In Loss There is Gain – Finding My Way After Losing My Twin Soul
Yesterday, at lunch with two of my dear friends, this story of both my greatest pain and expansive evolution came up. It’s been lingering with me through this morning and after hearing from a couple of other friends about transitions, pain, and grief, along with knowing it’s been an extremely potent time for major life shifting experiences where loss is being felt while the new emerges, I felt called to repost my personal story of the greatest pain in my life, the struggle with guilt I went through, and the experience that lives within me that creates a depth to my heart I wouldn’t change. This depth both envelopes the light and the dark…the alchemy of consciousness and life.
When I wrote this piece, it was 4 years after her passing, but it is now just over 7 years. Time moves swiftly and yet is non-existent, as I see and feel her as if it was yesterday.
Garden Tower Power! ~ An Explosion of Organic Goodness Begins
A quick little Garden Tower Project update:
It’s been fun to pick out what goodies I’d be planting this first go-around…and there will be a learning curve to experience along the way indeed, as I’m definitely no expert gardener. I simply plant by intuition and heart, sprinkle a little magick and water, and ask/hope for the Faeries’ assistance. 😉
But I WILL say it’s been a really playful and enjoyable journey so far, which I feel is the important part of anything we set out to do – make it fun and light!
I’ve been learning a few things along the way and Laura has given me a few helpful hints based on her own learning experience with her Garden Tower and gardening in general.
Plus, I’ve had the supportive energy of the little ones here, especially Cosmo whom I’ve had join me out on the deck during planting, nestled on a towel next to me to watch.
The bunnies are excited for what mom’s growing for them indeed. 🙂
Between the plants we already have here at the house and now the Garden Tower, we’ve got a lot of home-grown organic goodness to enjoy.
Alongside the already peach, persimmon, loquat, tangerine, apple, and lemon trees, blackberries, lavender, sage, lamb’s ears, and recently added peppermint, I now have planted these awesome organic/non-gmo delights in my Garden Tower:
Long Slim Cayenne, Cosmic Purple Carrot, Trailing Rosemary, Chives, Paris Market Carrot, Strawberry Alpine White Soul, White Wonder Heirloom Cucumber, Old German Heirloom Tomato, Loran Strawberry, Heirloom Anaheim Pepper, Basil, Heirloom Sun Gold Tomato, Heirloom Cherokee Purple Tomato, Mesculun Mix Lettuce, Petite Rouge Lettuce, Romaine, Burpless Garden Sweet Cucumber, Curly Parsley, Arcadia Broccoli, Diablo Brussels Sprouts, Pink Gerbera Daisy, Yellow Snapdragon, Yellow/Red/Orange Marigold, and Heirloom Mammoth Greystripe Snack Seed Sunflower.
I’m sure I may have already made some errors, but that’s part of the fun and growth!
Besides giving them all a lot of love, Reiki energy, and nurturing, I’ve added a raw Quartz we found on a trip, that sits at the top center, where the composting goes, to help infuse some energetic support to all the Plant Spirits, and as an offering for the Faeries to assist with their cultivation too.
I’ve been getting the compost going and added my red wiggler worms, which are the essential helpers to the whole Garden Tower system.
It was a lot of fun lovingly planting the over 60 goodies. My hands were deep in rich soil and my nails were filled with Earthy goodness. The fresh smell is invigorating and caring for my new babies is another commitment I’m devoted to.
Looking forward to seeing how things continue to progress and what I’ll learn and discover along the way, but just look at how everyone’s flourishing!
And I’m happy to report that after a big downpour of rain all last night and continuing this morning, my Garden Tower is still looking beautiful and the plants are holding strong! Yay! And thank you Crystal and Faery friends!
The Raw Magic Dinner Party
If you remember, last week I shared about the magickal day I spent with my friend Kate Magic and mentioned that while she was in Los Angeles she would be putting on a very special, private VIP dinner party. Well, that event was last night and it was definitely a feast for any Faery. 🙂
Along with about 20 other guests (which included many of the top raw vegan chefs like Ani Phyo, Annie Jubb, Matt Amsden, Julia Corbett, Jason Wrobel…) and joined by the amazing Chef Ito, we had the honor of experiencing Kate’s “Magic” as she prepared a wonderful 5-course raw vegan gourmet extravaganza at the new downtown Los Angeles Au Lac restaurant.
I was two-fisting Kombuchas, as we arrived early in under an hour on a work evening drive to LA from OC! How’s that for Faery magick?! So with a little over a half an hour to wait until the festivities commenced, I enjoyed the mixed fruit and ginger Kombucha on tap at Au Lac at the bar.
And I was, in fact, working the Faery magick dressed in my star-adorned flowing dress and equipped with magickal rabbit purse with pink sparkly sequins, shiny gold, and two comic love bunnies.
Kate was actually the one that is responsible for me having this purse, as she knows I love bunnies and sent me a link to one of her fav stores in the UK where she got the Unicorn-heeled shoes she was wearing for the party. 😉
Kate was in Faery style as well wearing a musical notes dress and “Love” apron with hearts – and indeed her food was infused with a lot of love and harmony.
Upon greetings for the party, we were handed an amazingly smooth Kombucha Cocktail that blended fantastically unusual ingredients and superfoods, just like the rest of the night’s creations. So I was floating on Kombuchas while we mingled before dinner and had a chance to meet some of the fun guests.
After being seated, we discovered amazing soap creation gifts by Erewhon that were equally fragrant as they were beautiful, and were then served our Starter, which was an incredible Sauerslaw that came shaped as a heart, with heart-cut carrot. I’d love to be able to share all of the ingredients in these creations, but I can only remember a little of what I heard floating around and don’t want to get it wrong.
However, we were given Kate’s easy and quick 10-minute recipe for this Sauerslaw so I do know the ingredients on it in case you’d like to make this healthy and yummy dish yourself.
They include 2 carrots, 1 beetroot, 1/2 red onion, 2 avocados, 1/2 lemon, 1 tsp cayenne, 2 tsp tamari, and 500g sauerkraut. Yum and healthy stuff!
Basically you grate the carrot, beetroot, and onion. Then stir them together with the sauerkraut. Blend the avocados, lemon juice, cayenne and tamari together until creamy. Then stir the cream into the vegetable mixture and store in fridge! Keeps for four days and serves four. 🙂 Thanks Kate!!
After this love creation, we were then served the Entree, which was Thai Yellow Curry & Cauliflower Rice. Mild and light, this was a lovely addition to the slaw. The Cauliflower Rice was truly amazing. I mixed mine together, after taking the photo, so it didn’t stay sitting pretty for long, and the blend of both was wonderful.
Then arrived Dessert, which was Kate’s famous Quantum Cake – truly Cosmic! It is an amazing all superfood raw vegan cake made without nuts, just like everything else she made for this evening. Mmmmm….mmmmm….delicious!
I got to chat with Kate, as she was cutting the cake and we got to giggling, which happens often with us. You can see here how much she enjoys what she does.
We then topped off the night with After Dinner Mints shaped like roses that had a minty freshness, along with a Macapuccino.
Everyone’s tummies were quite happy and Kate’s love was received by all. It’s wonderful to finish a meal feeling completely satisfied, but light as a feather!
Big love and thanks to Kate for a beautiful night of sharing her passion and compassion.
Thank you to Ani Phyo and Amber Zuckswert whom both assisted Kate with the evening’s preparations.
And thank you to Chef Ito and Au Lac for hosting this lovely event.
Thanks also goes out to The Raw Food World, Raw Living, epicself, Windy City Organics, and Erewhon for all that they donated to make this event happen.
Au Lac LA has only been open for just four months. It’s an incredible space and they have unique items on their menu that infuse some of the favorites from their OC menu, but with some great additions. I had the chance to try their food here about 3 weeks ago. Good stuff! I encourage you to visit there if you’re in the area to enjoy Ito’s food alchemy.
I don’t drink, but if you do, the LA location does serve alcohol (OC location does not), which are all organic, vegan, gluten free, and offered in infused mixtures with a lot of interesting blends. They also have Kombucha on tap.
They also have a gorgeous sound-proof event room with stage.
If you’re in the LA area, you may still catch a glimpse of the Faery, Kate Magic, as she’s still here through Sunday taking in the Cali Sun and fun. And we just may be lucky to see and experience a lot more of Kate, her raw vegan “Magic”, and much more, as her presence in LA is destined to be a more permanent fixture in the near future. 😉

She also teaches raw food courses and hosts raw retreats, including one in Costa Rica this August.
See you soon Kate!!
Sacred & Inspirational Birds to Light Up Your Life: Fine Art Giclees Now Available
Many of you shared your love for these two visionary paintings I created at the beginning of this year and I’m excited to share that they are now available as fine art giclees that you can purchase and bring their energy into your home.
They each hold their own sacred symbolism, carrying messages from Great Spirit, and as a pair they embody the Sacred Feminine and Masculine – Yin and Yang energy.
Song of Life ~ Mountain Bluebird
18″ x 24″ Acrylic on Canvas
Bluebird embodies the knowing that all things are birthed from within you and are to be shared with others. This includes fulfillment, joy, finding happiness in the little things as much as the large, creating time to enjoy life, movement to new levels of being, gentle grace, awakening of the inner child and the need for playfulness, confident contentment, innate beauty, and love found inside oneself for all things, others, and for oneself. And as a “blue song bird” they represent creative self expression and an empowered Throat Chakra.
Rainbow Journey ~ Rainbow Lorikeet
20″ x 24″ Acrylic on Canvas
Rainbow Lorikeet embodies the ability to seek out what nourishes and fulfills you, encouraging you to nurture the beautiful being that you are and to honor your inner beauty, respect your individuality, and embrace the things that fuel your essence along your journey. They represent balanced perspective to see and respect all viewpoints, a love for and joy to share in communication, expressing the colorful aspects of your soul to share with the world, the active ability to go after anything you want, individual vibrancy and playfulness that is to be honored and expressed, enjoying life but in balance and not in extreme intoxication, savoring life and pleasures, creative solutions to challenges and goals, the opportunity to always create radically new and exciting things, transformation, transcendence, crossing boundaries, venturing into the the unknown, recognition of a soul mate, and of course connection to the rainbow and all that it symbolizes. Rainbow Lorikeets bring the ability to live your life well.
They are both available in two size options (original size and half of the original size) and two choices – either on canvas and stretched on frame (just like original) or on canvas, but rolled and not stretched (easier for International shipping).
Fine Art Giclees are the highest quality and look just like the original.

Express Yourself ~ Sacred Tattoo Design
Small, but mighty! Yes, even a smaller and more seemingly simple tattoo can have layers of potent symbolism. It’s all in the intention when placing specific symbols and understanding how everything has meaning and can be woven into creative empowerment.
I was asked to create a sacred tattoo design to empower my client’s Throat Chakra energy and would be worn at the back of the neck. I had about a four square inch space to work with and while that can be limiting in some ways, it also then adds to the creative inspiration on how to get the energy needed packed into a powerful, yet smaller design.
I spent time tuning in and also did some research, as I wanted something very symbolic that wasn’t just a nice image, but would hold meaning on multi-layers.
She wanted the Throat Chakra symbol incorporated and we had discussed a blossoming effect that I felt would support her intents. So I saw flowers, but didn’t want the usual Lotus that is often incorporated with Chakras. I wanted something that would hold the meaning and purpose of what she desired, and also add its own unique qualities that spoke individually to what I felt from her and that would be supportive for her.
So what came to me were Daffodils and when I looked into their symbolism I found them to hold a really beautiful energy that I felt connected so well with the Throat Chakra energy and what my client shared wanting help with – struggles of personal expression and communication.
Here is their meaning: Daffodils symbolize clarity, vitality, memory, renewal, creativity, inspiration, awareness, forgiveness, and inner-reflection.
I felt each of those words truly spoke for my client on an energetic level and of course many of these meanings all support communication and connecting mind and heart.
I also love how Daffodils are so joyful and full of life, plus they have 6 petals. And the way these 6 petals sit, they remind me of the Hexagon and the Merkaba, but in Nature’s form! This is potent stuff.
First off 6 represents harmony, balance, sincerity, love, and truth, not to mention perfect union, equality, integration, AND communication!!
The hexagon is one of the world’s most ancient and magical symbols of sacred geometry found in everything from beehives to snowflakes, the scutes of a turtle’s carapace, the flower of life, in the tree of life, and of course in the Merkaba.
I integrated the Throat Chakra symbol at the center of the main Daffodil so that it also acts similar to the Chakra symbols you see with petaled flowers around, but also to empower the energy twofold that is coming forth from the mouth of the Daffodil and its fertile center, so that mirrors her own connection to the center of her creative self-expression. I love the Sun burst effect of the center of the Daffodil really emanating the energy out like a shining light from within.
I added a second Daffodil for abundant flourishing of this energy, but also because the number 2 symbolizes kindness, balance, tact, equalization, harmony, the quiet power of discernment, asks of us to make clarifying choices and to exert our natural flow of judgment to do what is best for our souls, unites us with like minds and like ideals, deals with exchanges with others, AND communication!!
And then I wanted to add balance, but also an artistic flair to flow a dance of energy in the design, so I added the softened kind of Mehndi look but creating some subtle spiral effects that are like the cycles of life symbolizing evolution and holistic growth, awareness of the whole and larger picture at work, connectivity and union, natural harmony with the rhythms of life, and letting go, releasing…surrendering.
I added a small simple Butterfly to provide a hint of their powerful energy of transformation, celebration, transition, lightness, soul, time, grace, elegance, freedom, joy and bliss, miracles, flexibility, cycles of life, creativity, gentleness, preciousness of life, as well as the ability and clarity of mind needed before self-transformation, AND communication!!
There are a lot of themes here and how it is all connected, which goes to show you that you can create a lot even in a small design. The power is not in the size, but in the chosen and potent intents.
It creates something very unique for her that expresses the creativity and beauty that she is at heart and that will also create a powerful space for her to empower all of her gifts in many ways, but especially in assisting with her intents of helping to express herself and to communicate with greater ease and joy….to reflect the sweet inner child that she is at heart.

Some people have preferred to read my book, Spiritual Skin ~ Sacred Tattoos: More than Skin Deep, especially if they are new to sacred tattoo designs, before embarking on this journey.
If you are drawn to learn more about sacred tattoos you can order a copy of the book here: Spiritual Skin
It is also available in Kindle format here: Spiritual Skin
I always add shading and detail to the drawings so that you can get a taste of what it might look like tattooed when details come together. But usually tattoo drawings by artists are done in just the simple outline of the piece and the details come together during the inking process…but this gives a reference to assist the tattoo artist and it helps you to envision the possibilities.
What’s So Important About Art Class?
I agree with Segmation’s feelings about the “amazing benefits of Art Class”. To add, I believe it’s also important in the cultivation of creativity, in general, to foster the imagination, help us stay connected to our inner child, let go of judgments and rules, to explore unlimited possibilities, cultivate playfulness, self-expression, give our feelings a voice, help move energy through us, empower our uniqueness, keep harmony within our Chakras, and the list goes on!
Thank you to Segmation for sharing this valuable post and reminding us to honor teachers on this day, May 5th – National Teacher’s Day.
I would also like to take a moment to honor two teachers in my own life that just so happen not only to share this day of May 5th, but were/and continue to be guiding forces in my own cultivation of creative self-expression and more.
Today would have been Gaia, my sweet Russian Tortoise’s 12th Earthly birthday and today was also the day seven years ago that I received Nestor’s ashes, my beautiful rabbit soul companion.
Here’s to boundless creativity and love, celebration of the creative arts, and honor for the teachers in our lives – art and beyond!

Nature Inspirations
Yesterday, we ventured out to to look at something exciting – more on that another time – but while out this particular way it felt like a great opportunity to get some different nature time in. We just so happened to be near Lake Arrowhead so the lake and mountain forests it was!
After checking out Lake Arrowhead I discovered that Lake Gregory, which was just a bit away from it, had a really nice 2.5 mile trail around the perimeter of the lake and that was really what we were going for. Lake Arrowhead, while lovely, is a private lake so there’s only a small area you can actually be by the lake where the village is.
So after checking it out and also venturing a little off-road into a forested area, Lake Gregory it was. And so happy we did, as it truly is a beautiful area and wonderful easy hike with gorgeous surroundings and lots of wildlife. Even a pair of Osprey were dancing in the air together above the lake and making their calls to one another.
Anyway, it was perfect and just what I needed. Made me miss Lake Tahoe too.
I thought I’d share these magickal images (with a lot of Faery energy dancing through them) from the day so that you can soak up some inspiration and energy from them, as well as to support you through the Full Moon intensities.
Full Moon in Scorpio blessings to you as you work with the energies of deep intimacy and transformation, feeling like something’s gotta give/happen, stripping away things that don’t support or fortify you, and going further into your inner world and underworld of emotions and psychic depths – all in a time of acceleration to a whole new level, as well as coming to full ends before rebirthing. It’s time to empty yourself to only your truth and embrace those fears that present themselves.
May 2015 Energy Forecast with Lee Harris
Here’s Lee with May’s Energy Forecast – his final broadcast from Boulder, Colorado before his San Francisco move – that shares about the need for personal attention to support your heightened sensitivities right now.
What do you need to support yourself? Make sure to monitor your energy and how you’re creating balance with what you need…enough space…enough tribe/community…enough quiet and nature…enough connection. You would do good to monitor yourself and be extra present to these energy fluctuations.
Your own inner needs are essential to have met.
Don’t try to be positive or to leave your dark side at home….be authentic…be present….communicate what you’re feeling both the difficult and easy…be you!
Giving people a headline of where you’re at so others understand you more helps both the non-sensitive and sensitive to have a clearer connection to the energy you’re feeling. This doesn’t mean to give all the details of your life, but just sharing that you’re going through some struggles right now.
If you’re alive, you’re growing, so don’t judge yourself along the way when you move through a wide gamut of feelings. Get good at just noticing and managing your stress levels, and understanding your personal processes without attachment or judgment.
This and more in Lee’s share:
