Enchanted Encounter: Rattlesnake Medicine Crosses My Path

It was another beautiful weekend here with time immersed in nature hiking. This weekend I hiked 12 miles total with 8 of those miles being today. I also got some work done, had some fun outings, visited the Natural Products Expo West, and got errands accomplished for the week as well. It’s amazing how productive I am and more fulfilled because of the efforts I’ve made to make sure I’m balancing my life and intentfully giving myself the grounding and recharging time with Mother Nature.
Right now I’m feeling revitalized after the day’s enlivening hike and activities, a nice refreshing shower, and a little treat of vegan raw chocolate, as I sit here to share this post. 😉 As I was just sharing with a friend, I always believe in quality not quantity and that even just a few intentful minutes or a 1/2 hour spent in nature or doing something totally self nurturing makes a difference and is invaluable.
Today was a clear day at the Pacific Ridge Trailhead, the fields and hills were lush and green, the skies blue, the flowers starting to bloom, the sun warm, and the breeze nice and cool on my sun-kissed skin. The hike took us on a climb of about 900 feet and at the top there is a beautiful camp site point with benches overlooking the vista. On days like today, you can clearly see Catalina across the Pacific and while sitting there taking the view in, I also clearly heard a sea lion at the coast. Amazing!
But the highlight of today was being enchanted by a little Snake Medicine. Miss Rattlesnake decided to cross my path on the incline up the hill. This is actually the first time I’ve seen a rattlesnake in nature, which I found to be auspicious given we are in the Year of the Snake. I’ve seen a few snakes on some of my travels and while living in Sedona, but never here in California or on any of my hikes. So this truly was a magickal treat!
I was so excited and without fear, as I love snakes. Interestingly, just a minute before seeing her, I had seen a twisted branch in the path that looked like a coiled rattlesnake in its pre-striking mode and had thought, wow that looks just like a snake from afar, until I came upon it and saw it for what it was. Then directly after, I see a long patterned curvy branch ahead and said, gee that looks like a snake again, but this time it actually was. Seems the first sighting I had consciously observed in awareness, was a little message of what was up ahead and speaks to how we can learn to read signs.
She (the rattlesnake) was lovely (although my not so good photos don’t reveal her beauty) and seemed to be enjoying the beautiful day and sunshine just as we were, and the other people hiking today. On a journey of her own, she was intent on peacefully crossing the path into the brush, but had stopped long enough to allow our energetic encounter. Right at the end, just as she had fully crossed the path and was going over a hump to descend the hill, she gave a little rattle of her tail, which felt to be a mutual acknowledgment and I chimed back with a resounding, “thank you, it was a pleasure to connect with you too.”
Interestingly, just after reaching her, three young women had approached from the other side of the path and had stopped in fear and were backing up and ready to turn around the other way saying there’s no way they’re going that way. But miss Tania had slowly and respectfully gotten closer, about 6 to 10 feet away at different intervals of traversing the path, to connect with her some more.
I found it an interesting experience of how people approach life that was perfectly being demonstrated at opposite sides of the snake.
The three girls were on her right, which would be linked with the left brain and more analytical and mental side, and I was on her left, which is linked with the right brain and more intuitive, feeling and creative side. The way we each either reacted, or responded, was exactly corresponding to where we were standing, both symbolically and literally. This made me ponder how we have a choice to approach life with fear or with love and when we learn to embrace things that seem scary as a shadow aspect of our own nature, we instantly perform transmutational alchemy that will shift our entire experience into wholeness.
Now that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t take precautions and act wisely, nor does it negate that people have legitimate fears that could use some nurtured healing. However, if we find ourselves up against similar fear-induced situations that hold us back from the very things we want or that would support our growth to achieve what we want, then perhaps there is something worth taking a look at in our process that could make a difference.
I found that the powerful snake medicine shared with me today was another beautiful gift that reminded me of the sweet man on the Chinese New Year who happened to see my snake tattoo and then came over to me to give me a red envelope of two gold $1 coins for an abundant year.

