. It was actually really cute and then he went off in the bushes and the female who had been playing hard to get was looking around like, “Hey what happened? I’m over here!” and then scurried off to chase after HIM this time.

Being witness to this I felt, as I always do with anything I take notice of, to be symbolically messaging me. It reminded me that I did a post on the roadrunner medicine and that I had found a roadrunner feather not long ago, that sits on my altar.

After re-reading the symbolic messages that roadrunner has to share, I can see the significance and am grateful for this encounter with the two of them.

Here is the post I did on them so you can read about roadrunner symbolism and see if it speaks to you as well.

Dance of the Twin Flames

I’m happy to announce that my latest series, Universal ARKitecture, is now available in its fullness at my website www.taniamarie.com. Having such a full plate these days, I had gotten behind on updateing my website, but you can now check out the series and the latest at the link, which literally just got completed (for now). 😉

While I feel refreshed, having caught up with things, there is still quite a lot more new announcements that will be coming in. For now, you will find hints of what’s to come on the home page.

But this post is simply to share my cherished series with you all together for the first time. This is a momentous occasion for me that feels like when a mother gives birth to her children. And interestingly there are nine, so that sort of equates to the nine months of labor in a way, not to mention the perfection of a full cycle coming to closure and renewing.

All nine of these sacred animal spirit paintings can be purchased as originals or various giclees on both canvas or fine art paper to suit your desired size and affordability.

Note: “The Power of Silence” original is no longer available. But you can still purchase original-sized giclees of it and the quality of these giclees is astounding.

If you have any questions about any of these, about sizes, or if you would like to purchase several to have in your sacred space, spiritual center, yoga studio…contact me with requests.

I just today shipped off all 9 original sized giclees on canvas overseas to a healing center and I couldn’t be more honored, as this is the perfect mirror of how I see the paintings I create being utilized – to support others through the energy they convey and that they are imbued with, which assists shifting into new and empowered experiences.

Explore the series of 9 and read about their collective and individual meanings here: Universal ARKitecture

I have also written individual posts on each that you can peruse by name on this blog.

Roadrunner Medicine – Shifting with Grace, Ease and Agility

The Universe speaks to us daily if we are open to receiving, which may mean upping our presence and awareness so we can catch wind of the whispering message. Many times the symbolism comes through nature, animal spirit guides, number sequences, things people say, encounters, our bodies, through challenges, or a sign you literally or symbolically receive.

I choose to see everything as symbolic and a message…that’s just my magickal way of living and it serves my life well.

I always see a lot of animal spirit guide wisdom when I’m out in nature and last weekend was no exclusion to this. Tons of dolphins, lots of Monarch butterflies, various birds -hawk, turkey vulture, seagull, roadrunner, quail, with newly hatched itty bitty ones, horned toad lizard, and toad. Some of these new in my experience, others, seem to be regulars. 🙂

But two really stood out and that was finding a full shedded snake skin and a roadrunner tail feather.

I loved the symbolism of the snake skin. Already knowing and having written about the snake symbolism and our being in the year of the snake, I found it especially potent to discover this. To me, speaking to shedding off the old in fullness of renewal that is birthing. That is exactly what it feels like.

roadrunnerAnd the roadrunner tail feather felt very special and powerful too. It appeared about an hour after seeing a road runner and just minutes before discovering the snake skin.

Roadrunners teach us many things and the crest on its head particularly speaks to including quick thinking and agility, mental sharpness, fast responses and reflexes, and knowing when to strike in timely alignment, quickly and efficiently with precision and utter focus. Roadrunner shows the direction to take that will be of best use of proper resources, energy, timing and speed in order to make quick changes with harmony and grace. The crest to me also signifies higher thinking and aligning with Universal Consciousness and bringing that into the Earth experience (since they run closely to the ground) to use alchemy in order to bulls eye intentions.

They represent the ability to move easily between dimensions, change directions in an instance, change any circumstance by shifting perspectives and thoughts, and also teach us about self-honor and self-nurturing coming first in order to remain balanced and to be able to support others from this place of harmony and strength.

Roadrunner can also catch snakes and eat them while they go about their business (often seen running while a snake hangs from their beak)…interesting having discovered the snake skin after the Roadrunner tail feather. This speaks to being able to multi-task and digest things slowly – that what we learn can always be digested later and is percolating in the background regardless of if we understand its meaning at the time. It is not necessary to always understand the meaning of something immediately. Allowing time for reflection and digestion will bring the message when it is ready and in the mean time, the benefits are still taking effect.

All of this speaks perfectly to me and the medicine I strongly feel present around. It also feels very supportive to the collective energy in helping us all process things more quickly as we are shifting, and in aiding that process to be much easier and developmental of the abilities we have latent. Change is natural and inevitable. Changing with grace and embrace is key to harmony.

I am grateful for the gift of this beautiful and powerful feather that fell through the dimensional door I have entered.

road runnerI love this sharing that comes from Shirley TwoFeathers on The Metaphysical Roadrunner that offers more insight into the symbolism of Roadrunner medicine:

OK… so I found the definitive information on what Roadrunners represent as totems and messages from spirit. The short version looks like this: Roadrunner represents quick thinking, being able to shift dimensions easily, and being able to switch directions quickly.

For a more in depth understanding, there’s all this:

Roadrunners are ground dwelling cuckoos ranging in length from 20 to 24 inches from the tip of its tail to the end of its beak. Legend has it that the roadrunner got its name from running on the road alongside horse drawn carriages. Also known as the chaparral cock this legendary bird is famous for its distinctive appearance, its ability to eat rattlesnakes and its preferences for scooting across the American deserts as seen in Warner Brothers cartoons.

Because of its lightening quickness, the roadrunner is one of the few animals that preys upon rattlesnakes. Using its wings like a matador’s cape, it snaps up a coiled rattlesnake by the tail, cracks it like a whip and repeatedly slams its head against the ground till dead. It then swallows its prey whole, but is often unable to swallow the entire length at one time. This does not stop the roadrunner from its normal routine. It will continue to meander about with the snake dangling from its mouth, consuming another inch or two as the snake slowly digests.

Although speed is its ally time is irrelevant to the roadrunner. It can do several things at once and isn’t bothered with completing one thing before moving on to the next. This is partly due to its great mental agility represented by the crest on its head.. Many native cultures believe a “crest” symbolizes quick and efficient thinking capabilities. Those with this medicine have the ability to think quickly on their feet, flow with rapid change and understand the proper use of speed.

The roadrunner is a large black and white mottled ground bird. It has strong feet, a long tail and an over sized bill. It can run up to 17 miles per hour. When the roadrunner senses danger or is traveling downhill, it flies, but it cannot keep its large body airborne for more than a few seconds and so, it prefers walking or running. It has a clownish gait when running or walking and reminds us to laugh with ourselves and not take things too seriously.

The roadrunner is a vocal bird producing a variety of sounds from crows, chuckles, clacking and coos. Roadrunner asks us to use sound to benefit ourselves. Distract unwanted influences or say the right thing at the right time. By listening to the roadrunner we discover the right tone to use in any situation from a low coo to a screeching chuckle. Sound as well as speed can pierce through a situation and change its energy. Shamans are known to use both to shape shift realities when necessary.

Roadrunners are uniquely suited to desert environments and inhabit open, flat or rolling terrain with scattered cover of dry brush, chaparral or other desert scrub. When spring arrives, the male roadrunner acquires food for himself and then offers choice morsels to a female as an inducement to mating. He often dances around her while she begs for food, then gives her the morsel after breeding briefly. Roadrunner teaches us the importance of honoring our personal needs first before giving to others. Some might think of this as a selfish act but in truth it is a balanced one. Although roadrunner has an ulterior motive when offering the female food (that of breeding) it carries the message of survival. Take care of yourself first and then assist others.

Because roadrunner is always thinking of ways to get what it wants it reminds those with this medicine to use the ingenuity of their minds. If a problem occurs “think” yourself out of it. Highly intelligent, roadrunner medicine people have the mental capabilities to fix or change any situation. Procrastination is not part of this medicine. Roadrunner reminds us that mental alertness, speedy action coupled with the right use of sound always produces harmonious outcomes.

Unicorn of the Sea – Dream Messages from the Narwhal

Last night I had an unusual dream in which I was swimming with a white Narwhal. This Animal Spirit has never shown up before, so I found it particularly interesting and worth looking into. The dream was extensive, overlapping other elements, but the part involving the Narwhal was quite beautiful.

I had first been swimming in relatively shallow waters, that almost seemed to be inside some large vast area, which was like a large, dark cave. As I swam I engaged with different sea creatures including what seemed to be a shark, but upon the shark approaching it turned into this lovely Narwhal with a very long tusk.

It gently swam around me and seemed to almost delicately dance with me in the water, as it gingerly moved its tusk around, front and back, to my sides, between my legs, yet without ever touching. It seemed to be very conscious of not hurting me with it and yet engaging with me in an energetic and beautiful way.

Narwhals are rarely seen, very social, Arctic whales that swim in pods like the dolphins. In general, not much is fully known about these unique cetaceans. In the winter they are found deep-water beneath the ice packs in groups of 5-10, but in the summer they migrate to shallow, ice-free summer grounds and congregate with larger groups – they often travel in groups of 20 or 30 and form herds of up to 1,000 during migrations. Rarely are they far from ice, but some times in the summer they enter estuaries, deep fjords, and bays.  They are a very vocal species of whale, making clicks, squeals, and whistles to communicate and navigate. They are darkest when born with mottled blackish-brown markings on white background and with age they become whiter – old males becoming almost completely pure white (just like our Unicorn friends).

The most visibly unique characteristic of the Narwhal is its single (rarely double) very long tusk, which ultimately is a  tooth. All Narwhals have two teeth in their upper jaw, otherwise they are completely toothless. After the first year of a male’s life, his left tooth begins to grow spirally outward from the left side of the upper jaw and forms a left-handed helix (counterclockwise direction). The tusk continues to grow throughout life and can get 12-18 feet long and has a hollow interior. Roughly 1 in 500 males have two tusks, which happens when the right tooth also grows out. Females have shorter, straighter tusks and only one is recorded to ever have 2.

There are different theories about their tusks, although uncertain – perhaps used as a jousting weapon in courtship and dominance rivalry, in obtaining food, and/or for channeling and amplifying sonar pulses, which they emit. The tusk is not used in hunting. Tusking is a behavior in which male narwhals rub their tusks together – perhaps determining dominance in the group. Another broadly accepted theory for the tusk’s role is as a secondary sexual characteristic much like the lion’s mane or peacock’s feathers. It may also be a sensory organ.

In any event, in my dream it seemed the use of the Narwhal’s tusk was more aligned with the channeling of sonar pulses in an energetic sacred water dance.

In medieval times, Narwhal sightings were linked with the Unicorn legends. Medieval Europeans believed the washed-ashore tusks to be the horns from the mythical and legendary Unicorn and were considered to have magic powers, including the ability to cure poison and melancholia. For this reason, they were very valuable to the Vikings and other northern traders.

Animal Spirit Guides/Totems/Power Animals are essential to shamanic practice, as shamans believe that everyone has power animals. These power animals act as guides or angels, imbuing their individual energy, power and wisdom to guide, heal and protect you. They provide the wisdom of their kind and are not only limited to mammals, but can also be reptiles, insects and sea creatures. Any living creature can serve as a power animal and plants and trees can serve as plant spirit guides, providing their own wisdom.

So of course when the very unique, white Narwhal showed up for me in a clear dream I could recall, it seemed significant to do some research and understand this mystical creature and its messages of energetic support to me – both in terms of its natural behaviors and its mystical symbolism. Being one who pays attention to and reads signs, I know there was something to learn, a code to unravel, it was a key to unlock something, or it was a magical connection to support change, the current experiences I’m navigating, and new doors I’m going through.

The one thing I HAVE always known of the Narwhal is that it is considered to be the “Sea Unicorn.” And that in and of itself sheds layers of deep and meaningful symbolism. They are also known as the shape-shifting servant to the Sea Goddess and since the tusk is connected with that of the Unicorn’s, they carry similar wisdom of its magic, but rather than reigning the realm of the faeries and forests, the Narwhal reigns as the enchanted being of the sea.

Other meanings of their wisdom and symbolism I found include:

  • nourishing others
  • interaction between people and nature
  • understanding the meaningfulness and depth of issues – diving below the surface – they’re known to dive extremely deep in very chilly, dark, unknown ocean bottoms to search for food
  • understanding more deeply than others in general
  • freedom/resisting captivity (they are not known to do well in captivity at all and tend to die there)
  • their ability to break the ice lends to being able to poke holes in false fronts and the theories of others
  • ability to detect subtle changes in the environment in order to avoid becoming trapped
  • the body as a weapon
  • balance
  • achievement
  • mystery – so much about them and what they do and how they spend their time is unknown
  • magic – their tusks were used to make cups thought to negate any poison

I found its behavior in my dream, interacting so intimately with me, to be significant too, when I discovered that they are shy of humans, even though quite social among their kind exclusively. There was definite deliberate connecting being made. And upon further investigation of this information and coming to understand their unique qualities and symbolism, shared here and received through sensing, I can definitely connect the dots why this magical being journeyed with me last night. Not to mention, I did ask questions to be revealed in dream time when my head hit the pillow. 🙂

Always grateful for the gifts received.

Prints Now Available of the First 5 Paintings of Universal ARKitecture – Plus, Once in a Blue Moon Revealed for the First Time

As I mentioned a week ago, I completed the 5th painting in my new series, Universal ARKitecture, called Once in a Blue Moon and this felt like the first cycle of energetic closure in the series before embarking on the the next cycles within the 28 pieces still to come! (there will be 33 in all).

These new pieces are VERY precious channelings that I so enjoy creating. I look forward to the rest that will emerge in their synchronous unfolding, and the energy they will each have to share.

For those who have been inquiring, I’m so excited to announce that prints are finally available! Yay! AND, for the first time I am able to provide professional, vibrant and clear images of the paintings that have never before been seen, which will provide much more to the experience of them now that they’ve been captured with clarity. This will also be the first time that Once in a Blue Moon has been revealed and I felt it appropriate to do so when all five were ready as a group to launch together. The first four I blogged on over the months, as they each came into manifestation. You can search them by name in the blog if you want to read about any of them again.

As always, the in-person experience is a whole other thing, but these images are sure to evoke an energy shift nonetheless, in viewing them.

Personal observational note that just clicked: Since this is the first time I’ve seen them all together in one place on-screen as well, it was the first time I saw something symbolic about them and why doing the first 5 feels like the first cycle of closure. For those that remember my In Lak’ech series, you will recall that they represent each of the 5 elements – Fire, Earth, Air, Water, and Spirit. As I viewed these first new 5 together it suddenly hit me that energetically they also resonate with the elements in a way, in a slightly different order – Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Spirit. Although they each clearly could have overlapping elements in each, this could also be a new energetic vibration of the elements channeling through for 2012. Very cool and fun to explore the meanings! Especially if you realize the symbolism shifts between both sets. 🙂 And very interesting that the only element that remained in its original #5 placement is Spirit, which both have the rabbit symbolism and Nestor in them. The other elements reversed order in groups of two – Earth and Fire switched places and Water and Air switched places.

To view the print options available for each painting, and to order, please view them here on my website. Originals also available:
