Incredible Humpback Whale Sighting ~ Alaska is Calling Again
Reminiscing about Alaska, as my parents just recently returned from 16 days spent there, returning the same day home that I did from British Columbia.
They had a spectacular time spending one week cruising and the rest of the time on land exploring the great wonders and gifts of Alaska’s outdoors.
I got to hear about their adventures, as they were having them and we shared about things we both experienced, as I was just there last August – one of my most cherished and favorite trips ever.
One of the spectacular things my parents were gifted to experience was an extremely rare sighting of 15 Humpback Whales doing what is called a “bubble net lunge feed” (as seen in the photo above that my dad took) where the Whales go under the water and blow bubbles in a circular motion to confuse and surround the fish. This causes them to congregate and forces them towards the surface near the center of this circle.
There is then an explosion of air, as the Whales surface all together at once, in the center of the bubble circle with their mouths open wide to catch their meal. They literally lunge through the congregating fish with gaping mouth, which causes an explosion at the surface of both food and water, as well as different calls from the Whales.
Groups of Humpback Whales feeding together will create an array of calls ranging from short grunts to long, hollow ones.
The Seagulls sense right away it’s happening and congregate above to catch, or steal, any left overs that they can.
What an incredible sighting and experience they had, which my dad caught one photo of. The guide shared that this is so rare to have the opportunity to see, but my parents kept experiencing many of these “rare” sightings, which I was really grateful they had the chance to see and receive.
Synchronously, my dear friend Hillary posted a short video of a man who saw this same sighting the day my parents did, right before I headed to British Columbia. In the video, which was shared by the local news in Alaska, the man was going crazy with ecstatic surprise at seeing the 15 Humpback Whales coming up all at once, surrounded by the Seagulls. It was fun to catch it live, after having just heard about the experience from my parents.
I’m so grateful my parents had the opportunity to immerse in Alaska’s nature. They’ve been so accustomed to trips exploring culture, architecture, art, and history, that this was a really refreshing and grounding journey for them.
They got the chance to see and experience every imaginable creature there was to see while on their journey including Orcas, Dolphins, Whales, Sea Lions, tons of Bald Eagles in the rainforest and other Birds , Bears and Bear cubs, Mountain Goats, Moose…you name it!
Made me excited to return there again soon. I can’t wait!
Alaska continues to call to my heart.
Magdalene’s Feast Day – The Inner Way of Mary Magdalene (redux)
Wonderful post by Jamie…and reblog by Laura… on Mary Magdalene and her significance.
So Much Cuteness!
There’s just way too much cuteness going on here….I say, “keep it coming!”
I couldn’t resist snapping these photos of Joy and Cosmo sharing everything together.
Took a couple last night and one this morning. They aren’t the clearest or best photos since it was just a quick “in the moment” capture, but they sure still are cute.
I can hardly contain myself at how irresistibly adorable they are. And I don’t!
It just bubbles up inside me and bursts and oozes through every fiber of my being until I’m just a big mush of softness and love.
Here they are last night having dinner together in their matching carrot bowls.
Then sharing a drink of goji juice infused alkaline/ionized water.
And this morning finishing off breakfast “in bed” enjoying Timothy Hay together after their dandelion, cilantro, and parsley appetizer, topped off with a tiny pineapple surprise.
I fall in love more and more every moment of each day.
There truly is no limit to how much your heart can richly expand, despite losses and pains…it WILL and CAN continue to deepen and grow because of it all.
Thank you Nestor and Gaia for all that you have and continue to contribute to our lives. <3
Softening Into Consciousness
What is consciousness?
A simple way to look at it, as I’m all about making things simple, is that it’s an experience of being in a relaxed state of heightened awareness, on all levels, where your mind is quiet, yet gently, softly, and easily focused on what is going on in and around you right here and now.
It’s about surrendering to, being and staying in the present moment, not trying so hard, releasing all judgments and expectations, and learning how to be more fully engaged in life, what is showing up, and how you’re showing up.
How can you embrace more consciousness in your life today?

Magickal Flowers That Look Crystalline When Touched By Water
A dear friend of mine shared these magickal flowers, called Skeleton Flowers, with me and I thought I’d share them with you, if in fact like myself, you’ve never seen them before.
Talk about Faery flowers!
They are white woodland blossoms found in only colder regions of Japan, China, and the Appalachian Mountains of the U.S. that turn crystal clear when water comes in contact with their petals. In the summer, the flowers fall from their stems and are replaced by blueberries.

Quick Happy Bunny Update
So I shared in a previous post that Joy and Cosmo were now fully bonded and that my next step was transitioning Cosmo out of his pen, at this point only for peeing purposes since they are happily best buds.
Before I headed out for the Reiki and Horses retreat I had been slowly doing this for a few days where I’d keep him out all day on towels and pee pads to make sure he was continuing to treat his pee pads as his litter box, just as he’d demonstrated so intelligently and respectfully in other situations.
I mentioned that he would hold his need to urinate and would never do so while I was holding him or had him out exercising and snuggling, until I placed him in his pen on his pee pad and then he would release.
I felt he had connected that his pee pads, since he can feel their difference to the touch, were his litter box, since he’s not been able to use a litter box after his injury.
His foster family mentioned they’d at first gotten a litter box without a side so he could go in it, but then went back to one with a side and didn’t know why they did so, but this trained him out of the box and onto the floor/towels.
Whether that’s accurate or not, doesn’t matter at this point, but he is very smart and he knows what to do. So pee pads are his litter box and I’ve had his hay/litter box cut on the side so he can pull himself in easily to eat, and perhaps maybe at some point he’ll relearn to go only there to pee.
In the meantime, he did awesome those days before I left. I originally thought I’d see if things worked consistently for about a month before getting rid of the pen, but like with most things in my life, that idea got thrown out the window the day after I arrived home.
I instantly got the voice in my head….now’s the time!
And so I completely moved out the pen and his special little baby tub I had to hold him in while cleaning it, rearranged my room back, even did a little bit of shifting/redecorating my shelf energy of crystals and altar, and created open space again.
I then decided the bunnies and I would share my area rug where my chair and desks sit. So half of it has become bunny playland and haven, equipped with layers of yoga mat for extra cushioning and protection, four towels, and four pee pads.
I created a little towel area under the right side of my desk to the right of my feet, as Cosmo likes to rest and sleep there. Here I put the pee pad under the towel to capture anything that might happen, but left it just as towels, as he really likes the feel of them more for cuddling in.
At first I was still keeping their two hay/litter boxes, as I had to make sure Joy was okay with sharing and switching to one with him.
It didn’t take long for that, as immediately the two of them jumped into his smaller one and were side by side nuzzling and eating together.
So, after one day of that, I immediately nixed his small hay box and replaced it with a much larger one they both could fit in fully if they want, with plenty of extra room.
And I’m happy to say, it, as everything else, has been a huge success.
I ended up revamping things and got them both better little water dishes for their water and goji juice blend I give them, cleaned and cleared things, continue to intuit how I can make anything better, taking cues from them and what works and doesn’t, and now we’re all one big happy rabbit warren family!
I’ve also noticed that he stays so much cleaner now, everything actually stays cleaner, I’m able to help him more easily and constantly throughout the day with a lot of things I won’t go into detail about, and so overall it’s just a huge benefit in every way to all.
Lots of clear space for energy to move now, tons of freedom for all, and so much joy, love, and peace in the room.
The great thing is that Joy can go off into the rest of the house and her living room sanctuary spot whenever she likes and wants some “Joy” time (which she does now and then), but then the two of them can share the rest of the time together here.
But the cool thing is that Cosmo actually honors that half of the carpet and room is for Joy and he stays on his side to give her space. Have I mentioned how incredibly respectful he is? The two of them are amazing!
And the other great thing is that Cosmo is not constrained anymore by boundaries, is able to be with me all day in this capacity, and the two of them are enjoying having a best buddy.
What’s been so fulfilling and enriching for me is to see the two of them together so happy and loving. I’ve never had two rabbits at the same time…only one at a time, so this is really a beautiful and special experience for me. And I love how much of a cohesive team the three of us are.
The other extremely important and touching thing for me has been seeing how happy Cosmo is with this.