Snakes symbolize transmutation, cycles, rebirth, resurrection, patience, wisdom, fertility, creation energy, eternity, connection to the shadow worlds, secret knowledge, pointed focus, assertive power, primordial life force, search for balance, cunning, intuition, awareness, initiation, healing, intellect, protection, solemnity, rejuvenation, transformation, the hidden or occult, knowledge, male/female duality, and kundalini energy.
Snake totem is the power of creation and embodies immortality and psychic energy. The snake has fire energy which translate emotionally as: charisma, intellect, power and the intellect, spiritually as: connection with Spirit, wisdom, wholeness and understanding, and physically as: vitality and passion.
2013 is the Year of the Black Water Snake. Changeability, mobility, and dynamism are the Water characteristics that the Black Snake will embody. The reigning color is black, which is the color of deep waters, space, and abyss and hence will carry the creation, visionary, and imagination energies, as well as the energy of the emotions, unconscious, spiritual focus in life, dedication to quiet introspection, interest in understanding the underlying meanings and mechanics of life, flowing, and pooling your resources together in readiness and strength so you are ready to make a move forward when opportunities present themselves.
This heralds a year of unexpected changes abound and the need for cautious, careful planning, while remaining as flexible and versatile as you can (like the Snake) in order to flow with the changes and strike at opportune and aligned moments. If you are able to ride the transformative waves by embracing the energies present, you can aid a return to balance and harmony, which this collective #6 year is about, rather than get caught in the imbalances and inconstancy that will be brought in with the Snake year – all to help you evolve and learn to “be” the energy of Water, which shifts in chameleon-like ways.
In summary, some other things the energy of the year will bring includes a time for deep transformation and healing, major out-of-the-blue changes, a time for reflection, going within, and withdrawing rather than being involved in tons of social situations, in order to focus on steady, methodical progress, details and serious responsiblity.
This will also be a time for “shedding” the very deep-rooted old in order to release and begin anew, realizing that hidden aspects may surface for your gentle integration. Having all of your senses on conscious-awareness-high-volume will aid you in not being taken by surprise, as well as assist in understanding the perfection of the unfolding. This is a great year for physical healing of the body as well as moving into a more spiritual way of life, if you haven’t already. Or, you will start integrating more of this into your life in deeper ways – having it become your way of being, rather than a novelty or side focus.
Seems like things continue to kick off with some potent energy this year! I’m really enjoying the journey of 2013 so far and the amazing things that are unfolding.
Interview with Jewelry Designer, Reiki Master Teacher & Soon-To-Be Yoga Teacher Allison Jacobson: The Holistic Journey of a Philly Girl Who Followed Her Heart
Today we continue with another inside look at one of the courageous souls forging the way by following their passions. I love sharing little snippets of “real life” people that are embracing their fears and blossoming into beautiful leader examples, each in their own unique way, for others to find inspiration to do the same.
And one such story comes to us from the lovely Allison Jacobson, whom many of you have known as my Joyful Earth Crystals partner and very dear friend. You’ve heard me share about her through the work we’ve created together, but this post is all about miss Allison and her personal journey. In light of the many transitions that have taken place for her, mirroring the natural evolution of both of our work focuses, it felt to be the perfect time to give you a little insight into her experiences in today’s short interview sharing.
A Little Background On How I Met Allison:
Allison and I met a couple of years ago when she first landed in So Cal. Our journeys collided at a local vegan meetup and the rest was history from there. It seemed we were destined to cross paths for the next evolutionary phase in each of our lives. Meeting both her and her husband, Chris, has been a blessing and I am deeply grateful that we decided to show up for one another when we did. What a gift they both are to the world.
It wasn’t long after our meeting that we combined forces in creating crystal healing jewelry together, that she embraced the path of a Reiki Master Teacher, and even got her first very potent sacred tattoo, among other things. Allison is definitely one of those get ‘er done people on a fast track to empowerment.
We’ve been through a lot in a very short time and during that process I’ve had the pleasure of watching her grow and blossom in many ways, which has been wonderful to witness. I’m really proud of her courage and the beauty she is creating, and equally grateful for her supportive love. It’s like a whole new butterfly emerging from the cocoon and about to take flight, both literally and symbolically, as she and Chris will soon be off to the next destination their life paths are leading them on – Kauai. But I’ll let Allison share about that in the interview.
One of the things I’ve loved most about Allison is her determined eagerness to embrace as much as she can and her openness to new things. She has always been inquisitive and curious, which I feel is a most powerful part of the evolutionary process, and has always been focused on keeping things light and playful – another very important quality that is priceless. We’ve shared many a laugh and tear and through it all have grown in leaps from all that we’ve mirrored for learning. She is an ever-giving soul with lots to give!

Allison’s design work, both in jewelry and graphic arts is uniquely beautiful. She has an eye for simple elegance and coupled with her conscious life choices, she creates impactfully. It’s been fun to watch all of her gifts come to surface through following her heart and trusting to come to Cali, which ended up providing a more mirroring and nurturing environment that supported this flourishing of her awaiting talents.
Through our supportive connection we have been able to learn how valuable co-creation is, how we each have special gifts that blend well with others in service, and how when you embrace the journey that is presented with your heart, you’ll be led to the perfect experiences that will support your evolution, where ever that may lead.

I am honored to have been able to train her to her Reiki Master Teacher level, as well as her husband in Reiki 1 and 2. (It’s exciting to know that she will be gifting her husband his own RMT training soon – a creative force couple they will be!) But moreso, I am honored to be able to call her my friend.
It’s wonderful to be part of her life and see the amazing changes that continue to take place. One of these changes, which has evolved in our following our hearts, will be in her focusing on her own unique and beautiful line of Yoga-inspired jewelry under a name that is reflective of her (she’ll share more on that below). The journey has led both myself and Allison to new ventures that mirror our personal evolution and transitioning service focuses. Transitions like this are powerfully beautiful to me, as it demonstrates that all parts are integral to the continually evolving journey itself. You may not know exactly where you will be led and you don’t even have to see the end result, yet as you hold the essence of what brings you joy and allow your heart to guide you, it will take you exactly where you need to be. Allison has been been a beautiful example of how embracing each step will lead to a more empowered you.

For now, Joyful Earth Crystals remains until Allison settles in her new home, so that in the meantime some of her own beautiful creations can continue to be available at the current etsy shop until we transition it. My own involvement with crystals has led me on a journey I’ll share another time.
I will dearly miss her not being at arm’s length, physically, but know that connections like ours transcend distance and now our wings can spread across the ocean in connective flight of shared service to the collective. I’m excited to see where her journey will take her next and what new developments she’ll have to share with us. I see a bright future of unlimited possibilities.

A Philly native, Allison is a high-raw vegan, jewelry designer, graphic designer, Reiki Master Teacher and soon-to-be Yoga Teacher. She currently lives in Huntington Beach, California, but in less than two months will be calling Kauai her new home. A Short Interview with Allison Jacobson:
Tania: How has your life changed since moving to California and how has that shaped the path you are on now?
Allison: Moving to California has been an amazing and enlightening experience of growth and expansion. In just over two years, I’ve learned and experienced so many new and exciting things and met so many amazing people who have truly enriched my life and brought me closer to discovering my soul’s true purpose. I knew that I needed to move here, but didn’t really have any concrete reasons for the move (beside the weather and sunshine!). I just knew that it was where I had to be. (Luckily, Chris – my husband – felt the same way!) I’ve always been one to follow my heart and instincts when it came to moving, and it has always been fun to look back and see clearly why each move had to happen, even though at the time, I didn’t have a clue as to its true importance. My journey has taken me from my hometown of Philadelphia to Indianapolis to Minneapolis to Huntington Beach… next stop Kauai!
Tania: Please share a little about what your passions in life are and how those translate into the work you do and are working towards?
Allison: I am extremely passionate about holistic health and wellness, including yoga, meditation, Reiki and being plant-based. My passions also include animals (especially my two cats, Charlie and Sadie!), the environment and crystals! My passions all come back to a place of wanting to support and help bring overall healing to others, in mind, body and spirit. I envision all of these passions uniting together quite strongly in the future to bring a full spectrum of wellness and support to many!
Tania: Can you please explain your evolving journey briefly with spiritual and healing arts and what led you to embrace not only these, but becoming vegan?

Allison: I do feel that this journey officially began when I became vegan back in 2009. As I was questioning where our food comes from and why, I read and learned as much as I possibly could and came to the understanding that the animals that we eat are sentient, loving beings with feelings, friends and families, and are beautiful souls just the same as you and me. It was clear to me that going forward I would be vegan for life, as the understanding of the unity of all beings began to become clearer to me. Things came even more into focus when we moved to California where I now understand that I needed to be to continue to awaken and connect with those who could support my journey into consciousness (especially you, for which I am eternally grateful!).
Tania: What do you enjoy about designing crystal jewelry and how has your work evolved from the time you first created jewelry, started designing for Joyful Earth Crystals, and then transitioned into your own new line of focus?

Allison: I had dabbled in creating jewelry several times throughout my life, taking classes here and there and eventually losing interest again. I was only ever creating costume jewelry, more for fun than anything else. It wasn’t until I received some serious nudges from several angles (lol!) while living here that my true passion for crystal jewelry came into focus. Designing for Joyful Earth Crystals helped me to integrate my passion for healing with my passion for crystals and design! Being able to create supportive and healing jewelry for our amazing clients has truly been a gift. My passion for yoga and meditation has shifted my creations as of late into more yoga-inspired pieces which I absolutely love creating. I feel that my jewelry will continue to evolve after our move to Kauai next month, and will bring some amazing new super-charged creations to light!
Tania: You also do lovely graphic design. Can you share a little about what you enjoy most as a graphic designer and what kind of projects you find most fulfilling and why?
Allison: Thank you!! I went to Drexel University where I earned my degree in graphic design, then worked in advertising and marketing for several years. Eventually, design in the corporate world left me feeling unfulfilled and I started to look for something new to ignite my passion. In the last few years, I have rediscovered my love for design, working on some really creative and exciting freelance projects. I absolutely love supporting conscious businesses with advertising and marketing as they strive to really make a positive impact on the world we live in.
Tania: What do you find most fulfilling and valuable in practicing Reiki and what do you hope to impart to your students?
Allison: Reiki is such an amazing gift, a limitless, powerful gift that can support anyone, anything, anywhere at any time. Reiki gives us the ability to channel the unlimited potent energies of the universe for anything we need help with, specific healing purposes, support of personal goals and really any possible situation you could come up with that needs support. I love how infused my daily life has become with this energy and I hope that my students will feel empowered by the gift of Reiki and understand that they can tap into this energy to manifest, heal and support anything for themselves or others.

Tania: What drives your passion behind becoming a yoga teacher and what do you envision for your practice?
Allison: I’ve been practicing yoga off and on for years and always thought of yoga as solely a physical practice that kept people in great shape. In the last couple of years I discovered that yoga is much more than that, and through my studies, I now understand that it is really a way of life. Asanas (or poses) are just a fraction of what yoga really is. Yoga has shifted so much for me personally and is an amazing gift that everyone can benefit from. I have been drawn to restorative and gentle yoga for healing, stress-reduction and its potent health benefits and want to share that with the world. My goal is to make yoga accessible for all and incorporate it into my portfolio of healing modalities. I have had some very inspiring teachers here in California who were a major influence in starting my training to become a teacher. My goal is to teach yoga that will help people to reconnect with their true essence, relieve stress and anxiety, support healing and find peace within that is so essential to a happy, healthy life!
Tania: What advice would you give someone who is on the fence about following their passions and feeling anxiety over their fears and insecurities?
Allison: It can be super scary to take a big step, get out of your comfort zone and follow your dreams and passions. My advice would be to trust your instincts, be aware of all of the little nudges that come your way (they eventually turn into big nudges if you ignore the little ones – one way or another, the universe gets your attention) and follow your heart. Timing is everything and everything truly does happen for a reason. We are divinely guided along our true path but finding our way usually means getting out of our own way, listening to our heart and not our ego. I also have a powerful support team, and each member of that team has come into my life at all of the perfect times and have helped to council me along the way. It can be so helpful to bounce things off of others and confirm what your instincts are telling you. Simply ask the universe for help, and help will come your way.
Tania: What inspires you and the work you feel guided to share?
Allison: I am so inspired by limitless beauty of nature, the continuous discoveries and ah-ha moments along this journey and the beautiful souls who I am blessed and grateful to have crossed paths with. Being able to support others along their journey is such a wonderful inspiration for me and continues to fuel my passion for healing and gives me the courage and drive to continue along this path.
Tania: Last year you also got your first (and might I say boldly beautiful) sacred tattoo, followed shortly with another smaller one. I say boldly, as many end up with something small the first go around, so this was a courageous move I know you processed through. What drew you to get it when you did, and what if anything did you find yourself moving through in terms of beliefs and feelings that supported you’re being ready now to do so, and so “boldly”? 😉
Allison: My intention, as you know, was to get a small tattoo on the inside of my wrist. It was a conservative size and in a spot that was not very visible. 
I was definitely playing it safe. I’ve always had these programmed voices in my head saying that “tattoos are trashy” and “tattoos don’t look nice on professional people” and “people are going to judge you if you get a tattoo” which are thoughts that I think a lot of us are programmed with. I had wanted a tattoo for more than twenty years, but I always let the worry of what other people would think prevent me from moving forward. There was definitely a lot of processing that I had to go through to get to the point of having the courage to get a tattoo initially, and then to have it grow exponentially in size really pushed me beyond my limits. It was time for me to really come into my own, shake off the programming and begin a new phase of my life. The symbolism and meaning behind my tattoo is so powerful, the whole experience was completely transformational. And the reaction to my tattoo by 99% of the people who have seen it think it’s absolutely gorgeous. And I LOVE it as well, so I thank you and James, my dynamic creative team who made this work of art possible. Can’t wait for the next one!
Tania: I know that another synchronous move is upon you. Would you like to share about your upcoming transition with your husband to Kauai, what you have done to manifest and embrace the big move, what calls you there, and what you envision for yourselves?
Allison: I’m just so excited! In less than two months, Chris and I will be living on Kauai. We visited the island back in September, my first time and Chris’ third, I think. It honestly felt more like home to me than anywhere I’ve ever visited. I knew a couple days into the trip that we should (and would) seriously consider moving there. As I said before, I always follow my heart and intuition when it comes to moving, and it just felt like the perfect thing to do. So, we set our sights on Kauai, trusted that everything would fall into place, and really haven’t looked back! Everything has been magically flowing so we feel absolutely blessed in this process. I am so looking forward to being bathed in the magical energy of the island each and every day, beginning to teach yoga, really connecting with nature and spending as much time outside as possible. There are so many adventures in store for us there – I can’t wait to experience them all!
Tania: Can you share one vulnerable thing or greatest fear that not many know about you, but would find solace in knowing they are not alone in experiencing, and your advice?
Allison: I am definitely your typical “type A” personality, very much a perfectionist and therefore have very high standards, most of all for myself! I am working really hard on that, being kinder and gentler with myself and honestly really learning to truly love myself. I think we are all critical of ourselves in different ways, especially as women. There are these “ideals” that we’ve been programmed to believe, about how we should look, how we should act and how we should feel. I’ve written about it a couple times lately in my blog, very much for my own benefit as well as others. Loving yourself first and fully, celebrating your own uniqueness and beauty, knowing you are perfect just the way you are and always being willing to forgive yourself – these are things that are so essential to our happiness and our ability to love others. I’ve been using Louise Hay’s powerful affirmations, in combination with dōTERRA essential oils, meditation, crystals and Reiki to work through a lot of this and am blasting through these layers and loving myself more fully and completely than ever before.
Tania: How about one unique, crazy, or quirky thing about you that makes you uniquely and beautifully you, loved by those near and dear, and that you’re proud to embrace?
Allison: I am definitely a total goofball. I’m always cracking ridiculous jokes and finding ways to make people laugh (I have my Dad’s sense of humor for sure). I love bringing light and laughter to serious situations, because we truly are here to have fun!
Tania: Life is an endless shifting journey of stepping stones, which you have definitely demonstrated in your listening to and following. From where you are at this moment, what are your dreams and visions for your work?
Allison: I am focused on supporting more and more people by bringing wellness and healing into their lives by continuing to share all of the healing modalities that I am passionate about, including Reiki, crystal jewelry, essential oils and yoga. I’ve also had visions of hosting yoga and wellness retreats on Kauai. The possibilities are limitless and so exciting!

The Crystal Journey Continues with a Septarian Cosmic Egg
As I’ve been mentioning a lot, large quantities of time spent in nature, with my animal companions, and my crystal friends has been a staple for my daily practice of mindful balance and self-nurturing. I’ve noticed that things feel very flowy, yet stable to me right now and like I’m in my home element with all of the powerful Piscean energies abound AND both because and inspite of the Mercury Retrograde. Perhaps my embracing more of my own nature, listening only to myself as guidance, and slowing down has assisted this, but I am grateful that things aren’t feeling heavy to me currently, so I can be of better service to others when needed.
I’ve found myself having very full dream time the last couple of days and a lot of things processing, to the point of being very vocal again during my sleep, and I’ve been hearing a lot of interesting sounds around. I’ve also noticed my little ones have been very active too – Gaia back to her marching even though its winter still, exploring the entire house, and spending tons of time under my desk transmitting energy waves by the computer processing unit – and Joy being very active with the crystals in my studio, as well as very anxiously enthusiastic about assisting with everything including my Reiki class this week, which was fun to see despite her chewing my Reiki manuals.
Last night when I went to feed her, which is always met with crazed excitement, an interesting thing happened. I gave her her tablespoon of timothy hay pellets and she went after it right away as usual. I then left to do some things and came back only a couple minutes later and found her not at her bowl. I figured, she must have eaten it all already, but wow that was even faster than normal.
However, she was over by my giant Lemurian Seed Crystal named Chamuel, for he channels this Archangel, instead. She was sitting up straight and like a statue, with her head cocked oddly and this strange look on her face that I’ve seen before when she goes into trance. She was just inches from the crystal and I immediately went over with the first gut instinct that she was channeling information and talking with Chamuel. She didn’t move in any way when I approached her and even when I kissed her, she stayed with glazed eyes and head cocked. I said to her, “You’re talking with Chamuel aren’t you?” and I knew in my heart the answer, so I put my hand on Chamuel and I kissed Joy.
There was a moment right before this that I had wondered if she was ok because she wasn’t moving and knowing she had eaten her food really fast. Since rabbits can get digestive issues easily, I’m always mindful of this. But having glanced over at her bowl and seeing that it wasn’t even half touched yet, I knew for sure she had gotten called over to Chamuel in the midst of her eating and it must have been important, as NOTHING takes her away from her food until it’s gone. Never does she leave food for any reason.
I thought to myself, perhaps when I had left she had gone to do work thinking she could do it privately, but then I came back unexpectedly and had been witness to her channeling. So I left her with Chamuel, not wanting to interrupt, and went to finish what I was doing for a couple of minutes and when I walked by the room again, she was back at her bowl finishing her food.
I continually find her lately doing a lot of strangely interesting things (just like Nestor), moreso than usual, and a lot of times it is with the crystals that she loves, as she is quite the little crystal worker. I have a shelf in my studio that has crystals in it and she goes onto the bottom one a lot and will pull out crystals sometimes and will put her paws and nose in there and do her thing, moving crystals about and intimately connecting. She’s coming more and more into her magickal self, just like Nestor (oh the magickal stories I could share), and demonstrating what a strong partner she is in the work we are facilitating. The two of us are heavily working together and she has become a strong supportive ally in all of our service.
Like Joy, I keep listening to which of my crystal friends “call” to me and I will then hold them in my lap, sleep with them under my pillow, hold them in hand while I teach or communicate, and channel with them for healing work and writing. This has been profoundly supportive to recognize and embrace this partnership and co-creation energy that is so beautifully mirroring of where we are at. I do the same with my little ones – honoring, listening to, and involving them in my work – as well as welcome it in aligned and resonating ways with other co-creative endeavors.
It’s apparent that Joy’s “upped” work with crystals has mirrored my own with needing “new energy” crystals to assist in my evolution. These have included the powerful Andaras I’ve spoken of, the various Quartz I had gotten with my birthday coupon in Reno, and most recently, a new crystal gift that also came into my life in conjunction with another birthday coupon from my favorite local metaphysical shop. They sent me a coupon and then after I received their newsletter on new crystal collections they had. When I looked at the list of crystal names, one jumped out at me immediately that I’d never heard of, but there was resonation with it big time, not even having a visual to go by – just a name (I learned later how perfect its energy and properties were in mirror for me). The very faery, psychic woman that assisted me in the store was enchanted that I was drawn to these particular stones, saying she has one herself and assured me I will so enjoy working with her and will simply LOVE her. I said, “I already do.”
Once again, I felt the Universe was supporting me with all these divine alignments and gifts and so with gratitude I embraced them.
This new friend is called “Septarian,” and it comes to me in a “Cosmic Egg” shape!
I have never had an egg-shaped stone, nor had ever been draw to one, but when it called out to me amidst a few other Septarian pieces I thought to myself, how amazingly perfect is this? The symbolism of this egg for all the new energy I’m birthing in reflection of the collective and in the new leg of my journey felt very much encapsulated in this “egg” shape. And what could be more fitting to also connect me with my magickal friends, Nestor and Joy, and their own reflections of the “Cosmic Egg” symbolism?
As written in my blog, Hare Symbolism for the New Earth – Birthing the Cosmic Egg:
Traditionally, the Easter Bunny, actually a Hare, was said to lay eggs at Easter. This concept is of course very strange to our factual minds, but taken symbolically, the Egg is not only Potential, but it also represents the Cosmos, the very ground of Being from which we spring–no pun intended! One only need think about the Cosmic Egg and the Druid’s Egg to begin to get the full scope of this meaning. No wonder then that the Hare was at one time considered both male and female. To produce the cosmos, both must be present.
There was something very magickal about this egg and I felt very close and nurturing of it from the moment I saw it and drove it home with me, in my lap (I found out later in researching properties why I love having this stone close at hand, as you’ll read below). It now sits atop a wooden stand right in front of me – its pedestal – when I am not holding and working with it. I have only been resonating with crystals I can hold easily and bring with me anywhere. I DO understand how Joy feels with wanting to get her “paws” on all of these special friends. It is definitely one way I have been able to keep balanced, grounded, and to work at higher frequencies that are more resonating, at the same time.
I thought I’d share a little about my Septarian friend and her energies (oh how I love that name! sounds so earthy-extraterrestrial) in case, like myself, this is a new friend to you too. What I especially love about her (besides her beautiful energy) is the small opening on the front of her that creates portal access to journey through. It also is like the hatching of creation into being. Amazing!
Septarian is a geode that is a combination of yellow calcite, brown aragonite, grey limestone and white/clear barite, which means it diversely carries properties of each. Deposits of this unusual stone have been found in England, Spain, Madagascar, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
These stones formed around 50 million years ago, with liquid filled with mineral matter being deposited into fissures, and then solidifying like concrete in these fissures, called concretions. That is why Septarian is called a “concretion” stone, but I also loved that it is sometimes called Dragonstone. So now along with my magickal dragon tattoo, I feel my cosmic dragon egg has birthed forth. 😉 Things are definitely evolving.

