A Grateful Day…Every Day
My dear friend, and officiant for our Summer Solstice wedding, shared this beautiful video message with me yesterday and it felt perfect to pass along to all of you today.
Whether I’ve met you in person or not, have spoken or messaged with you or not, had any interaction of any sort or not – you are felt, you are seen, you are appreciated, you are a part of me.
May we experience every day like it’s the first and the last so that each moment, every person, and every part of creative consciousness around us has a place in our hearts.
I am another yourself. You are another myself. In Lak’ech Ala K’in ~ the Mayan principle of Universal Love.

Pure Gratitude: A White Thanksgiving
I wake with extra gratitude this morning for a wish come true and heart full of gratitude! We woke to a white Thanksgiving this morning and magick blanketed all around. We were out late last night, which is highly unusual for us early-to-bed kids, but we had friends in town visiting, which put us outside witnessing the first falling snow and snowflakes sprinkling our hair, as we dashed in and out of destinations. It also created quite a contrast that found us sharing a very deep discussion into the wee hours of the night about the meaning of life, what’s really important, and having gratitude for those things with an extra layer of new tenderness while sitting up on the 18th floor of a casino in a bar overlooking the falling snow. I, of course, was only drinking a sparkling water splashed with fruity fun that looked like a tropical drink that could whisk you away on a beach somewhere.
The point is, no matter what I’m doing, even if it seems out-of-character, I always find some nugget of a gift to be grateful for and the contrasts usually help to highlight things even more.
Nature helps with that too, and the more time spent outside, the more you experience the richness of life that is always walking beside you, despite your sometimes not being able to see and embrace it.
I shared a post of gratitude on my Instagram to all of my friends and connections there this past week, which was prompted by a big hike out in nature that had me reflecting on all of the things to be grateful for.
And I now want to extend that same message here to those of you who have been with me through all of my creative evolutions, challenges, and celebrations and who have shared your own journeys and experiences of inspiration and growth.
I’m grateful for all that you contribute to the collective in all the myriad of expressions and experiences that create this colorful tapestry of life as we know it and unfolding magick within the Great Mystery.
Together, we move mountains and paint masterpieces.
Thank you for sharing your love, support, gifts, and incredibly unique sparks of beauty with me and the world. There is so much to be grateful for and today is a reminder to make that a regular practice, just like infusing fun into your life is fundamentally important, as they both are life-changers.
I just wanted to share a little message of thanks, as we’re heading off here for some snow-shoeing out into the Winter Wonderland that awaits us before celebrating this day with friends at a giant vegan potluck Thanksgiving, bringing together a collective community here beaming out joyful wishes to all.
I will be holding thoughts of love, gratitude, and hope with every step I plunge into the pure white snow.
Astrid and the kitty babies send their good wishes of wonder and joy too!
Gratitude Expanding
I know that today is a day of various forms of feasting and celebrations and for me this day of sharing gratitude is also an extension of expressing my compassion and to be in presence of the life I have chosen to live as a direct mirror of that. This, however, is not limited to just this one day, but is a consistent, daily experience I choose to deepen into a more intimate relationship with. For me, compassion extends to all of life, every day of my life. There hasn’t been (for the last 12+ years), and won’t be, any animals in or on my body as long as I’m breathing simply because my soul recognizes the sacred relationship I have with these spirits in animal bodies as my family and as the powerful beings that they are who have chosen a different form to inhabit for reasons we have yet to fully grasp in the bigger picture. My spirit sees no boundaries between people of all colors and races, animals, plants, elements, and those from beyond this realm. For me, we are all consciousness expressing through different vehicles, the intelligence of the creative heart – each beautiful, worthy, and inherently deserving of my reverence and love. This is the life I have chosen to live for the rest of my days here on Earth and for all of eternity where ever I may be beyond that. And this has supported the vibration I choose to embody that reflects the frequency of my origins.
There is no all-ideal way since everything in some way still is tied into some form or another that doesn’t support my desires, but I do choose the best I can to live a life that most closely connects me to my heart resonance and I realize the perfection of it all despite my feelings.
So while today is about gratitude for many things and the people in our life, I am also giving thanks to and celebrating creative extensions of love, life for turkeys, and all of Mother Earth’s creatures and children on this day of gratitude and every day that deserves our gratitude. Every extension of consciousness, to me, is precious, equally valuable, and embodies wisdom and lessons that each so bravely and lovingly share with us to receive.
