Walking the Path of the Cosmic Serpent in Devils Garden
Yesterday’s trail at Devils Garden held both beauty and challenge, as we traversed the 4.2 miles of duality and deeply rooted, collective symbolism.
I had no idea that I’d be holding so much energy for all who had been called to explore the same area and energies on this day, but it became clear to me on our return route back what the theme of this journey was – reflecting the shadow and misconceptions around it.
So much so, that by the time we reached the car at end of the hike, I was energetically exhausted, having challenge staying awake while driving us back, and then feeling the need for major recharge when we got home.
The day began with the warmest temperatures we’ve had in a while – mid 70’s – which meant I got to wear my hiking dress and not get layered up.
So I put on my colorful dress I bought at a Himalayan shop in Sedona, grabbed my cowgirl hat, slipped on my favorite Chaco hiking sandals, and off we went.
This was the first day in a while that my “spiritual skin” of sacred tattoos was completely exposed, and how fitting that we were exploring Devils Garden – as I wear misunderstood symbols like the dragon and serpent, not to mention, in totality all of my dark, black, symbolic tattoos to many whose beliefs are rooted in ways different than my own, would connect to “evil”, dark, wrong, and yes, the Devil.
I even had someone once a long time ago ask me about these symbols saying they were Illuminati connected and asked me about that and if I was connected.
My only response to them was, “Only you know the answer to that by looking inside your own heart.”
I had no need to defend or explain anything. One doesn’t when they embody the truth.
So on our hike, many eyes were upon me. I received several compliments from a few people, as well as shared smiles with a few passers-by that had a tattoo or two of their own.
But apparently there were other kinds of looks too, which Dave shared with me with giggles, as he said he finds it fun and fascinating to watch some people and how they will stare or react to me – most of them being middle to older aged people and couples that come from a different generational belief system that has been strongly conditioned and rooted beyond simply ideas – but rather a programming within their DNA they react from.
And he too thought it was all compounded by the dress, sandals, cowgirl hat, AND tattoos, as no one else was dressed like that since most people have a “norm” way of dressing when hiking.
So it all created quite a looking glass, but was it “me” they saw, or something about themselves?
I explain this briefly in a very short video I felt inspired to do at our destination point on the hike – Double O Arch. I’ll share it after this post.
That felt like the perfect portal for this share, as it is an arch that has two O-shaped arches, one atop the other.
To me, this felt like mirrors of duality that reveal and reflect your belief system and the hidden energies around your beliefs on the light and the dark.
And when one can face these truths, you can move on into integrating them, which is the shared bridge between the two O’s.
There is an extension to this hike that goes further to what is called Dark Angel.
We did not feel called to go.
Well, Dave asked if I wanted to, us both feeling complete at Double O, and I said, “there’s no need to go there, as I’m holding the energy of Dark Angel right here.”
He laughed.
Interestingly, when we arrived at Double O, people dispersed, allowing me time to sit alone within the smaller portal, as Dave felt called to ascend further up the canyon and sit atop a rock there overlooking the view of the Double O and beyond, which is how he captured photos of me down below.
While he was there, and I was at the portal we would periodically hear screeches from what sounded either like a hawk, falcon, or eagle that echoed through the canyon.
We met some very nice people along the hike there and back, and exchanged some words, as well as took photos for them.
Saw many lizards and ravens – one that cawed at us from across a canyon.
The trail first led us to several cool arches – Tunnel Arch, which had two deep arches, Pine Tree Arch, which as you can tell by the name had a pine tree growing from center (I took two photos here, loving the symbolism of a little girl that was in the foreground on one reminding me of my own inner child and a book I’m reading where the woman embodies the medicine of a Native American Indian girl named Little Black Wold Dancing), Landscape Arch, which was huge and looked like a frame to a landscape painting, Black Arch, and several unnamed arches.
Most people only go to Landscape Arch, as the trail then becomes more challenging to reach Double O, other arches, and Dark Angel.
You can either do the primitive trail to get there, which is unmarked and longer, or climb over sandstone slabs and fins with narrow ledges and exposure to heights on another trail – a bit scary for those with fear of heights.
I, once again, got to face that one head on and did.
I thought about the symbolism of this challenging trail to Double O and Dark Angel and how only those ready and/or willing to journey into these energies and reflections, would pass through to receive the messages awaiting them there.
But it wasn’t until I return back, as mentioned earlier, that things really sunk in as to the energy I was integrating myself, as well as holding in mirror for others. I believe my time sitting in the portal of Double O revealed this to me.
And on our return, I had this thought go through me about the connection of Devils Garden and my serpent tattoo, thinking on the irony of this and all the misconceptions around it.
I kid you not, the second after I said this to myself and integrated the depth of meaning, both Dave and I heard a loud, long hiss come from the bushes we had just passed.
He stopped in his tracks and we both looked at each other and said, “what was that?”
We both agreed it sounded like a large snake, like a rattlesnake before they are about to strike.
Dave decided to explore the whole area, but found nothing.
There was no snake in the flesh.
But it was unmistakably a snake.
I said, it was the cosmic serpent and shared with Dave what I had just been processing and receiving right before the hiss.
Talk about powerful messages.
I continued to further deepen into the energy here for me to process and embody more fully.
And found myself in deep dreams last night wandering through rock garden portals.
I’m feeling much more balanced again today, but still recharging from all that I was mirroring, integrating, and holding.
It made me go quiet and perhaps might lead to taking a mini break while things continue to integrate and renew.
So, just in case you don’t hear a share from me for a day or two, you’ll know why.
We embody both the light and the dark, but it is not seen in these limiting terms that words define and judge them by.
It is a melding reflection of both and beyond, where the creative impetus of Cosmic alchemy can be harnessed by turning everything inside out within the vortex of you.

Deepening Into Passionate Embodiment

I’ve chosen a colorful and boldly lived life that I experience with both soft footsteps upon the Earth and loud expressions of individuality and purposefulness.
And while I’ve made choices not everyone would, or that others might judge, they all have meaning I’ve both grown from and reflected truth mirrors for others to choose from.

This journey we are on right now exploring in our Magick Bus RV is most reflective of the Cosmic pilgrim that I am and provides me the most resonant experiences that supports my path currently – one that both simultaneously is individual and collective, despite what it may seem.
All paths in life that we choose can only fully be understood by the one taking that journey, as no one can walk in your shoes, nor do they come from the same perspectives of life to concur with how you believe and know it to be.
There is nothing to prove, nothing to defend, and nothing you need to feel guilty about.
To live boldy with passion is your soul’s whispering request, as it is why Spirit has so boldly manifested in a form that can sensually express and experience it as so.
Sometimes that boldness is soft wafting trails that leave behind the aroma of your soul for others to catch wind of.
Sometimes that boldness is dramatic cliff leaping that inspires others to jump onto their own magick carpets awaiting them on the other side.
Either way, and likely both ways, life will be enriched and enriching when lived from passion.
Whether that reflects as one particular passion that moves you, several, or simply all of life intended to be experienced as a flower’s desire to reach for and open to the warmth and glory of the Sun, doesn’t matter.
Life lived with soul passion to express your individual tendril of the Cosmic Tree of Life will lead you through portals of experience like no other.
When you seethe with passion, even just being will have a profound effect on everything around you.
The act of deepening into Being IS passionate embodiment.
And when one is passionately embodied, all things are possible, all doors open, and so much passion reveals itself in the life reality all around you that you’re creating.
The images shared throughout this post are from yesterday’s exploration along the trail to Delicate Arch – the best known arch in the world.
This rugged and steep trail starts at Wolfe Ranch, takes you past the old, pioneer Wolfe homestead, Ute Indian petroglyphs, an overgrown streambed, throngs of juniper, a smaller arch, and slopes around the side of a sandstone fin to come to the dramatic vista of Delicate Arch.
Along the way lizard, raven, desert blossoms, and an amazing garden of colored, crystallized rocks greeted us.
My favorite spot was the small window arch that people passed by on the way to Delicate Arch.
While everyone hung out there, I told Dave, “let’s go climb up and sit in the window…I have a feeling there’s a view from there and we’ll be alone.”
And so it was.
I loved this spot….can you tell?
Deepening into passionate embodiment and Being, as I laid in the window arch overlooking Delicate Arch vista.
Dreaming a new reality into creation.
Windows, Arches & Balancing Rocks ~ Portals Into Humbling New Realms
Our six week journey through Utah has taken us to some amazing National Parks where the experiences have been profoundly shifting and perfectly sequenced in a process of deep unfolding.
Yesterday, we arrived at the last of six parks – Arches – and immediately I knew it was my favorite. Not that each hasn’t been spectacular and connective for me, as they have big time! But the energy at Arches and the portals and rock formation spirits just spoke to a certain part of me that I can’t explain.
Perhaps it is because this concluded a journey here in Utah that has been opening, then extremely deepening and at times dark in those wombs and ancient energies, helping me to retrieve, integrate, and move through personal and collective stuff, then arriving at this land of magick portals and gateways to the otherworlds that brought out a sense of movement, flow, and cosmic journeying to the next phase along the path – actually walking through the doorways of newness becoming.
Even the entrance into the park just had me excited, as you come off of the highway and go through a much more official looking entrance with high gate entries and then ascend, zig-zagging up the walls of the cliffs to the plateau that Arches sits atop.
You then enter land of many other worlds, where beings, guardians, sentinels, time travelers, record and gate keepers await you.
There are many lands here to visit, many doorways to walk through, and many portals to what ever reality you want to create.
All to be met with a pure heart, which will be the key to unlock doors.
It seems no coincidence we also are staying at Archview RV park and look out on Arches from our home.
Everyday taking in the sunrises rich with promise and looking into the portals I can see ahead in the rocks, reflecting the constant forward movement I am committed to without complacency and with so much belief.
One of my most powerful spirit guides was with me yesterday, from start to end, as in the morning just as the sun was about to peak above the horizon I saw a Desert Cottontail appear out front and run into the bushes.
And then in the late afternoon when we arrived at the first portal – the North Window – and I’d climbed over the threshold to the other side, sinking into the rocks so that I was out of view from anyone on the other side, a Black-Tailed Jack Rabbit appeared below just as I looked down…disappearing into the bushes again.
Since the one in the morning was on one side of the arches and Arches National Park, and the next was after I walked through the first Window, I feel they are guiding me through to the next reality of life I am creating.
It is a journey of courageous embrace and the willingness to put it all out there for myself or anyone else to see.
I once was afraid, repressed, hidden, discouraged, and tormented…but now I dance with these energies and work their alchemy, just as Rabbit teaches us to harness our fragility and fears into agility, cleverness, spontaneous decisive movement led by intuition, and guides us into the shadow world to face our fears with vulnerable, wise embrace and humility.
They are highly sensitive and teach us to lead by our own wits, live in balance, and to receive, strengthen, and understand the hidden teachings and intuitive messages around us.
There is strength in the quiet softness of even the most sensitive and fragile beings and like Rabbit we can leap and bound through portals of growth when we own that strength.
So I continue to follow the Rabbit within me, the Sacred Embodiment of Universal Creative Powers, to guide me on, to birth the Cosmic Egg of boundless potential.
And yesterday I felt the joy of moving as the Rabbit through these portals of growth and journeys through Great Mystery, as we explored the North and South Windows, Turret Arch, Double Arch, and Balanced Rock trails.
I felt like the Windows were not only doorways, but places to see our reflection, like mirrors, or like the reflective gateway in the Neverending Story one must face to pass through, which shows Atreyu what he truly is inside.
Turret Arch was an ancient gateway that led to points on your soul journey to retrieve.
Double Arch was a double portal where one could soar if they could walk the Earth and Cosmic path as one.
This is where we spent the most time and I sat under the arches to receive.
It is there that I saw what appeared to be a Unicorn – Master of the Light – then felt and saw very tall, soaring light beings all around and inside the Arch.
The light was shining through and upon me, and I then laid back to look through both arches at once, centered at middle, looking into the light of both realms.
We then concluded at Balanced Rock where we integrated further and rooted that energy with strength.
It was an amazing rock demonstrating our ability to hold energy in a way that seems to defy dynamics as you know them.
I sat here under Balanced Rock and embraced the wisdom of these giants and boundless energies around me that both diminished me in size relative to theirs, but expanded my boundaries and melded me into that eternal vastness.

The energy was playful, uplifting, inspiring, and yet very grounded.
This was not airy Faery energy, although I did feel light, but instead were the foundations of Earth-based freedom available to us as the Cosmic beings that we are.
These Faeries were in tall, “angelic” or “cosmic” form appearing as light beings, alongside a council of Cosmic Ancients.
They are the ones I saw all around in a sacred circle at the Double Arch.
And as I felt to pull a card from my Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle deck, you won’t believe that it was the very same one that Laura posted about in her blog this morning, so similar to mine today titled Sync Winks and Faery Portals.
You can see that card at her link and some of its meaning, including:
“Being able to see change ahead, but not knowing how to deal with it. Understanding that in order to learn something new, one must forget what one thinks one knows. Getting ‘down’ to the level of others who you do not know. Receiving messages from nature. Understanding that wonderment is the natural process of change.”
Indeed I have been unlearning everything and rewriting it all by my heart and the guidance received through it, one step, sometimes leaps, at a time.
The card also shares:
“Truly in order to reach the wonderment of Faery, you must become “smaller”. But that does not mean to become a reduced version of yourself. Rather, it means to approach them, or whatever situation is currently at and, as a beginner, a walker in a new land, and to be humble and willing to learn. This threshold will see her walk into another land, but she will still be able to walk in her own. See the light pouring through – through this humble doorway is en-LIGHT-enment. Meaning more knowledge, understanding and the ability to communicate. She is peering through this doorway, through which light can shine into the darkening world of humans. A world that is only darkened by the thought forms that provide a kind of emotional pollution in our world. She is ready to step through, to allow her imagination’s wisdom to lead her into new realms, and to accept the mystery of Faery communication….
As a result, her life’s work will start now, and she will find herself in the right place at the right time. As long as her relationship with nature remains pure and strong, so too will her relationship with the natural world…”
Wow, this is exactly what I felt at Double Arch in the vision of the Light Beings around me, humbled and ready to receive their wisdom, as the awakening flow of life force within my veins and DNA that stands in their reflection.
I have felt the dichotomy of becoming smaller, while simultaneously expanding.
And as always I turn to you, since we are collectively connected and ask, where do YOU feel within yourself the opportunities to walk into new realms with fresh wonderment and humble willingness to relearn all you thought you knew?
Are you willing to let it all go and allow the deep, ancient, cosmic wisdom take you by the hand into the Great Mystery?

Magick Stones ~ Your Own Personal Nature Portals
While we’ve been on our grand adventure journeying around in the Magick Bus to where we feel called to integrate, retrieve, move, and heal energy from the places we land, I’ve been surrendering myself to how this energy wants to move through me.
Sometimes that may not look like much, as the process is internal, but when the energy moves through me into a form that needs to be channeled that can look something like sound healing, inspired messages and ideas, support for my writing and creative projects, and even “Magick Stones”.
In general, the energy guides me and I listen.
And one thing that channeled through me was the message that I was to create some special Nature Portals from the magickal areas we have been visiting that would help one walk through the energies on their own sacred journey or vision quest.
Particular stones would speak to me that were meant for this project and these were turned into the creations you see here – Magick Stones.
Each Magick Stone embodies its own sacred energies and combined with the visions that channeled through for each, they also carry an individual medicine and speak their messages to us via Animal, Plant, and Magickal Being Spirit Guides.
I didn’t know why I was to create these – only that I needed to. And so I did.
I didn’t know that they would be revealed publicly, nor that they would be offerings for the collective when I first received the message.
But as I completed one after another, it became clear that these were in fact not for me, although the process of channeling and creating them was clearly something for me to do.
It has been a joyful experience and a wonderful side project that has been a way to move energy through and again embrace however that is meant to look.
I had already worked with the energies myself so I realized that these would be another way for others/the collective to work with the sacred energies of Mother Earth beyond simply reading about the areas and energies I share in my blog, or seeing photos that I post.
These are tangible, live energies that will call to whom they are meant to be and work with.
Each has a power and you’ll know which it is that can assist you when you gaze upon them and allow them to speak to your heart.
The ten Magick Stones you see here have all been hand painted by myself with acrylic paints and sealed with a protective, durable, glossy enamel.
They each embody a Chakra energy and color and then one is White and two others are Black. You will be able to sense what energies they all carry, by their Spirit Guides and the colors that channeled through.
They make great meditation stones, intention stones, companions at your work space, by your bedside or for dream time work under your pillow. They can also be placed in your garden, in plant pots, or in any sacred space, healing room, or altar.

Portal to the Creative Power and Love of the Nature Within You
I decided to share some of these very special photos today on 8-8-8, as they to me symbolize what journeying through this portal embodies.
I had them taken a few weeks ago by the amazing Pedro Gutierrez who is a very dear friend that married my very dear friend last Sunday on August 1st – Lammas, but who is also an incredible photographer at Gamma Photography Studio.
As shared in Messages About The 8-8-8 Lion’s Gateway Portal, this is an opportunity for a new and profound inner foundation of love that deepens and unites both your heart and mind.
This connects you more to your Essence and Consciousness, which will be the guiding forces and inspiration of your life.
It is an opportunity to really embrace the conscious, compassionate responsibility of true stewardship that has reverence for All of Life in an expanded connection with Mother Earth, which cultivates an abundant fertility of creative spark and truth that is heart-centered and focused on co-creating a new world lived in grace.
Through this expansion you come into who you really are and engage in a new relationship to your divine path, which unites and dances with Nature in a way that supports your fully blossoming into YOU.
It is by knowing Nature more intimately and with deep honor that you come to knowing the Nature within.

I felt a strong nudge to have these taken, as life is so fragile and there’s no guarantee how long I will have with these sacred embodiments of the actual, Universal Creative Powers and the Sacred Fire that both destroys and recreates the Heart of All Life.
The bond and unity we share between us is the fuel to my own inner fire for the new creative journey of ecstatic living ahead.
And out of that relationship dance will channel forth pure Essence.

Messages About The 8-8-8 Lion’s Gateway Portal
As we approach 8/8/8 – August (8 month) 8th, 2015 (2+0+1+5=8), we’re coming upon what is known as the 8-8-8 Lion’s Gateway Portal.
This portal happens each year, but it’s being amplified this year, as it isn’t just 8/8, but 8/8/8.
Personal discernment is always advised when reading channeled information, as it’s important to find YOUR truth in things.
I’m not a follower of channeled information, although I’ll be led to particular messages that have something for me to look at, whether that means a reflective resonance, or something that doesn’t resonate, so that I may explore the meaning of that for me to integrate or observe.
There are levels to be aware of when embracing channeled messages, or any message for that matter, but I do find things that resonate here and there, like with anything. And if they reflect my own inner guidance then I’ll listen – to the message – rather than following a particular person. But I take all things with a grain of salt and encourage everyone to recognize their own power to find the truth within.
Anyway, being that “Lion” energy and messages have been particularly on the collective’s radar of recent, and due to some synchronous messages that seem to mirror what’s going on for myself and many people that I know currently, I am sharing a couple of links you can explore about this upcoming Gateway that were shared with me.

To more intricate things, such as rearranging our thoughts, doing something we’ve always wanted to do but were stopping ourselves due to various programming ingrained in our psyche.
We are asked to finally come to the understanding that we are co creating our realities, we are asked to acknowledge that we are surrounded by energy of abundance. That there is no lack in the universe and all lack, boundaries or obstacles are perceived by the outdated programming that continues to operate on this plane of existence. We are asked to shed all of these believes and to use the energy of the NOW moment of time to our full potential, to go forth and co-create!
Once again creativity is what we are asked to allow to blossom into our lives. So please let your creative juices flow and take you to new heights. Utilize this energy to materialize that which you’ve wanted to, for so long, and remember to play with your newfound connectedness to the divine, allowing yourself to BE in this moment all the way knowing that this time whatever you truly want will come to pass!”

The Holiday ~ Two Faeries Reflect & Renew in Goshen, in a Faery Cottage, Activating a Faery Portal
It was a long time coming for Laura and I to reconnect in the Faery flesh – what seemed like nearly 6 years – but last week saw the end to that physical separation drought, as we came together in Goshen, IN.
We share that rare kind of friendship that has no “needyness” and yet we are also so close that we never feel the distance despite hardly ever having spent much in-person time together over the years.
We are in constant connection telepathically, via text and email, and the very very random phone time, however, our connection just increases. For us both, we cherish the kind of friendships that honor our independent natures and yet support the unique oddities we each have and desire from our relationships.
That said, it was so, so nice to be in the flesh together again – the longest we’ve spent actually in person ever. Not to mention, it was definitely potent, tons of giggly fun, refreshingly healing, and deeply activating.
Originally, I had intended to share a very full account of our time together, which would have included quite the photo journal. However, Divine flow had something else in store for embrace, which to me mirrors much of the themes we reflected upon, as well as spoke to keeping some of that magick and our special times close to heart and within our own experience.
Both Laura and I are quite open with our lives in the public, and yet we both commented on how amazingly nourishing it was to be with each other solely and completely cut off from the outside world and work, to create “us” time for once, without any agenda whatsoever.
We both honor and respect one another, understanding the flow of giving and receiving and never put each other to work or take unconscious or conscious advantage of one another’s gifts. So we are actually able to have true fun and play time together, and be mutually supportive without ever feeling drained – only recharged and renewed.
And that’s a rare thing to experience for us!
Although we are pretty public with a lot of things, we do in fact keep portions of our lives sacredly personal, and so when more than half of my photos mysteriously disappeared, I felt it was a message to keep that sacredness in tact and to be able to have some small portion of our lives kept just to us.
This also mirrors what is individually happening in my own life, but I will save that for a soon-to-come, separate post, as I’d like to dedicate this one to the cherished soulship Laura and I share, and to her Birthday energy we were celebrating alongside our Faery reunion.
That said, I will share some of the highlights and a general overview, as we are both always aware of how our individual experiences are collectively connected and know that there are things that are actually supportive in a service way to share, while the rest is energetically shared, despite not literally talking about it.
So here is a glimpse into our special Faery holiday reunion together. Perhaps the photos that did decide to stick around, will provide an energetic looking glass into what was experienced.
My journey to Laura began in flawless and synchronous flow, without any retrograde fun trying to create mischief. We’ve both learned to embrace and flow with the energies so we are relatively unaffected by them, or easily shift to match them so that challenges become more like launching boards to kick major, life-affirming shifts into play.
Perhaps the magickal flow was aided by a little bit of pixie dust sparkle, raw triple quartz and moss ring, life-enhancing spells, sacred tattoos, and a lot of peace, as I just so also happened to be wearing a butterfly peace shirt that says “love this life” on the front with a long beautiful expression of what that means on the back, a crowned rabbit and runes necklaces, a “peace starts with hoodie”, and sparkle shoes. I’m all about creating your own magick!
So my travels were smooth with driver arriving early to get me to the airport, arriving to Los Angeles (LAX) airport in 30 minutes (usually takes 45 without traffic and who knows how many hours with traffic), my plane arriving 20 minutes early to my destination of Chicago, immediately finding my bus stop with ease, being asked if I was a student at Notre Dame (nice little compliment for a 42 year-old), and Laura’s partner, David, surprisingly getting off work early so that with a small delay on the freeway with traffic, our timing aligned perfectly when I arrived at my stop for them to pick me up with only 5 minutes of wait time that I used to make a phone call to my mom and dad to say I arrived safely. 🙂
Indeed this set the tone of synchronous alignment and flow for the week.
I did at first feel like Dorothy in Kansas, although I was Tania in Indiana…it felt surreal. I couldn’t quite place where I was energetically, and the odd silence without anyone at the terminal of the airport I was dropped off at, nor around outside, had me feeling like I’d stepped into Stephen King’s “The Tommyknockers” for a moment, feeling like I was in another dimension about to be gobbled up, where time was suspended and/or fleeting.
For a moment on the bus I had also felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, as I’d dozed off for a second, which felt like forever with my getting up at 3 am that morning, waking to looking behind me and not seeing anyone on the bus after we kept spiraling around these connecting ramps to other highways, one after another. Apparently everyone had sunken into their seats asleep, but it sure did give me a quick jolt into another reality for a second.
And another reality was exactly what we created together last week, as we spent most of our time at the Faery Cottage Laura and David live in, chatting away like Faeries on a flower-high.
I was so delighted to find the tapestry spread I had gifted Laura years back, covering the bed I’d be Faery dreaming away in for the week. This tapestry is very special to us, as it embodies the two of us so perfectly, entwined in winged magick. The left Faery is black-haired and tattooed, while the right Faery is red-haired and tattoo-free. Seem like anyone you might know?
It was so much fun to be able to catch up, share, giggle, joke, talk about some of our favorite things like food, gardens, rabbits, and magick, chuckle at the overlapping synchronicities in our lives that are more than uncanny, and adventure into the new together, which all created a potent, percolating energy that naturally was processing and activating simply by our engaging our energies together.
It’s like alchemy when certain souls unite at specific times and in specific ways, with intentful power behind each word, and even behind each giggle. 😉
We got to share the rare time of late mornings and even afternoons in our jammies, late nights up talking away, tons of super yummy and nourishing raw vegan and vegan food daily (I was so spoiled by both Laura and David preparing everything and by the garden fresh additions to each meal and smoothie just newly harvested by Laura each day), and Faery tea time with delish Reishi tea.
I also got to meet Laura’s David (we both have David/Dave partners in our lives who each incidentally used to go by the other’s version of their name) for the first time, which was so lovely. We just picked up as if we’d known each other for years (which in fact we do 😉 ) and we were all giddy to learn just how much overlap of shared, synchronous things we all four have. I was especially grateful and happy that I now have a brother whom I love dearly!
I was also lucky enough to receive a tour of Goshen highlights from their friend Jerry who had access to show Laura and I all of the cool new artsy things going on in town including an amazing old theater renovation, a live music venue and old vinyl store, Goshen Art House, a new Brewery (not that I drink, but one of the ways Goshen is cultivating into more of a destination spot that already is considered one of the top 10 places for music bands loving to perform at), and all the cutting-edge things being created to draw in the artsy and eclectic crowds.
I also got to visit the indoor Farmer’s Market where we picked up a few things including some gifts for me to bring back to Dave – Indiana Maple syrup (courtesy of Laura for Dave) and a very interesting Espresso Pumpkin Ketchup I got him. There’s a funny story behind that one, but needless to say I took a chance at getting it and I have to say, he WAS right. It is actually really good!
There was a couple of visits to the local Co-Op – Maple City Market – which has a ton of great stuff. I was pleasantly surprised at the array of vegan items, which of course we enjoyed several of.
More than once we shared some Hail Merry Miracle Tarts, which are these amazing raw vegan mini pies in an assortment of flavors. We have them here too, but I hadn’t tried all of them. However, between the ones we had while I visited, and the ones I bought when I got back home because I was still wanting to drag out our amazing time together with a little pie nostalgia, I have now tasted them all. LOL!!
I also got to experience Hemp Tofu for the first time, which is super yum! I love this because I’m allergic to soy, and I found the texture really “meaty”. I don’t know if I just hadn’t seen them at our market here, but of course you know when I was picking up Hail Merry’s I also got all three of the different flavored hemp tofu’s too when I got back! Hehe.
And, I suggested to try my favorite Mint Chip coconut vegan ice cream, which I’m happy to say was a hit for all of us. So much so we devoured two containers over the course of two different evenings, which was mmm mmm good.
Needless to say, I was well-fed and had a very happy tummy that didn’t shy at seconds of everything there was the opportunity to have seconds on. 🙂 I was on vacation afterall! And when you’re moving energy like Laura and I do, you don’t pack on anything. But that also happens when you’re eating healthy food and not fussing over worries like that. We both dropped some energetic weight despite all the goodness going in.
One thing about Faeries is that we LOVE good food! All of the times Laura and I have come together have always been both feasts for the bodies, as well as feasts for the heart and soul.
And that definitely continued as the theme throughout our week together, as we engaged in increasingly potent talks about everything under the sun from Elves to ET’s, that built up to doing extended 9-card Sacred Spiral Tarot readings for one another with a unique Sacred Body Wisdom deck, a two-round Reiki Healing Attunement session for the four of us (us and our guys), and ending with a wowzers, magickal ceremony complete with Faery altar activated with a potent crystal wand.
We knew we were moving the energy, not just because we felt it, but immediate things happened around us and with our loved ones, things manifested for each of us despite our disconnect from the outside world momentarily, magickal things appeared when we stepped outside, we had interesting dreams, and I even activated my kundalini energy in my tailbone (temporarily painful before freeing release), while we both got head/third eye aches.
All dissipating overnight and opening into a new lightness.
We even got a visit from a lovely friend of theirs and her newborn, which was truly a delight. We both felt like the two Faery Godmothers of the Faery Cottage sitting side by side on the couch, as we energetically supported this lovely new Faery into the world and her very sweet mother.
And I DID get a little Gardening 101 from Laura! Yay!
We spent one afternoon planting new goodies, overseen by a Robin, black Squirrel, giant Bumble Bee, and a tiny baby Bunny.
I did the watering (being a water Faery), while Laura did the planting (being a triple Earth Faery), while we talked and giggled in between Laura’s master-minding the garden plan all in that fantastic brain of hers that envisions realities yet seen, but that ARE. 😉
We were both decked out in gardening grubs. I was looking quite tomfaeryish I think.
And speaking of bunnies, I had so hoped to see a bunny in the garden while visiting Laura, as she had mentioned them before. Not only was I gifted the little one on our gardening day, but later in the week we drove up to find a momma rabbit nursing her 8 – 9 little babies!
THAT was incredibly potent in symbolism and quite the magickal gift. I had never seen a mother rabbit and her babies in the wild, let alone nursing them! I had had such a sweet connection talking with the baby bunny the other day and now this just topped it off.
After the mother and some of the babies dispersed, one of the babies ran toward us, rather than away, and Laura mentioned it must remember me and my voice and knew not to be afraid.
Later Laura went back outside to gather some fresh greens for our meal and to water and she said the little one came running to her again, but then ran off, she said, when it realized she wasn’t me. LOL!
Yes, people do mix up our energies indeed. When we’re together people comment on our being sisters, which did happen at the Farmer’s Market by one of the vendors Laura knew. It’s always uncanny how we show up out of our rooms wearing the same colors or nearly the same kind of things without telling one another.
Another thing we share is our love for Nature and our need to be out immersed with her energy, as we both know how recharging it is for us.
So we did get some good little Nature hikes in on two of the days.
One at a lovely park locally in Goshen, and then at the amazing Fernwood Botanical Gardens in Michigan on Laura’s birthday.
It was a spectacular birthday celebration indeed that got kicked off in bindi-style, as I always bring some fun bindis for us to wear, and included a picnic lunch made in Laura’s Sun and 
Wonder Ovens (both of which I also got the 101 on and am now ordering my Sun Oven to add to the Wonder Oven Laura sent me as a gift), tons of amazing gardens fit for a Faery indeed, a 
BEAUTIFUL flute birthday serenade by someone who just so happened to be playing by the water (I actually got it on audio/video that Divinely is 3:33 in length from the moment we got to him to when he stopped playing!), finds we gifted each other including some cherry artisan mustard I finally found to bring back to Dave too (as he loves his unique mustards), a walk on 
the beach at the Sand Dunes of Lake Michigan, a birthday Hail Merry threefold birthday pie 
assortment shared on the beach of Persian Lime, Chocolate Mint, and Chocolate Raw Almond Butter, and an amazingly yummy dinner at Sunny’s Korean Restaurant in Mishawaka – mmmmmm!
I intend to purchase her kimchee seasoning online (I actually got side-tracked looking them up to order while writing this) because it is delicious, healthy – (all-natural, no preservatives or MSG, vegan, gluten-free and made with love), and makes it “easy and simple for you to make fast, fresh, kimchee at home and add the flavor of kimchee to any of your favorite dishes!”
We were all so reinvigorated and full of gratitude for such an amazing day that brought our week of faery fun to perfect, climaxed closure most satisfyingly.
It was hard to part ways, and to be sure there were big hugs and love exchanges indeed.
While there is such a contrast of energies in little Goshen, it was the very thing that makes for irony, intrigue, and mischievous magick – the kind that creates mega ripple shifts and activates instantly potent action into manifestation.
Not to mention, just so might happen to activate a wee Faery Portal.
None of which we might have been up to together there. 😉
I loved our time together and I love how each time is so different that we share, reflecting the evolution of our journeys.
We know that we’ll be seeing each other again very soon, and there are some extremely interesting things awaiting us individually, and together, that are in the unfolding.
A big heartfelt thank you to my sister Laura and brother David for such a beautiful week. I can’t remember having so much fun, goodness, and love poured over me with a Faery cherry on top!

A Magickal Day with Kate Magic
Yesterday I had the chance to reconnect with my dear friend, Kate Magic, whom you may remember was the Faery that joined me in Iceland for my birthday celebration. This also gave me a nice break in the middle of my week, and take a time out for me after completing a lot of things.
Kate is out here for two weeks visiting from England, as she loves to visit California once a year. Plus, this year she’s putting on a very special, private VIP dinner party next week I have the honor of joining. This will be a spectacular 5-course raw vegan gourmet extravaganza hosted by the amazing and infamous Chef Ito at the new downtown Los Angeles Au Lac restaurant.
I’m so looking forward to it, as that day may be a big celebratory day on a personal level (news upcoming), so the timing is auspicious to say the least. I’m excited to sample her fantastic creations, as Kate makes raw vegan food the way I like it….true Faery food – light and without nuts or garlic.
I’ve sampled some of her amazing chocolate and chocolate cakes, but looking forward to what yummy surprises she has in store and getting a chance to taste a variety of goodies.
If you’re not familiar with Kate, she has Europe’s premier raw food and super food online store and resource, not to mention teaches raw food courses and is one of the best raw food chefs and authors in the world. She also just happens to be a fellow tattoo aficionado, wearing her own amazing array of sacred and magickal body art.
I love promoting conscious visionaries and magickal creators who are bridging the love and birthing the new!
Thanks to my Faery sis, Laura Bruno, who introduced us, as it’s been a truly special connection over the last 5 years, since our first meeting in 2011. We usually see each other about once a year, but this year three times! Kate and I both remarked that it is an exceptional year, 2015…and it also happens to be the year I’ll be seeing Laura again in the flesh and for our longest time together, which is huge since we’ve not been in physical presence for like 6 years or something!
But yesterday was just one of those days that remind you that the new IS here already and that it’s there for those with eyes, ears, and hearts to see, feel, and create it. And when in harmony with each other and in natural harmony with Nature, there is much to experience, manifest, and enjoy!
I already live in my own little magickal bubble (so funny because Kate has a website called “Kate’s Magic Bubble“), so it’s fun when I connect with those that also live in their own too. Then it’s like that bubble expands and the magickal possibilities just expand along with it.
So my morning kicked off with a huge Raccoon sighting on the deck. SO, in fact we DO actually have both an Opossum AND Raccoon that regularly visit our backyard.
Raccoons have a lot of interesting symbolism including understanding and revealing the nature of masks we and/or others wear, disguise, dexterity, seeking guidance, curiosity without fear, shape shifting, secrecy, resourcefulness, stealth, ingenuity, cleverness, dexterity, socializing, courage, self defense when necessary, and support during transformations.
It’s like a whole woodland enchanted realm going on here in the middle of the neighborhood that’s not rural or anything. I guess all the Faery magick, plants, fruits, blossoms, and energy are drawing in the whole animal kingdom, as we have tons of Hummingbirds, Monarchs, Ravens, and a variety of small Birds, Geese that fly over honking as their path along their transiting journeys, as well as Lizards (one of which lived in our garage a while), neighborhood and ferrel cats that are constantly roaming through and resting in corners of the yard, a Bee colony that decided the inside of our chimney was home for their hive and came through the house…you name it!
Anyway, Raccoon kicked things off and then I was off!
From start to end our day was just beautifully inspiring, healing, and igniting…definite activations at hand. Things can happen instantly…and sometimes it’s simply trusting your guidance which aligns you in the right place at the right time, connecting with a particular soul vibration in person, holding a crystal, etc. If you’re ready, willing, and open…anything can happen.
So I drove out to L.A. to pick Kate up. The weather was an amazing 80’s kind of day. We both showed up in our own Faery attire – she in a colorful shorts jumper that matched her colorful tattoos with red velvet, golden starred flats and me in a more woodlands Faery attire in teal and brown from a true Elven company that creates specifically “Faery” clothing with smokey jelly shoes with sparkles! LOL!
We first set off for Life Food Organic for lunch. I’d always heard about it and wanted to try it, so it was a treat to do so. It’s in Hollywood so parking can be a bit crazy, but of course just as we pull up, someone is pulling out of their spot and so we get amazing, easy, and quick parking.
I had the Sea Wrap (getting my Pisces on) and a Wellness Elixir as well as a Tonic. It was all fantastic and energizing. While there, Annie, the owner of Life Food Organic came through so Kate was able to catch up with her since they’re good friends. In the meantime, I was sighted by a Facebook friend I’d never met in person who came over. Really sweet soul with amazing eyes who surprised me when he said, “Are you Tania?” I’m always a little wary about who’s calling me, as I do like to keep sort of a low profile/incognito essence when out, but I was delighted when he introduced himself and we chatted about sacred tattoo designs and the possibility of me helping him with one.
With tummies satisfied, we ventured on to the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple, which I suggested to her as something new for us to do together, if she hadn’t been there. She hadn’t, and so it was a treat for all since it had been a while since I had myself. This is an amazingly beautiful and serene sanctuary in the middle of the city and just a couple minutes from the ocean’s edge that was dedicated by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1950.
We first made way to the Temple, which was filled with powerful stillness and only 3 other visitors meditating there at the time. We sat upfront and did our own short personal meditations and then quietly left. Kate had a powerful healing as an extension of one that came earlier in the day for her as well and I received an image of a Dragon and Swan in mine….both really powerful symbols.
We then continued on to the garden walk around the perimeter of the lake, stopping at different points to take in the beauty of the amazing blossoms, lake, waterfall, and abundance of animals. There were a ton of aquatic Turtles floating, swimming, sunning, a Swan couple, Mallard Ducks and new little Ducklings, a variety of Birds and Fish including beautiful Koi, one Hummingbird that said hovered and said hello, Monarch Butterflies, and amazing red/orange and lilac Dragonflies.
Kate remarked that it was the most beautiful place she’d ever seen. We truly felt like two Faeries in the Garden of Eden and all of the animals were coming to greet us and talk to us, particularly this one family of Turtles that just kept hanging out below us and listening to us talk.
We giggled that the male was trying to court us and we were like two Juliets on the balcony/pier deck over the water and he was Romeo down below wooing us. 😉
While we walked around the lake we suddenly just felt guided to sit on one of the benches. It so happened to have a beautiful mosaic of two Swans on it so we each sat on one of them. And no more than thirty seconds later we notice straight ahead in the sky there was a rainbow portal that appeared.
None of the other few people around seemed to take note…we wouldn’t have seen it if we didn’t sit there…and there was and hadn’t been any rain.
At first the clouds it was in were shaped like a heart and then turned into a cat’s face. Kate happens to have a soulmate cat that it reminded her of. We both got chills and felt like we were in another dimension/world. This was like a New Earth and Garden of Eden or Faery Realm. Kate was really blown over and kept remarking it was like this whole rush of something “else” had opened.
We finally ventured on as the rainbow diminished and spent a lot of time just hanging out by the water taking it all in and talking about different things.
I showed her my new tattoo and we discussed the significance of Cicadas and the Diamond essence, which are both a part of it. She was fascinated by the Cicada, which was a prelude to something you’ll see later, and their ability to wait up to 17 years to birth.
We also discussed, as we often do, the energies abound and collective themes coming up, as well as our personal processes and what we’ve learned. One such theme was that of it no longer being about “holding” space, but rather, it’s about “creating” space and that is done by us following our hearts and joys and courageously venturing forward into new realms, knowing that IS service. This trickles out collectively and it isn’t a focus of “how can I be of service?” but instead knowing being in your essence IS of service.
Turtles came up because there were so many there at the lake and she asked me about their symbolism and I shared how many ancient myths, such as those of the Indigenous North Americans, describe the world as resting on the turtle’s back – many still refer to North America as Turtle Island.
And she then connected that with our seeing so many turtles that it tied in with our no longer “holding” and “carrying” energy for everyone anymore…it not being about something so heavy and demanding.
And I saw how all the turtles we were seeing were all swimming and floating…these turtles were in bliss as they danced through the water. They were light, quick, free, and mutable. This spoke to the message and how our own “loads” have been lightened, if we embrace that truth. We can let go of and release the old and old ways, the baggage, the karma, the heaviness…and simply move into our grace of being.
This mirrors for me, as I shared I recently lost 9 physical pounds from my two sacred journeys. It hasn’t returned. And while that’s a lot for someone small, along with it not being really noticeable to anyone, it was the manifestation of this energetic release and message at a very core level that took place and solidifies my thought on this for myself, as I do feel lighter and freer and find myself in a place right now of choices and deciding where I want to go next without any thought of what I “need” to do, but what do I “want” to do – navigating the waters of life like our aquatic turtle friends.
So we hung out for a while with just “being” in this enchanted sanctuary realm – our personal magickal bubble for the day.
That’s when Hummingbird buzzed in front of us and hovered to say hello. Kate had never seen one in person, but we both wear one as tattoos on our skin.
We watched the family of Turtles – mother, baby, and father playing in the water, the Ducklings following mom over to one of the Swans that was napping on shore.
The male Mallards all gathering for some bonding time. Dragonflies racing back and forth in front of us and then the red/orange and lilac one dancing together. The moss covered waterfall flowing. And the sun glistening like Faery dust on the water.
This was Heaven on Earth.
We then decided to go to the beach to get our feet in the sand and water. So we made our way to the exit and explored the small museum connected to the shop on the way out. In the museum we got to experience Paramahansa Yogananda’s personal Crystal collection and wow was it fantastic! Special beings indeed.
My only sadness was that they were there behind a case, and although together with other Crystal friends, being honored and revered, as well as bringing in amazing energy to the Temple sanctuary, I wondered if there might be another way to have them be of service rather than off in a secluded little area of a tiny space.
Synchronously, the way to the beach was the same way I had to go to drop Kate back at her place, but it was also the way to another of her friends’ home in Santa Monica. She had originally talked to this friend about a potential meeting at 4pm that day because they are going to be filming a cooking episode together this weekend, but she wasn’t sure on our time together, so had said she couldn’t.
Well, after our magickal time on the beach, which I’ll share in a second, I said I could drop her there since it’s on the way as long as she can get back home. She messaged him and found out he was in fact there even though she’d said she couldn’t come, and our timing from when we ended up leaving the beach to getting her to his place was exactly 4pm, just as they originally discussed. Things just fell into place.
But back to the beach, as if things couldn’t continue more magickal…they did. We took our shoes off and left them in the car and made our way to the sand. We walked the length of the beach talking and feeling the refreshing water on our feet. As we walked we saw tons of very interesting jellyfish all along the shore that looked like little spider webbed disks…really amazing and symbolic. Then on our return walk something caught my eagle eye in the water, just after I had said to myself in my head “something magickal’s gotta happen here at the beach to end our day with.”
And there they were! A large pod of dolphins just ahead. Interestingly, Kate had asked me not too long before this if it was me she was with when she saw some dolphins on the beach and I’d said, “no.” But the dolphins said, “yes!” and created it then.
This was quite a big pod and they were not in transit, but likely were feeding on a school of fish. But they were like none I’d ever seen on the beaches here. Usually I see them just swimming up the shore, as they feed. So you get a glimpse of their dorsal fin and curved body each time they surface. But these dolphins were SO joyous and excited. I swear they were putting on a show for us and display of their happiness we were there.
We kept seeing them do little jumps and flips with full tail flutes up in the air.
We had fun watching them, as we got to the end of our walk and were now fully aligned with their location in the water.
Kate then said, “they’re going to put on one last send off for us in a big way… like fireworks and all!” We giggled, but in fact, no more than a few seconds after that, one dolphin shot straight up in the air and did a huge curved leap, splashing in the water…the biggest leap yet! And after that…everything died down and they were gone.
We smiled and said, it’s amazing the magick that is possible to create and when together with others who match that vibration of openness and pure intention, the possibilities are endless!
Back in the car we went, feeling full to the brim in enchantment, along the water and then pulled up at her friend’s place, which was just 12 minutes away – getting us there as the clock chimes in at 4pm like I mentioned. This also just so happens to be the time I had told her that I needed to head back home in order to make it by 6pm to feed the little ones. 😉
We never planned our timing and the only thing we knew we were going to do was go to Lake Shrine. The rest just unfolded, as we flowed with the natural rhythms of the day.
When we pull up to his place we giggle again, as the apartment building is decked out with lovely metal dolphins all over each of the balcony railings to the apartments. The only building like that.
We said our see-you-laters, as next week I’d get one more chance to see her before she heads back to England. And later that night, when I was home, she emails me to tell me that when she and her friend left to get her back home, guess what they see?!
A Cicada!
Full circle magick, especially since she’d been so fascinated by my sharing about them and wasn’t sure she’d seen one before.
And along with many other small things we kept seeing and had come up, it was again that reiteration of how we can create our own experience no matter what else is going on anywhere else. If we stay in the purity of our wondrous imaginations and the childlike wonder of our hearts, life dances with us.
That doesn’t mean you don’t ever have the dark times and you don’t explore the shadow…on the contrary, that’s very essential to HOW to be able to create magick…by knowing how to work the shadow and alchemical transmutation.
I can’t wait to experience my upcoming time with Laura and the magick that will take place! We’ve had some unbelievable adventures and I look forward to creating more!
How Has “Spiritual Skin” Touched Your Life? – Share a Review
I’m up to my Third Eye in sacred tattoo designs and loving it. 😉 I can see and feel how the energy is shifting so much and so rapidly with everyone, as these designs are amping up not only in symbolic depth, but more and more people are also feeling this vehicle of expression and portal-awakening to be one of their chosen tools of their journey.
One of the most beautiful and valuable things to me that has come from writing my book, “Spiritual Skin”, has been in hearing from others about how their beliefs, ideas, and lives have changed because of experiencing a perspective shift from reading it.
It’s touched me greatly to learn that some even experienced opening and depth to the way they connected with others who have tattoos that they never would have before, finding a new appreciation for each person’s choices.
In some cases I’ve heard about relationships mothers had with their children being enhanced with their new perceptions on tattoos.
My own mother and father had their own transformations so much so that my mom, who would never get a tattoo, said to me “After reading your book, it makes me feel like I would really want to get one too” and my dad has exhibited proud expressions when others stop me to say something nice about my tattoos while he is with me.
In another incidence there was a beautiful story that moved me about a woman who never would have previously stopped to talk to a homeless person, but found herself finding a way to engage meaningfully, after reading my book, and stopped to connect with a homeless man to ask him about his tattoos.
And a lovely, young woman who has courageously supported her family and herself in life shared, “I read your book and I have to say, I am not a reader, I buy a lot of books that I read half way and then give up. Your book is the only book that I have ever read every page of willingly…I have a Chakra book, a book on Egyptian yoga, I have audio books about the Law of Attraction, I have audio meditation guides that have been very helpful. I have books on angels (I love my angels), and I collect stones to try to meditate with them. I feel like I’m on the right path, but I’m just not getting something. Your book helped me understand a lot of what I have been reading about and listening to, more than everything I’ve been reading or listening to has.”
These kinds of things are priceless to me and are the reasons I do what I do.

An Inside Look At One Soul’s Sacred Tattoo Experience – Mari’s Journey with “Spiritual Skin”
So, you’ve heard a lot from me about my own tattoos and my insights on the sacred designs I am blessed to be able to partner in co-creating, but other than some of the testimonials you can find at my website, we have yet to hear a personal story shared from the other side of this collaborative process.
Today, will fill that missing link, as I bring to you one of my beautiful clients – turned dear friend – who truly embodies her own unique expression of sacred body art. I love that designing these sacred pieces brings me into collaboration with souls across the globe, from every walk of life and age, and allows me to be a vehicle of support, as I am humbled to work so intimately with each soul.
I have made many life-long friends and reconnected with soul family because of this work and I am grateful to witness the blossoming and shifts that each individual journeys, as they so graciously invite me to walk along with them for a brief, but powerful part of that path.
Today, I am excited and honored to share with you one of my dear clients and friends, Mari Braveheart-Dances. She and I, along with her gifted tattoo artist, Bethrah Szumski, have created already 4 sacred tattoo designs and are in process of 3 more. She is an incredibly courageous woman – just as her name reflects – who dances with symbolism and understands this process in reflective resonance to my own journey.
Mari’s experiences have created huge shifts in her life, that I’ve been grateful to be a part of, hear about, and witness. She has recently made a huge transition, during the time we have known each other, which has her courageously following her dream to empower and support herself. This has involved a physical move and soon to find her transitioning across the states to a special area in California so that she can pursue her intents and gifts. I’m so excited for her.

It’s definitely not the path for everyone, but for many it is one tool and way that we have chosen to embody our self-expression and create integrative healing portals via the vehicle of our bodies as artistic and cosmic temples. Some people may never be drawn to tattoos, some may wear one, and others may find that several speak their individual language wanting expression.
Then there are people who will be triggered by the sight of tattoos, which will bring up their own individual processes to explore (or not), as well as people who are daily experiencing their own shifts in judgments, perspectives, and ideas surrounding tattoos.

The most recent piece Mari and I worked together on was her Shaman’s Necklace, which was the first piece I had created as a neck and chest ornamentation. It was quite the undertaking on many levels, but I have to say, when I saw it completed, I was incredibly moved by the way it not only had come to life, but how Mari radiated in wearing this like the true Goddess that she is.
I’ve shared photos of Mari, her sacred tattoos, and the designs we have worked together on, throughout this article, to explore as you read her personal thoughts on the process we have embarked on. Mari’s Thoughts on sacred tattoo designs:
My Tattoos are my Intentions. They are my heart and my soul. You put an energy into your body, your mind, your being, your skin – and you are changed. But the change for a truly energetic/spiritual experience of course comes from within yourself first.
Putting permanent ink on your body is a huge decision. It is not simply ink on skin. As a creator, you have the creative license to adorn your naked body if you wish to. This is no cause for shame. This is something to be proud of. When you take it to the level of interconnecting your inner world and intentions or whatever way you view it, with the outer world: energetic as well as physical – you engage a level of existence for yourself that heretofore was unheard of.
Make no mistake about it. Inking oneself is huge. In a perfect world, it would not ever be taken lightly. It’s serious business, at least in my opinion. I care about body, and I care about my being myself. I love the absolute beauty and creative genius that goes into my Spiritual Skin! Why is it huge?
Because Spiritual Skin shifts things. Tania can explain all that, but I am simple about it. My world has shifted as if the tectonic plates had mis-aligned in the past some-odd years. My Spiritual Skin journey has been a part of my waking up from a bad dream, and coming closer and closer to the light I wanted in my life.
My Tattoos are Incredibly Beautiful. To see them is to know beauty and symmetry, true love, anam cara, transformation, warrior-ness, phoenix, Powerful Woman, Wolf, Raven, and The Sea, among others. All this is beautiful. It is a small part of me, Mari Braveheart-Dances. I am grateful to my co-creatrixes: Tania Marie who designed most of my tattoos through a beautiful process of weaving our energies back and forth in an infinity pattern of connection. She is not only an artist in the physical realm of being, but also and equally importantly in the spiritual/energetic realms — and Bethrah Szumski (Bethrah doesn’t have a tattoo website, as she no longer tattoos except for long-held clients) who as an artist transferred Tania’s designs onto my skin. With a true tattoo artist – one who inks you – I insist on them being both artist and tattoo artist. Bethrah is both. She made everything flourish together in one living, breathing, intentional work of art. Not only that, but Bethrah added the beauty and meaning that tied it all together. All three of us are certainly co-creatrixes of my beautiful Spiritual Skin!
Since Tattoos are much more than ink on skin, hence the experience “Spiritual or Sacred Skin,” you have to expect your life to change. If you do tattoos like I do them, as intentions, your life will change. You must trust the universe to bless you with the beauty of your intentions. Also understand that you will have to hold on to your seat, as it may be a bumpy ride in terms of adjustment. If your family is as conservative as mine, you may not fare so well. I would say to be aware, always, of energy from yourself and others. Tattoos call people’s energy. They call your energy. They are, in my opinion, a bid for power. I speak of Spiritual Skin.
It’s very important to believe in yourself, and to feel proud of your work. Tattoos are, to me, a work of art and art being life itself – equivalent to life. Tattoos = Art = Life!
And there you have it – a fragment of this wonderful and wondrous, and very beautiful – energetic and spiritual and physical journey of Spiritual Skin.

Mari’s personal process with the inking and her thoughts on how to approach and understand the unique journey that will be your own, relative to you and the energy you are integrating:
It was a shock to me to experience being tattooed for the first time. I was not prepared at all for the pain. But as I have had many tattooes, I’ve learned that my own state of mind is the most important factor in the experience. I think, too, that it is essential to have an excellent relationship with your tattoo artist as this encourages the healing process as well. It’s helpful to me, in fact essential, to focus on very deep breathing both before, and during the inking process. Also, I personally don’t schedule too much around a tattoo session, as I find that it takes away from the relaxation I need in the healing process.
I always go into a session with the knowing that I will heal perfectly, and I am vigilant about aftercare. My tattoo artist at first refused to do my hands, for various reasons – not the least of which is that hands are known to heal poorly. But I “knew” that this would not be the case for me. It was painful, of course, but not unbearable – it actually went incredibly well, and I have a pretty big tattoo on one hand. Healing was unbelievably perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever had such excellent healing as my hand tattoos!
For my large chest piece, which was done over about five or six sessions, I experienced the greatest learning curve being inked. The chest is a pretty difficult place to be tattooed, and on the third time I was the most peaceful I’ve ever been on a tattoo. It was the only time I experienced some ability to step outside the pain and find my way to experiencing it as less-pain, and I was able to continue longer than both my tattoo artist and I expected me to.
The last section of this chest piece, which is actually a sort of “necklace” that goes from one side of my neck, across my chest, and to the other side of my neck, was unexpectedly the most difficult tattoo experience I’ve ever had. I realized that it had much to do with the energetic intensity of this particular part of my tattoo – and for the first time I experienced severe bruising. I’d had the same sort of work done on the other side of my neck, and that was not the case there. In other words, often the experience of being tattooed is related to the type of animal or symbolic design that is being inked. As I looked in the mirror at my neck, I saw that Raven stood in the shadow of “the great bruise,” and I understood on an energetic and personal level why that had to be.
There is almost always some sort of “opening” into new experiences as I’m being inked, but I find that the main opening takes place over time, as I become more and more open to the shifting taking place within me, and in my life, as a result of living with my Spiritual Skin.
Mari on her experiences with me and what it has meant to her to work with the process of tattoos as “Spiritual Skin”:
To me, getting tattoos has always been about the spiritual meaning of them. I would get to a point in my life when I would want to have a design that would signify an important accomplishment or change in my life.
I have searched through many different means, ways to transform my life. I have never experienced anything as powerful and life-altering in a positive way as the experience of tattoos as Sacred and Spiritual.
I began to try to find out if anyone else had these same experiences, if anyone else cared about the Sacred and Spiritual Energetic shifts that can occur with Tattoos. In my searching, I found Tania Marie who wrote a beautiful book called Spiritual Skin – Sacred Tattoos More Than Skin Deep. I was drawn to her book by the title, and it enhanced my experience even more.
Eventually, I was compelled to email Tania and discuss the possibility of having her work with me to design some Sacred Tattoos for me.
It is almost impossible to put into words what this experience has meant and continues to mean to me in my personal life. The process of co-creating with Tania, Sacred Skin that is meaningful and life-changing, is so much more than just designing a beautiful tattoo. So much more than mere ink on skin. Any good artist can create a beautiful design. But I know of no one who does the kind of work that Tania does.
Working with Tania is like working with someone on a different plane – someone who takes what you say about who you are, and listens to the energy behind your words. Tania has the beautiful ability and gift of being able to read a client’s energy and also to read the energy that is coming through from the universe that is most needed for the journey of wholeness to be made complete in the sacred tattoo design.
My heart and soul trusts this woman with complete openness and faith in her incredible ability to truly listen. This is a rare, rare gift, and it shows in the designs she creates for me.
My life has changed, and continues to change, in miraculous ways due to the Spiritual Skin designed by Tania Marie especially for me. These Sacred Designs are so much more than beautiful ink on skin – they truly are portals to different depths of experience of the fullness and wholeness of life.
I am blessed and honored beyond measure to be a part of such a Sacred and Transformative Process – working with this beautiful human being to bring in the healing designs that are what I need at that time.