It’s not something I could have done until they were both ready, so I know there was a timing on that, but to see how even more at peace he is, is such an invaluable gift.
He sleeps more contently, comfortably, and peacefully. He used to always be on alert in the pen and never really looked like he was getting the best sleep or getting comfortable like bunnies can. Now, I see him fully laid out on his side, front paws curled, and completely out in a deep sleep like Joy gets when she sleeps. I actually have to check sometimes if he’s still breathing, he’s that comfortable! He doesn’t stir as much and when I enter the room there isn’t that sense of “I want to get to you, hurry come here to me energy.”
He is just really, REALLY happy and at peace and like a load has lifted from him that is allowing him to just “be”.
That means the world to me, as I hated having him in the pen since I’ve never believed in cages and any constraints for the bunnies being necessary. And loving my own freedom, I want to create the same for them. In this case it was for his own protection and his condition, but I’m so grateful that we were able to get to this place we’re at now and am only looking forward from here.
I also know that life is fragile and the idea of something happening to him while he was in the pen made me so upset. And so I think part of the immediate pen removal when I got back from this weekend, was my connecting more deeply to my essence and reflecting that for him, wanting him to be in the freedom of his essence too, and always.
Every time I look at him, he’s just so content. And so I am so content.
And everyday he’s taking things to another level, as I’ve just started noticing that he’s pulling himself more fully into his hay/litter box and seems to be starting to learn he can do his thing in there instead of the pee pads. So we’ll see!!
Joy may be teaching him this again, since she is using the litter box they share, and he remembers how it used to be.
He’s such a good, intelligent, and caring boy. I’m so blessed to have him with us.
And although right now he is experiencing some different challenges with his spinal condition, the only thing that I’m focused on is ensuring he is loved beyond words, supported in his most joyous self, is surrounded with peace, and is the happiest and healthiest I can possible help him to be.
Thank you Joy for welcoming Cosmo into your heart and taking him under your wing. Your loving support and courage is a beautiful example for him.
And Cosmo, thank you for sharing your compassion, love, and your strength with Joy, as she has truly shifted so much upon your arrival into our lives.
I’m beyond the word love when it comes to these two.
Self-Judgment: Our Excuses Not to Live ~ Lee Harris
This is a great, new quick how-to from Lee Harris that is so now relevant and the themes are what I hear over and over coming up for people who are so close to making the shifts and changes they want towards the new in their lives, but are hitting the judgment dialogue within that is creating the fear wall.
These self-judgments become our self-sabotaging excuses.
Lee provides some easy ways to move through this, which resonate with my own. Questions and being curious are key, as well as sitting with the honest vulnerability of the answers, and then allowing the feelings to move through you without judgment. Feelings aren’t bad…their just feelings…energy expressions.
Energy wants to move. WE are the ones that block them. When you allow yourself to feel them, you invite their movement through you.
Do you find yourself hindered by the things you tell yourself and allow yourself to believe about yourself?
These quick how-to’s can help you to start living.

White Butterfly, Garden Delights & Magick Ovens
Yesterday I took my lunch break out back on the deck before doing a little pruning and watering of my Garden Tower, which is almost about ready for some more harvesting.
I had just enjoyed a plate of Heirloom Sun Gold Cherry Tomatoes, Heirloom Golden Tomatoes, and Heirloom White Wonder Cucumbers from the Garden Tower the night before, which was incredible. I sliced them up and created little bite-sized morsels with others, drizzled with shitake sesame dressing and ground black pepper. Everything is just so beautiful and fresh.
As I sat outside for lunch enjoying my delicious garlic tahini kale salad with avocado and ground black pepper, along with carrots and hummus, I listened to the birds and watched the little insects flying around.
That’s when White Butterfly appeared.
She stayed with me all lunch and after, as I was tending to my Garden Tower. As I sat eating, I watched her go to each of the plants on my GT, spreading her grace. Fluttering like a whisper and coming to softly land only for moments on each of the plants. It was like she was sprinkling her magick upon all of them, just as I’ve asked the Faeries to do.
She would also briefly go over to the plants I have sitting next to the GT, my Lavender, Peppermint, and Chocolate Mint, as well as the Star Jasmine. And when I ventured over to her, she would dance around me and air-kiss me with her whispers of lightness…coming into the aura of my cupped hand, but the two of us remaining free to explore one another in continual dance.
I watched her float like a feather, and drop into these free-falls of trusting partnership with the breeze delicately supporting her ease of grace.
It was so beautiful. She was so beautiful.
Not only did it feel like she was there nurturing my plants, but she was there to connect with me and reflect this new place I find myself in.
Butterflies symbolize ecstasy, playfulness, and lightness of being – some of my message reiterations from my weekend with the horses at Epona Rise.
They are about powerful expansion and growth, the kind that comes from a very deep transformational process that is more internal and has the potential of completely changing your life as you know it. The changes can be done with grace and lightness, however, which she reminds us.
Butterflies in Native American Indian traditions are also considered the “bringers of dreams” – helping to manifest those that you have and providing clarity in dream time.
They are also about freedom transcendence, the Divine Feminine, magick of believing, helping you to release fears, the experience of transformation by going very deeply into your cocoon, moving through life cycles, grace, beauty, and even Reiki healing.
Not to mention, they remind us to tune into our emotional or spiritual depths to see what is messaging us there.
They are from the world of the soul, symbolize immortality, and herald a time of renewal and rebirthing.
White butterflies especially so.
White butterflies have been seen as good luck, angels in disguise, past spirits and souls visiting us, ancestors, purity and a pure soul, a guardian spirit to usher you along your new path, to some it is the soul of a child, and to others the sign of death – both literal and symbolic.
It’s interesting that white keeps showing up for me so much, as I’ve had the very powerful and important dreams with White Jaguar and White Conch, and then of course White Unicorn energy around this last weekend and connecting with Tareena the Unicorn in embodiment at Epona Rise, followed by my sighting of White Peacock on my way to the airport and then White Feather showing up on Tuesday at the beach.
Butterflies live a miraculous life from beginning to end and their lifespan is very short – typically a few weeks to months at most – which messages us about the importance of this now moment and embracing all the sweetness and beauty life can offer.
I was grateful for this private lunchtime interlude with her, as I’m experiencing an increase in the magickal – if you can believe that. It stems from a deeper drop and embrace into that part of myself. Since I’ve returned from British Columbia, things have been manifesting and unfolding quickly.
Yesterday, while I was out in the garden I also received the delievery of my new Sun Oven! I’m so excited and grateful to Laura for the inspiration. She’s been hugely a part of inspiring my version of easy gardening by Faery heart and intuition, and inspiring all of these off-grid cooking methods that feel so aligned with me and my lifestyle.
I fell in love with her Sun Oven while I was visiting and felt it would be perfect for my adventures ahead, and not to mention makes food taste amazing, while receiving the Sun’s pure energy infused into it. While I own a dehydrator, I’m guessing this Sun Oven will outshine that quite quickly. As even the names – dehydrator vs. Sun Oven – just has more resonance right now. Anything natural and naturally energy infused just simply matches the purity and freshness I am feeling.
Funny synchronicity too, as Hillary and I both shared this last weekend how much we’ve always been drawn to the Moon, which we still are of course, but that having done so much work with her, we have shifted into Sun energy more recently. This has also been evident in the Crystals I’ve been drawn to and the energies/Chakras I’ve been working with. I actually was drawn to wear Sun gold yellow nailpolish for our retreat weekend with gold sparkles. 😉
Needless to say, between my wonder oven (aka wonderbox/bag that the lovely Laura made and gifted me for Christmas and I’ve made yummy, easy quinoa in so far, as well as kept soups warm), Garden Tower (I actually have two, but the other I’m saving), and Sun Oven, I’m feeling the Sun-shiny goodness! Everything ready for off-grid cooking now and on the adventures to come! I’ll share more about how things go with my Sun Oven, as I explore it.
For more information on the Sun Oven and Wonder Oven please visit Laura’s great post on these here:
Preliminary Review of Off-Grid Cooking Methods
So much increased alignment into my essence is taking place and I’m so grateful for all of the beautiful gifts, messages, synchronicities, and inspiration dancing through.
