Put One Foot In Front Of The Other ~ Changing the Reflection by Election!

It’s SO NOT Christmas and I SO DON’T care. I sing this song year round, along with many others from my favorite Christmas animations.

It actually has nothing to do with Christmas and isn’t a Christmas song…it just happens to come from a Christmas stop-motion animation where many classics come from that have stuck with me in my life.

I was singing another one yesterday too from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, just BECAUSE. I don’t dictate or filter what wants through….I just allow it.

As most people who really know me know, I always use simplistic examples and pull from childhood to demonstrate things, rather than being some big time intellectual.

I don’t try to be something I’m not and so I embrace my child-like heart, as that’s where home is for me.

This one hits home for me too and comes to us from the animated classic, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and is one I often sing a lot or use as example because well, it beautifully expresses how to embrace the changes we want to make and makes it fun and easy when you sing along!

I actually shared it with a very dear soul this morning to lighten things up for the journey he’s on.

It’s such a wonderful tune to remember and sing each time you feel stuck.

I’ve now been singing it all morning since sharing it with him, so I’m now sharing it with you!

Sing along with me if you know this one, and if you don’t…you’ll likely find it a catchy tune you’ll enjoy singing when needed.

Here are the lyrics to help out while you watch:

Winter: I really am a mean, and despicable creature at heart you know. It’s difficult to [sniff] really change.
Kris: Difficult? [chuckles] Why, why look here, changing from bad to good is as easy as taking your first step.

[Chorus]
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor.
You put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door.

You never will get where you’re going
If ya never get up on your feet.
Come on, there’s a good tail wind blowin’
A fast walking man is hard to beat.

[Chorus]

If you want to change your direction,
If your time of life is at hand,
Well, don’t be the rule, be the exception
A good way to start is to stand.

[Chorus]

Winter: If I want to change the reflection
I see in the mirror each morn…
Kris: Oh, you do.
Winter: You mean that it’s just my election?
Kris: Just that.
Winter: To vote for a chance to be reformed? Woo-hoo!

[Chorus 2x]

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor.
You put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door.

Much love, ease, and lightness as you take the steps to support your way out of inertia. šŸ˜‰

Lee Harris on Taking Your Power Back When Judgments Affect You

This is a quick how-to from Lee Harris that goes well withĀ themes I’ve been sharing about to help you be more empowered in your life.

This one specifically speaks to releasing the judgments of others so that you can take your power back…a pretty big one for a lot of people I’m guessing.

Asserting Yourself Equals Greater Balance, Well-Being, Health & Vibrancy

I was tuning in this morning to see what theme was important to support others with and again got that “being true to oneself”, “taking action on the feelings and intuitive guidance you have in support of that truth”, and “boundaries” were speaking out.

I also know that a lot of people have body image challenges and confusion around wellness “idealism” because of a lot of conditioned messages we’re bombarded by (more than you may even realize from all sources around you), which is why I reblogged and added to this older post of mine last week: True or False? I Am Perfect Just As I Am, which only but scratches the surface of some of these things.

(I went on this last weekend to having a really in-depth discussion about even more myths I started cracking that were so freeing when I brought them to light – you’d be surprised at even the seemingly “positive” conditioning that is controlling your life by some other people’s/person’s/collective idea of idealism)

Anyway, these themes allĀ go hand-in-hand and all of them have a common thread of consistent self-assertion being important.

I then decided to go open up a couple of books I have from Shakti Gawain and Louise L. Hay to see what they may want to share on the subject for everyone and what do you know?

They had a couple of things to say on the pages I opened to that went right along with this and that were in line with one another.

So here are just a few words from Shakti and Louise to help you to begin a new dialogue with yourself, open new perspectives, trigger a shift, and inspire you into living a more authentic, healthy, balanced, and empowered life.

From Shakti Gawain:

Assert Yourself Consistently

“The most important key to creating your perfect body is learning to assert yourself consistently in your life. For example, overweight people may have a pattern of doubting themselves, of being afraid to trust their feelings and act on them. We especially need to learn how to say no to others when we don’t want to do something. Overweight people often try to please and take care of others. When our first priority is to please and take care of others, we are denying who we really are and what we really feel. When we are afraid to be true to ourselves, our bodies will always serve us by reflecting those fears, so we can become conscious of them and heal them.”

Take Action

“The key to asserting yourself is to take action on your feeling and intuition. I have seen people begin to lose weight or become physically healthier simply by doing something they’ve been afraid to do, or by expressing some feeling they’ve suppressed. By becoming more assertive, underweight people become more willing to take up space in the world. By continuing to speak and act your truth, you will dissolve blocks and find your proper weight.”

Risk Asserting Yourself

“At first the prospect of asserting yourself moment to moment can be frightening. We are not used to stating what we need and taking the action necessary to give it to ourselves. It takes a conscious effort for us to tune in to how we feel and to risk doing it. But once you start, you’ll want to keep doing it. You will have more energy and look more radiant.”

Balancing weight easily and naturally

“Once overweight people learn true assertion, they are often able to lose weight easily and naturally, without any type of deprivation. The increased energy circulating in their bodies dissolves the blocked energy and the extra weight gradually melts away. They do not need it for strength or protection so they release it effortlessly. By the same process of assertion, underweight people release their fear and are able to take in more life and more nourishment. It becomes safe for them to take up more space. If any particular food plan is needed, they will be intuitively led to an appropriate nutritional consultant and diet.”

From Louise L. Hay:

“We need to do more than just treat the symptom. We need to eliminate the cause of the dis-ease. We need to go within ourselves where the process of illness began.

Listen to your body’s messages.

The body, like everything else in life, is a mirror of your inner thoughts and beliefs. Every cell responds to every single thought you think and every word you speak. (My personal note: And might I add, and EVERYTHING that you FEEL)

Good health is having no fatigue, having a good appetite, going to sleep and awakening easily, having a good memory, having good humor, having precision in thought and action, and being honest, humble, grateful and loving. How healthy are you?

Only accept what is best for you.

Some people don’t know how to say ‘no.’ The only way they know how to say ‘no,’ is to be ill.

If I threw a hot potato at you, what would you do with it? Would you catch it? Would you hold it while it was burning your hand? Why would you even catch it? Why don’t you just step out of the way? It is possible to refuse anything, even a gift. Are you aware of that?”

Don’t Try to Reason With Magick Or It Will Go Away

laura and tania (3)When magick finds you, embrace it and allow it to wash over you like a beautiful jasmine kissed breeze or a warm, rolling summer wave of Caribbean aqua silk ocean water.

Immerse yourself and just be with it.

When you find even just a little bit of magick in your life and you try to explain it, reason it out, and catch it, most often it will go away.

There are things in life meant to be experienced with a soft, brief yet soulful gaze, a gentle caress whose effects linger but the touch is but for a moment, or like a graceful butterfly that dances lightly around you just brushing your skin with whisper kisses, but never lingers long enough to settle.

After all, these things are fragile and not meant to be held, caged, or stopped to try to control them in any way, although they will create moments of time standing still and will take your breath away.

They are moments of magick.

Logic is a need to explain, prove, reason out, or have some control over something before you will believe it.

As humans, we tend to use logic solely or at least more than other things like intuition…and so we only learn a part of the truth.

While logic helps us to reason and decide if what we learn, hear, and see makes sense to us or not, and if we would like to choose that as our experience, it can also stop us from experiencing more.

Our senses shift when we come into a physical body and we tend to lose the ability to hear our spirits or to feel what authentically makes us whole. This happens because we begin to listen with other parts of us that feel more tangible…our ear and eyes alone do the listening and seeing and the unseen parts of us, well….go unseen and unheard.

The same holds true for our touch…only things we can tangibly feel with our physical senses and hold, make more sense to us, but the things felt only with the heart and soul we tend to disregard and won’t trust or believe in them to hold the same value, let alone let them guide our lives.

So despite having so many gifts naturally innate to who we are on a soul level, we begin to let others and other conditioning do all the thinking for us and make all of our choices for us too. To the point that we are no longer guiding the course of our own lives, but allowing others to tell us how to live.

Just because something can’t be explained or reasoned out, doesn’t mean it isn’t real or valuable.

There are many things that you can’t really fully explain – like love, imagination, faith, inspiration, how things like music happen, why artists, writers, and poets hear, feel, and see what others don’t, a mother’s bond with her child that transcends all, how twins are so in tune with each other even when separated, nature’s miracles, and even the miracle of you right here and now….

Aren’t the things you can’t explain just as, if not more so, important than the things you can?

Invite a little more magick into your life without a need for explanation and your natural gifts will begin to flourish, not to mention your life will feel more fulfilling and yes…become more magickal. šŸ˜‰

Celebrating the Old & the New as One ~ The Natural Cycle of Closure & New Beginnings

In yesterday’s last Reiki workshop I’ll be hosting from this lovely space I’ve called home now for nearly four years, the group of souls that joined and the energy we shared together really provided a beautiful, fun, invigorating, and perfect closure to all that has been cultivated, integrated, shared, received, and grown while living here.

It was definitely a bitter sweet day, which much of the rest of the next almost two months will be before heading out of here into a new adventure of RV living beginning October 15th.

This home has provided aĀ wonderful sanctuary space, which we’ve had privilege to call home.

And I’m happy to share, however, that the spirit of Reiki will live on in this amazing sanctuary home that has provided us peace and support for all the things in our lives we’ve been creating, as the wonderful family/friends renting from us are both trained Reiki Master Teachers that I’ve had honor to teach and will continue teaching from this space. Yay!

And not only that, but this lovely couple and their two sweet and tuned in children will continue with the care-taking of the garden, Garden Tower, and all of the lovely fruit trees, plants, and flowers we’ve nurtured here. Plus will add some more of their own. I hear a pomegranate tree is in the works. šŸ˜‰

This home has been the sacred container for so much in my life in terms of expansion, deepening, and opening to my most truest nature ever. I can only imagine what will evolve from the next mobile abode.

So while yesterday was a wonderful affirmation for the souls who all came and chose to say “yes”Ā to living a more gracious, magickal, and empowered life, it was also a blessed affirmation of the “yes” I’ve chosen to say to another experience of life on a whole new level myself.

After everyone left yesterday I took a refreshing shower to “cool off” from all the energy and spent the evening until dinner enjoying the backyard and garden.

back patioThat’s my favorite grounding and integrating spot after teaching high vibed classes.

Yesterday’s incredible group of people really activated a lot. Our internal furnaces were on fire and everyone left feeling so pumped up.

It’s all so exciting, wonderful, special, connective and yes…magickal to be a part of that journey with people and observe the life-enhancing transformations that take place. I love seeing people’s eyes light up and faces beaming from the light within.

How can you not fall in love with each soul and life itself when you get to see and experience that miracle?

Last evening and this morning I wandered the front and back yard to check on all the new growth taking place.

Alongside the amazing sunflowers out front that have blossomed, I have found so much more that is beginning to really take off, and in some cases also about ready to be enjoyed, including more lovely pickling cucumber blossoms.pickling cucumbers

It’s like all of the plants are seeing me off with a bang and not only are mirroring the big changes and new beginnings, but also that all things are possible with patient, loving care, nurturing, and unwavering belief.

My Garden Tower is looking amazing and will provide several harvests before I leave. The loquat and persimmon tree are abundant so I’ll see them get close to readiness. The plumeria are all flowering and all of the seeds I planted out front have grown into healthy little plants that will continue on. I just planted some more sunflower seeds to see if they sprout before heading out. (hehe that rhymes!) šŸ˜‰

applesThe apple tree is LOADED with fruit so much so that the limbs are bowing down to touch the Earth. So it definitely appears I’ll be getting a bunch of apples before moving out of the house.

And another mystery guest made an appearance.

tangerineWell hello surprise hidden tangerine #3! I discovered a third totally out-of-season tangerine on our tangerine tree that is also going to be ready to enjoy before moving out. They aren’t supposed to come until February, but like me they are going against the grain and proving anything is possible.

New beginnings are blossoming everywhere. I love seeing the fruits of my labor growing.

And so much is already in gear for when I return from my three month sabbatical, as December is already quite filled with a continuation of work, but also new focuses.

I’m preferring to stay focused on the now however, as things can and will constantly evolve if the flow is followed rather than trying to create against that, or try to jump ahead too fast.

So, one-by-one I’m focused right now on finalizing the rest of my work as I’ve done with my last workshops, finishing out with still a hand full of designs and last coaching sessions. And then focusing on the fun of cleaning out fully (I so love that part), selling and letting go of everything but the essentials, and handling all the details of the move.

Then it’s Tania time!!

I can’t wait to work on my own creative projects, especially my writing, as a story has been channeling through and sitting in my crown’s storage bank for when I can fully immerse in the realm I’ll need to go.

Having the uninterrupted, full focus will provide me the ability to create a lot and write the full book. I’m not sure how many other projects I’ll get through during my time “off” – which simply means not working for others, and only working for myself – as I have a lot of things knocking at my heart’s door. However, without anything else pulling at my energy, I can accomplish quite a bit.

But I have promised and assured myself that I’ll continue with their focus as long as needed. And I’m also being shown glimpses of where I’m to focus thereafter.

It’s been a little bit odd living in two realities at once…one that is ending and one that is beginning, but it’s also been exciting and helpful in fueling it all and finally has become more natural and easy than it was at first.

Peace with the old has fueled invigoration of the new and invigoration of the new has created peace with the old….simultaneously.

While the mind wants to rush through it all and speed up the process, which only creates frustration, it’s been more helpful to allow both realities their fullness as they are one and the same, connected, and necessary to the natural cycles.

Much like nature and the plants and animals innately know….it’s a continuous and fully connected experience that only takes place by journeying the full cycle with embrace and trust in the eternal fluidity of consciousness and new creative sparks of life that always are within every experience.

More Magickal Sacred Tattoo Designs

Nora Sacred Tattoo DesignAs I expressed in an earlier post, I will not be sharing any information about the recent sacred tattoo designs I’ve been working on over the last month or two because I haven’t the time to with everything going on and wanting to focus energy on the current pieces I AM working on.

Today, I’m sharing a couple more really magickal ones and as always, I hope you enjoy what ever they reflect for you, as while the designs are custom created to each individual’s soul, that always carries a beautiful collective energy that others connect with and are affected by through viewing them.

I’m continually amazed at what keeps channeling through and always so aligned with current collective energies abound, as I’m sure you can see in the designs.

The first so reflective of a New Earth energy we are integrating, activating, nurturing, and healing. The second of course really synchronous with Lion energy being so prevalent these days with the passing of Cecil, our entering the Lion’s Gateway on 8-8-8 and yesterday’s Leo New Moon.

So it’s pretty amazing that they are also reflective of the individuals they were created for. Dual-packed significance always!

Ana Sacred Tattoo DesignI will have one or two more shares by end of the month, as I complete the last designs I’m working on before heading off-grid beginning September 1st.

So grateful to be able to do this work with such amazing clients who honor the sacred process and have all been so wonderfully patient.

Remember that although I’m fully booked through August 31st for designs, you can book a design with me for when I return.

I have a waiting list already started for December – December is actually almost full – so if you’d like to co-create a design with me you can place your deposit and lock in the current rate at the link here:

Leo New Moon, Magick Pendulum & Magician ~ Shining Your Light & Harnessing Your Power

Today’s Leo New Moon is all about authentic self-expression, personally channeled creativity, dynamic individuality, heart-centered love, and vitality.

So today’s a good time, if you aren’t already, to see how you’re doing with shining from your heart and singing your song – then extending that out to every day of your life in consistent continuation.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, and both are connected with the heart. So the more you love yourself, share authentic love with others, and express love through all that you do and create, the more you embody the Sun.

Nokan Inti Kani – I AM THE SUN

I had a dream last night about a magick pendulum. It was an amazing pendulum that somehow I manifested and I was discovering all of its gifts it had for the first time.

As I held it from its chain it would start to spin on its own in any and every direction. It could be directed by my hands and thoughts as well and would morph into different shapes and objects. The more creative I was, the more it would do.

If it was spinning and I placed my hand or fingers near it with intention, it would stop in mid-air and do as my hand and thoughts guided. It also would do this simply as an extension of me without necessity to physically direct it with my hand, but I began to see that it was mirroring the myriad of endless creativity within me to constantly shift and create as much as I utilized my creative energy to keep channeling new possibilities.

I then asked it to show me things, which it did through morphing and changing its dance as messages to me. And then I asked it show me a symbol for my new direction in life now, given I am embarking on a whole new trajectory.

That’s when I was woken up by my bunny, Joy, making noise in my office across the hall and so the dream ended.

I took that as a message that it’s up to me to create whatever I want and from here on out, just as I had received as message before, nothing is solidified, contracted, or known. I have the joy of a whole new creative slate to start painting on anyway I want and to change it at any and every moment.

I realized that this magick pendulum was a reflection of me and demonstrated the innate power I had within to create anything I wanted, but that I also had many new and undiscovered gifts that were ready to emerge and simply needing me to engage them now for a new journey in life beginning.

And so do each of us.

The dream also reminded me of the Magician card in Tarot and how we can be masters of the elements, as well as both Universal energy and the physical to manifest and make use of all of our powers, as an extension of Source.

The Magician is about applyingĀ your creative forces with conscious awareness and intentional focus to claim your power.

It is number one in the Tarot deck, which is the number of new beginnings. He’s the bridge between the spirit and physical realm where you can channel Universal energy through you and direct it to physical plane for manifestation.

As the number one card he’s all about messaging you that you have the ability to access your creative power and energy to create a completely new cycle of life.

And so too, are New Moons about new beginnings.

Coupled with Leo’s dynamic, creative self-expression, you have supportive energy to assist you in becoming a Magician in your own life right now and create anew and create with authentic boldness.

So how are you shining your light through authentic and creative self-expression?

Every moment is opportunity to write a new story for yourself and access your own inner Magician.

Days like today’s New Moon, are merely reminders of what we always have available to us and assist you in understanding the cycles of energy you have to work with currently that you can harness in your life for greater vitality.

True or False? I Am Perfect Just As I Am

I was looking for this post this morning, as the theme and message has been so loud lately about self love and self worth being key.

These messages have always been there, but it seems there’s an increased focus here perhaps because people are really being challenged by the core of the matter – the self.

I’m constantly seeing and hearing people obsess over things like body image, going to extremes to prove something to themselves and others, trying to emulate others or some ideal of what they think they need to look or be like, trying to achieve approval or some contrived idea of strength and vitality, when again all of this stems from within.

We all have different paths and journeys to take, but if you do things to achieve an ideal and still find yourself not fulfilled in a way you can be with yourself alone without people feeding you praise or providing approval, then you likely are focusing a lot of time and effort in a diversion from the real thing – the core of you.

I’ll give you an example from my own life.

When I was in my early twenties I decided to hire a personal trainer. Now I was always thin and healthy, but like anyone else, was subject to body ideals that we’re bombarded by.

Long story short, I worked with my trainer for 9 months – 5 days a week, three hours a day – got on a very clean eating routine of 5 meals that cut out tons, but also had me eating a lot to fuel my work outs.

Being very good at self-discipline, this was easy for me, but it was also very strict.

I did in that time period manage to shift my small body of 110 lbs and 26% body fat, to 115 lbs of muscle and under 14% body fat – which is really low for a woman. And all of this very challenging to do for anyone, but especially when you’re already small, to shift the composition of your body.

And yes, I achieved this chiseled, strong, body of a fitness “model” type, but here’s what I discovered.

During and previous to this time period (beginning at 16, but increasing at 19 and on) I was on a spiritual growth path and doing a lot of personal work. But it was mostly at the mental level of reprogramming, affirmations, and only scratching the surface of the emotional level.

So, I was thinking in a new way, but still feeling in an old way. And I made the correlation after the 9 months with my trainer, and after many more months on my own maintaining the work I’d done with him, about what I was REALLY doing with this obsessed body work.

I had created this strong outer shell, but it still masked and hid my weaknesses inside and how I felt about me. I was doing the same thing that the books I read and the affirmations taught me…develop a new structure to my life.

But at the end of the day, even if I looked a certain way and received praise from others, I was still left with my “stuff” and that wasn’t going to change by morphing my body – the new structure would collapse on the old foundation.

What I learned was that I wanted to embody that inner strength and have it emanate, rather than my body and words merely emulating strength, while inside a mixed message was being sent out, as well as being experienced by me.

I created this hard, protective barrier also with these muscles, and actually was compounding the trapped emotions in my body by doing the kinds of exercises I was doing where I was compressing and tightening, rather than relaxing into myself.

I actually ended up having to undo this work later with Rolphing, which helped to release all of the build up in my muscles, tissues, and elongate my body while releasing the trapped emotions in the cells, rather than creating this stiff body that was holding in trapped emotions. (While you go through Rolphing they actually tell you to avoid weight training, as it will undo the work being done with it)

I realized that I was creating a protective barrier, as well as an “idea” of strength, rather than being able to embody strength and project that from within.

I saw how I’d also manipulated the divine feminine within me and rather than embrace the softer strength and beauty of my femininity and know that I am strong and fierce, beautiful, and capable in the form natural to me, I was trying to emulate some idea of what strong meant to society and making myself appear more masculine.

It was not long after this that I moved to Sedona and started doing the real deep work and I relaxed into my more natural self little by little and more and more, which has brought me to today.

I actually don’t work out at all anymore because I am deterred by any form of routine and regimented restrictions on myself, and because I’ve relaxed into who I am naturally and so my body reflects what that means for me.

The only exercise I do is in nature…hiking, biking, walking. Every day I’m doing things in the house and even when I draw and have painted, my arms build strength…when I lift my little ones or garden, I’m working my muscles. I’ve even stopped yoga since I broke my foot twice a couple of years ago, and I only very occasionally, when I feel the need to dance, jump around for fun on my rebounder. That’s it. All natural and free-flowing….much more reflective of me.

And my body and soul is healthy and strong. I eat a vegan diet of the food I love and I don’t obsess about things or do crazy cleanses anymore (I’ve done them all). My cleanses are of my emotions and daily mindful practices of living as consistently as possible to my beliefs and deepening my relationship with myself.

I’ve embraced a more feminine, softer, curvier body, to embrace that Earthy goodness. And yet, my muscle tone is still there, naturally. I still weigh about the same I’ve weighed always (with 3 or 4 pounds of variance because this is my body’s natural zone), but my body just is relaxed without tightness and without anything trapped…and definitely without me trying to emulate some ideal.

And yet people still ask me all the time what my exercise routine is and ask about how I maintain myself and have tone to my muscles.

They are surprised when I say it’s about relaxing into me that is key and doing natural forms of exercise enjoying nature. Nothing else.

So while I may not be a fitness model and I don’t have a chiseled body, I’m still strong and fit, but in the healthiest and most natural way possible.

I’m relaxed and flowing. And I follow the inner guidance of my feelings, not the contrived ideas in my mind.

The only ideal to me is to be me.

That was a long pre-post, but here’s the post I wrote over two years ago that will expound on this further.

I thought I’d share some of my own journey first, as I feel that personal experience can be far more powerful than merely sharing words.

Learn to love who you are naturally. You’ll find your life so much more fulfilling. <3