In addition, today I am really anchoring in an even greater presence of recognition and love for everything and everyone in my life that has contributed to this new journey and shift I find myself embarking on – to which we are all interconnected to in our own relative ways and reflections of these shifts.
We originally thought we might be moving in to our new home today, but instead will be on Saturday – just two nights remaining in this tree house above the lake we’ve called home for over a year now. There is so much to sit in presence with and so much here that has ignited and supported all the new in motion. From this place in the sky I have been able to be in things, but not of them, allowing me to experience my own reality and tap into the clearest channel of what is next for me, as an extension of my creative origins here. So much is here that has ignited and supported all the new in motion and it is no wonder we remain still on Thanksgiving in this creative brainstorming and expansive embodiment of new vision, to anchor all of that in before moving on.
Today we will be moving more boxes to the new home (we’ve been doing some each day to make that easier). This is a very deliberate and present experience since each time we carry down boxes to the car we are traversing 105 steps each way. That seems significant and symbolic on many levels and layers. Not to mention, definitely is keeping us fit and me very conscious of every single step being grounded safely and securely! It is also quite perfect that my foot healed just before this all became necessary. I have new feet to carry me forth!
I will be spending this morning baking some vegan goodies to share with two of our amazing contractor teams that are working on Thanksgiving to help bring our new home together for us. This is a way I can extend gratitude to them, as they truly have been working so hard and giving their all to helping us. Last week I did the same for our drywall team who were incredible. Today it’s our painter and flooring crews.
Alongside moving more boxes down to the house today, we’ll be enjoying our forest yard a bit before joining a vegan Thanksgiving celebration we were invited to, which was perfect since we haven’t been out doing anything other than home stuff and nature walks. So we are grateful to be nurtured by all the vegan community we have here to give us a nice break before our last two days of big-time shifting.
Which brings me to a sweet symbolic thing that happened yesterday. So small an experience, but not unnoticed by me.
While at the new house yesterday handling things, I walked up to the entry where one of our contractors was putting our new front door on and literally right at the threshold of the doorway I found a precious little tannish brown feather – imperfectly perfect, as has been this process.
Our entry is quite long to the door and covered above, so this truly felt to be a welcoming gift and sweet blessing..so befitting having this new door created to access a whole new portal of experience that awaits in this home.
Days lately have thrown us curve balls and surprises, but it has all pointed to surrendering into flexibility and understanding how these things are actually gifts, which in fact they are because each not only creates a deliberate presence and slowing down, but weaves an even better outcome into being because of this. You have to giggle at some of it when it happens. Too much to share, but definitely this huge remodeling project is much more than about a house….it’s about a whole new embodiment we are creating and rewiring on all levels, which it reflects.
Every aspect of life is something inherently beautiful and provides hidden treasures to be grateful for.
I know that during the holidays there is not only an increase of togetherness that is experienced, but can also herald an experience of separation and bring up feelings of loss, sadness, or of being alone.
For everyone experiencing separation in one form or another, whether through physical transitions of loved ones, the inability to be with loved ones, or even feelings of being fragmented, lost, or disconnected from parts of yourself I wish for you to know on some level that perhaps right now your feelings can’t grasp, but will be heard within the very essence of your spirit and the DNA of your beingness.
Even though you feel or physically sense that there is something or some part that is away from your body right now, within your heart there is always an open portal of connection that never leaves you. This is the bridge to all unified experiences of harmony and love and where you are never alone.
With gratitude I extend a hand on one side of that heart bridge to welcome you home.
A Festive & Potent Thanksgiving
Yesterday we made our way down to Reno to share the day, warmth, cheer, and decadent delights with my family. It also proved quite auspicious. It’s nice to be close to them again to visit and especially so around holidays, as my parents are known for decorating the house in festive magick throughout. They are definitely the parents of a Faery, harnessing their own creative and artist alchemy to beautify and create dreamy realms that echo the heart of one’s inner child.
The photos here are but a tiny sample of how things were decorated, as they had splashes of autumn beauty everywhere.
From moment of entering their own mini castle in their little oasis sitting between two mountain ranges next to a wash and with their own season mini creek bed amidst their Faery yard, you feel and smell the welcome of entering into a place that nurtures the heart.
We shared a lovely day, enjoyed a huge feast both mom and dad prepared, followed by dad’s gourmet baked goods all made with love. They always make us everything vegan too.
The rest of the day was filled with conversation, naps for some with full tummies before dessert, and lots of metaphysical talk, and Tarot and homemade Rune fun, as we delved into explorations in both.
And we topped it all off with dad’s apple and pumpkin pie.
I marveled over how magickal the piece on my plate lit up with sparkly Faery dust and crystalline light.
Curiously, I had brought my small laptop with me, feeling like I wanted to share just the beginning of my book I’m writing with my mom, which would be the first time anyone but myself and those helping to channel it would hear it.
But apparently it was not the time even to share a glimpse of it with anyone, as when I pulled it out to do so, my computer wouldn’t turn on. The battery was completely drained, which has never happened before that quickly. And I did not bring my charger.
I got the message. It was still not time for it’s reveal.
And this occurred on a day that was filled with potent symbolism and messages leading up to arriving to my parent’s house.
Within a short span of about 35 minutes I’d seen 27 hawks. That’s incredible! They just popped up everywhere I turned. So many variety too. Some perched in trees, at the edge of meadows, on light posts, and a few flying straight at the car. All of them very very close, so I could see the full detail of their feathers, colors, faces, and incredibly powerful bodies. Each one, as if time stood still and locked in on them with a zoom lens and pause into timelessness. Amazing!
It was like an armada of sentinels and felt to be messengers from the Cosmos and my star family.
And, in the midst of the hawks, which are one of my main spirit guides, I also saw one most beautiful barn owl, which is my favorite owl and is part of my life path from here forward.
This incredible owl had unfortunately transitioned, but with such a beautiful, peaceful expression full of grace on its face. Her head turned, facing me directly.
And once again, time stood still, zoom took place locking in on her face, and another timeless pause so that she is etched in my mind’s eye.
This all felt powerfully meaningful for my life right now and what I’m involved in.
And then this morning as I was enjoying my favorite apple dumpling, my dad had made for us to bring back home, for breakfast with a homemade latte, I looked up and another incredible sighting appeared over Lake Tahoe’s portal directly in front of me where I sat at my computer.
An Arcturian symbol was etched in the sky, hovering over the Sierra Nevada Range, specifically over Mt. Tallac. This is a symbol of their main starship and one I wear in a sacred tattoo.
This is all no coincidence.
Something is afoot and it feels incredibly alchemical and much support is all around.
And so I continue forward and keep my senses on all-time high to be with what is unfolding.
There are messages everywhere and the more we open to presence and embrace, while expanding our perspectives, the more we see and receive them.
Not your completely typical Thanksgiving, but it fused Earth and Cosmos, physical and ethereal, nurturing comforts and expansive alchemy, human and star essence….my kind of celebration of life with the best of both worlds.
Gratitude Creates Alchemy
One of the ultimate spiritual lessons in life is gratitude. Gratitude for all the big AND little things…the seen AND unseen…the full gamut of experiences released from judgment and categorized value.
Focus on what there IS…not what you “think” you lack, as all things have a wider meaning with hidden gifts that reveal themselves when we release attachment and learn to understand how the highest good is always as work.
We just haven’t unwrapped the abundance yet, but the more gratitude you embrace, the more abundance you experience.
Gratitude isn’t just something to extend toward the so-called “good” things in life, but to ALL things – relinquishing the need to define, categorize, idealize, cast away, and judge them. That includes the “imperfect” that IS perfect and richly integral in our lives.
Today and always may you embrace the kind of gratitude that creates true alchemy.
Sending out deepest heart-to-heart gratitude for each and every one of you who is braving this journey together at this time in our collective experience. I know times get tough and intense, but you’re here and that speaks volumes. Thank you for your courage and love and for all of the love you’ve shared with me and others. Your light helps raise the vibration and makes more possible for us all. Keep shining and know that you are appreciated beyond measure.
Gratitude for All
It was such a sweet surprise when my friend Jayn shared with me this little creation that included a gorgeous photo of hers and the addition of a quote from me she resonated with from one of my posts.
And this morning, as I was thinking about this day of gratitude that people will be celebrating, it reminded me that gratitude isn’t just something to extend toward the so-called “good” things in life, but to ALL things – relinquishing the need to define, categorize, idealize, cast away, and judge them. That includes the “imperfect” that IS perfect and richly integral in our lives.
Today and always may you embrace the kind of gratitude that creates magick.
Gratitude, Good Gifts and Deva
Beautiful thoughts from my faery sister, Laura, on this Day of Gratitude – a day I hope each of you will extend to every single moment of life you are breathing. I’m reminded of my favorite Thanksgiving celebrations, which were non-traditional faery feasts and fun shared with Laura. Today I’ll be celebrating with a vegan buffet feast with friends. However you choose to celebrate today, I hope it is with all of your heart.
I love Laura’s alternative suggestion she shares in her post, to boycotting Black Friday’s biggest shopping day of the year, “In the spirit of giving and flow, I suggested an alternative: making homemade gifts, shopping locally, and supporting small business owners you know and love. In today’s incredibly stressful world, sometimes the gift of beautiful art, quiet relaxation and/or new found clarity is the very best thing you can offer someone who wouldn’t normally splurge on that for themselves.” This is exactly what I choose to be engaged in myself.
I know that today is also a day of various forms of feasting and for me this day of sharing gratitude is also an extension of expressing my compassion and the life I have chosen to life as a direct mirror of that. For me, compassion extends to all of life, every day of my life. There hasn’t been (for the last 8 years), and won’t be, any animals in or on my body as long as I’m breathing. So while today is about gratitude for many things and the people in our life, I am also celebrating life for turkeys and all of Mother Earth’s creatures on this day of gratitude and every day that deserves our gratitude. ❤
Just wanted to wish all my American readers an early Happy Thanksgiving and my worldwide readers a chance to focus a little extra energy in the attitude of gratitude. As Meister Eckhart said, “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.” Gratitude sets the stage for receiving and unites the giver and the gift.
Speaking of gifts, I know there’s a movement going on this year to boycott Black Friday, usually the biggest shopping day of the year. Some people are calling it Occupy (or De-Occupy) Black Friday. In the spirit of giving and flow, I suggested an alternative: making homemade gifts, shopping locally, and supporting small business owners you know and love. In today’s incredibly stressful world, sometimes the gift of beautiful art, quiet relaxation and/or new found clarity is the very best thing you can offer someone who…

Gratitude is Being “Alive”
I feel that every day should be a day of gratitude and giving thanks, but so often we forget all that we have in life to be grateful for. My wish always, when this day of thanks rolls around, is for that reminder to stick with everyone and be carried in heart eternally.
Never forget to smell the roses of your divine life and all the abundant rich foliage growth around you. You are showered with miracles, gifts and blessings, with even more available to you when you are present with acknowledgement.
Remember that you are a gift unto yourself, worthy of your gratitude. For one moment, if you stop and reflect upon who you are now as opposed to a few weeks, months, or years ago, you will be amazed to see how much you have to be grateful for and how far you have come. Your courage does not go unnoticed by Spirit. Nor, should it by you. This warrants an honoring and recognition. It’s not about what still you want to achieve, but who you are right now.
You make a contribution to the world just by being you in every moment. When you follow your heart light and live from your fullness, the collective world shines a bit brighter. And for that, I/we are grateful for you.
I can’t begin to express (as it goes to a depth a word can’t convey) the gratitude I have felt the last few days, even amidst a very busy week. I have wanted to sit down, write about it, and shout it out to the world several times because I was overflowing with tears of deep, loving gratitude for what I was experiencing, but I opted instead to pay sacred homage in other more intimate ways. Needless to say, my life has become more rich than I could have imagined in the most unsuspecting ways and places. The gifts are divine blessings mirroring the shifts in my life.
I wake up every day to a new heightened experience of my senses, awareness, expression, and connection and can feel the love in and around me so fiercely. And the literal and direct mirrors that I receive in my immediate environment and experiences reflect an invaluable presence.
It is what being “alive” is all about. And when I’m alive, recognizing and tasting the sweet preciousness of life, within and all around me, I am paying homage to this gift of human experience by living in fullness – this in turn extends my deepest gratitude for all of life.
Yes, I am grateful, but more so, I am alive.
I know many will be celebrating, are on vacations, communing with friends and family tomorrow and over this long holiday weekend and I wish everyone a beautiful, loving, safe and “alive” time in all that you do.