“Septarians were formed during the Cretaceous Period, around 50 to 70 million years ago. Sea levels were much higher then and the Gulf of Mexico reached inland to Southern Utah where many of the Septarian nodules are found. They are also found in Madagascar where conditions were similar. Periodic volcanic eruptions killed the smaller sea life which sank to the sea bed and started decomposing. The minerals in the shells and carcasses attracted sea floor sediments which accumulated around the carcasses and formed nodules or mud balls. When the ocean eventually receded, the mud balls dried out and began to shrink and crack into the beautiful patterns that you see inside the Septarian nodules. Over the eons, calcite leeched down into the cracks and formed calcite crystals which grew to fill the cracks. The interface between the calcite and the bentonite clay transformed into aragonite which is the dark brown crystal layer. The bentonite mud was eventually replaced with limestone which completed the transformation of the entire nodule to stone. This is truly a magificent piece of artwork from mother nature. ”
Septarian brings abundant emotional calming energies that have a nurturing feel to them, as well as are spiritually uplifting and joy-infusing. They are great for overall health and well being, enhance and nurture communication with groups (making it easier to speak clearly and compassionately in these settings), support communication with Mother Earth, and bring unconscious foreknowledge needed to keep you always prepared for what is coming. Concretions are very protective and provide shielding and grounding of the physical, mental and emotional bodies while regulating spiritual, mental and physical courage.
Septarian provide energy for merging with and amplifying your energies, help you determine which direction to go, and is said to be a speaking stone that enhances all levels of communication. They LOVE to be held and emanate an energy pattern of sincere, loving kindness that is magnetic. (I knew there was reason I felt so drawn to nurture my little friend like a roosting bird with her Cosmic Egg) 🙂
Septarian is connected to the three lower chakras (there we go again with a lot of grounding resonance to integrate things with) and is used for healing of the blood and kidneys, as well as strengthen teeth, bones, and muscles. Synchronously, they resonate a very strong Earth energy that will help connect you to the Devic kingdom and their powerful Shamanic influence will strengthen group activities and response. These stones help strengthen the vibration of drumming and chanting circles, enhance the closeness of the group, and provide stronger focus on the task at hand.
Being a communication stone they resonate strongly within the throat chakra and assist any public speaking focuses. Conversely, they are also helpful in maintaining privacy, as they seem to dispel unhealthy personal interest in you from others if that is something you desire and value support with.
With such grounding and Earthy energy, they are are also very strong healing stones that assist in self-healing, flexibility, and flow (especially mentally) as well as connecting with higher truths. They will also help you when you are unsure about how to approach a treatment when assisting someone or yourself.
While you might be able to find it in jewelry form, it is extremely beneficial to keep one in your pocket, moreso, so it resonates with your aura continually. If kept in and around your immediate environment, their energy will benefit this sacred space.
In meditation they help you receive answers, help you with deeper insights into your healing work and to know what procedures to take in terms of your client’s healing, help to enhance your psychic powers in seeing the spiritual truth and root cause, help protect from psychic attack, and in general will support you to be more at peace and centered in your life.
I love my little Septarian Cosmic Egg and I have a feeling she will be a staple partner for me in much to come, as she already has made a huge impact on my vibrational life.
Women and Tattoos: An Historically Symbolic Evolution of the Divine Female
Synchronously, this recent article (1/16/13) from The New Yorker was shared with me by someone who admires my work on the same day this week that I was a guest on Culture Freedom Radio’s Mind Magick with Lady Dee discussing sacred tattoos – the topic being Spiritual Tattoos for Transformation and Empowerment. The message of empowerment and freedom of self-expression in ways that symbolically have meaning and purpose (with effects both personally and collectively) seemed to be the shared thread in both my own message and what stood out to me most in the article.
The short article is titled, “A Secret History of Women and Tattoo,” by Maria Lokke and focuses on the thriving tattoo culture, especially among women, stating that:
“In fact, 2012 was the first year in which more women than men were tattooed in the U.S (twenty-three per cent of women, compared with nineteen per cent of men).”
Couple this statistical fact with a recent survey that revealed 1/3 of the people getting tattoos choose designs reflecting their spiritual or religious beliefs (especially so among first-timers) and we find how it all points to the new paradigm of awakening into our Divine Wholeness rapidly spreading.
Sacred tattoos are just one of the many choices we can choose from to do this that supports freedom of self-expression best mirroring our authenticity.
I did not find the higher percentage of women-getting-tattooed statistic to be surprising, as it actually made a lot of sense to me given my experience so far with helping clients in the co-creation of their own sacred tattoos, plus the fact that it mirrored the shifting frequencies into embracing the re-awakening of the Divine Female and conversely, the Divine Male in direct correlation to this return.
The true male is as engaged with the Divine Feminine return while they activate their own female energy within themselves into balanced partnership and empowerment. I have seen this in the work I’ve been assisting with my male clients’ sacred tattoos and how they are truly tapping into this inner dance of harmony. The new designs are all being created with rich symbolic representations of how each of my clients are empowering their Divine Female and Male into integration at this juncture on their life journey – a beautiful manifestation of the new energy we are in.
The new male is not threatened or in fear of the awakening female, but rather is embracing full support of this transition as he becomes aware of how the old programming is holding him back from his divinity. Equally so, the new female is empowering these repressed parts into full beauty and glory, without need to hide her Divinity.
Needless to say, I have been moved deeply from witnessing the transformational experiences shared by my female clients with their sacred tattoos that have assisted exponential leaps in their empowerment.
Maria Lokke goes on to share in her article:
“Tattoos appeal to contemporary women both as emblems of empowerment in an era of feminist gains and as badges of self-determination at a time when controversies about abortion rights, date rape, and sexual harassment have made them think hard about who controls their bodies—and why.” As we approach the fortieth anniversary of Roe v. Wade, this observation is especially resonant.
Symbolically poignant in supporting how I had come to discover the healing power of sacred tattoos to transcend the personal and become collective.
Maria Lokke’s article highlights author Margot Mifflin’s work in her 1997 book (with a third edition release on 1/15/13), “Bodies of Subversion: A Secret History of Women and Tattoo,” which examines this trend in a cultural, image-rich, history of tattooed women and female tattoo artists through the ages and examines the evolution of the tattoo culture in the last fifteen years.

March 2013 Energy Forecast with Lee Harris – Opening to Your Multi-Dimensionality
We’re moving speedily along with this year and along with us catching up with timelessness, we are also speedily moving through a ton all at once. I just finished teaching a beautiful Reiki 2 class and synchronously the topics that Lee Harris shares in this month’s energy forecast were EXACTLY the topics we were discussing today and that I was supporting, and exactly things I have recognized shifting in my own life. So when I just listened to Lee’s insights I was nodding my head and smiling at the collective shared pool we all draw and receive from.
If you’ve been feeling challenged by the current energies and wondering how to support yourself through your experiences at present, then this forecast will resonate with you and offer different perspectives that can help to shift your reality and to help you be more gentle with yourself along the process. Lee also offers a good physical re-grounding and centering exercise that would make a good daily practice to keep you balanced, present, and help you integrate your experiences.
Below you’ll find Lee’s video forecast that weaves together these key things for greater understanding. I always like to note important points he makes, so you have something to go back to that triggers a reminder:
- ‘Awake’ is a key word this month. How awake are you feeling recently?
- Rapid filtering is an experience we are all in right now.
- …regardless of what you are choosing to focus on, we’re all in the surrender of this filtering and upgrading process.
- …symptoms repeat and cycle through us. But what you should notice is that you should be changing through your experience of the symptoms.
- So if you feel long-term stuck, then it is likely that you are stuck. The question is what do you do with being stuck? And I know for many of you, what you would do with being ‘stuck’ is to beat yourself up and question what is wrong. Try and see that now as the old paradigm.
- It’s not about forcing yourself to change or kicking yourself because you’re not changing as fast as you’d like. It’s actually just allowing the possibility of change and not letting the voice in your head tell you what is or isn’t happening. Because, that voice in your head is very small – very, very small.
- The reason many are vacating their minds now, is that it is very over stimulating up there. We’re opening more into multi-dimensionality as people, and so what’s happening is our mind is revolving faster than ever before with great intensity through a process of filtering, organizing and assessing what is going on in us and for us.
- So what I would ask you guys to do is to allow yourself to release the stuckness. And all you need to do to begin this process is to say “I allow myself to release this.”
- Physical illness is slightly different to feeling emotionally or psychologically stuck. It’s not immutable, but it’s a slower process. The body is slower in general than your energy field, your thoughts, your emotions. And once something has become embedded in the body, it can take time to work through the physical healing process. So if you are physically ill, don’t beat yourself up and see that as a failing. That’s what you’re choosing to experience right now in the bigger form of life – the soul perspective.
- Here is the caveat though: if you find yourself saying “I just want to change everything about my life, I just want to change myself.” Why, is the question you have to ask yourself? Because what is wrong with you? You’re a beautiful human being doing the best you can every single day to have the best life that you are able to within your circumstances. While also giving what you can to those around you, honoring those relationships and being part of the wheel of life on this beautiful and sometimes crazy, volatile planet.
- So be good to yourself.
- Remember too, that most of the methods of stimulation around us, whether it is the internet, the media, or anything that is informational, uses words to convey energy. It’s time that you decide for yourself what each piece of information is energetically telling/sending you. What are you ingesting and how does it feel?
- If you can simply learn to trust what’s happening in you in your life, you will naturally go through your own spiral of evolution and keep expanding.
- And this can be tricky sometimes, because it may mean that certain things you previously judged yourself for, you will now be asked to not judge yourself for. And that is often for many of us the final doorway before release.
- You may want to say inside your mind, “I love myself, I love this world.”
- In March, keep slowing down; keep slowing your life down. Keep going as slow as you possibly can. If hearing that suggestion makes you scared, recognize adrenaline and fear is driving some of your speed. And deal with calming or moving the fear/adrenaline to lose the power in the fear thought. If my suggestion makes you feel delighted, good – keep slowing down.
- The month of March is going to be very much about this – stabilizing and grounding yourself in order to create. The second half of March my instincts tell me is going to be intense in a way that we haven’t experienced in the last few weeks. And the sense around that is externals in our world will be the focus of the intensity.
- That is why the multi-dimensional self is now starting to become more aware of everything going on at the edges of (and beyond) your energy field, rather than just this localized self. Awakening the localized or ‘smaller’ self involves resolving and purging parts of yourself that you took on, or compressed, in response to other experiences. And until that awakening happens, the multi-dimensional self can’t fully open.
- Just keep breathing everybody. The new-world birth continues and you can look at it in a long-range way and you can say we are in a shift and you can see years ahead and you can see years back. Or like the birds, you could find yourself, in any single moment, experiencing the sensory nature of your life and reawakening those inner senses, so as to reawaken your multi-dimensional self.

* Atlantis Vortex option: We will take a boat to the Atlantis Vortex, an area approx 40 miles from Bimini in the Atlantic Ocean, part of the Bermuda Triangle where many mysteries have occurred. Jenny Yemaya last visited the Vortex 12 years ago and had a deeply moving experience and recollection of Atlantis and its destruction. It is believed that the power crystal of Atlantis is beneath the waves in this area. We experienced all equipment breaking down on the boat and the compass spinning randomly. It is an energy field of immense proportions where we will meditate and work with the new waves of information and consciousness being brought forth to assist our transition as we head through 2013 and our higher vibratory selves.
This is an intense journey and one to be made with an open and responsible heart. If in the event weather does not permit us to journey to the Atlantis Vortex on the Summer Solstice, the entire group will take the dolphin excursion together and the difference of the two trips will be refunded back to you. Our boat journeys are always in alignment with Mother Nature and we do our best, while embracing her natural rhythms and the safety of our guests.

Your Investment Into You:
We have two different packages available for the three different accommodation options. One of the package options is for the people who choose to be part of the Atlantis Vortex boat trip and the other package option is for the people who choose to have the extra dolphin excursion day for Summer Solstice. Where does your heart feel called?
Deposit to hold your retreat space, book your Summer Solstice Atlantis Vortex trip, and charter flight seat is $935 per person.
Full balance is due 35 days prior to retreat start date. We can take late bookings up to one week before start date at latest, but any booking within a month of the trip will require full payment at time of booking.

* Guests choosing to stay at Bimini Bay will need to hire their own golf carts for transport between The ARC and the resort. Golf carts can be hired for around $90 per day. Or, it is about a 20 minute walk to and from The ARC if you choose to do so.
What’s NOT included:
- Roundtrip charter flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Bimini, Bahamas and back – $285 (to be booked through us at time of registering to ensure arrival as a group for our first dolphing trip) – price includes Bahamian Entrance and Departure Tax to and from Bimini
- Getting yourself to Florida – roundtrip flight to and from Florida – either Ft. Lauderdale or Miami
- One night at a hotel of your choice on Saturday June 15th unless you opt for a red eye
- Transport from your hotel or the International airport (if you take a red-eye) to the Executive airport to catch your charter to Bimini on the 16th and transport to International airport to head home upon arrival back to Florida on the 22nd – option to have shuttle arranged for you at $12 per person, each way, with notice
- $5 total per person for taxi and water taxi to and from the ARC from the Bimini airport
- Daily golf cart hire for anyone staying at Bimini Bay to commute to and from the ARC approx $90 a day
We recommend guests arrive in Ft. Lauderdale the day before (June 15th) and spend a night at a hotel on the beach (we recommend the Bahia Mar, but there are many options to suit your needs and budgets), as we fly out on the charter flight early on the 16th. You can also opt to take a red-eye, but will need to make sure that your arrival is very early in order to ensure not to miss your charter flight – charter flights will begin around 8:30 am. Guests arrive mid-morning on Sunday 16th with time to get situated, relax, have lunch and then set off on our first dolphin trip of the retreat. On Saturday the 22nd, we finish at lunch time so you can catch the charter flight back to Florida.
Arrival on the 16th in Bimini needs to be no later than 11.30am, as we go out on the boat for our first dolphin swim after lunch on the first day. For this reason we don’t recommend getting your own flight to and from Bimini, as you will miss all of this.
Booking a United Airlines flight will have you arriving mid-afternoon. This is why we have included the charter flight in the inclusive price to make things easier and stress-free on your end and to ensure you do not miss out on a major portion of the first day’s retreat, including missing the first dolphin trip out. The charter flight option means a lower group rate, 6 full days on the island, and all details handled by someone else so you can focus on enjoying the journey. 
Itinerary: Guests are always welcome to spend their time as they wish, and none of the activities are mandatory
Sunday 6/16: Arrival, lunch, orientation and first dolphin trip of retreat
From Monday to Thursday 6/17 – 6/20, the days will run as follows:
Yoga – 8:00am (or optional morning to sleep in or relax beach side)
Breakfast – 9:15am
Reiki with Tania – 10.15 am – 12:15 pm
Lunch – 12.30 – 1.30
Dolphin Trip – after lunch until Sunset Dinner – 8:00pm
Friday 12/21: Weather permitting, we will celebrate the Summer Solstice with a sunrise meditation. This will be a day of connection and deep energetic work as our group ventures off to the Atlantis Vortex to work with and anchor the energies.
Saturday 12/22: Our last day together as a new family pod, concluding with breakfast, preparations for leaving, lunch and then bitter sweet departure.
* Everything is optional, although we encourage you to participate in order to get the most from your group experience.You may decide to have a day on the island, shopping at the straw market, boutiques, visiting the beaches or hanging out with a book at the pool.
We aim to immerse you in an environment that supports you, wherever you are on your journey.
Accommodations:
We like to provide options that meet different needs and budgets so the week’s pricing is tiered to accommodate. The ARC is for people happy to share dormitory style accommodations (there are 2 separate sex dorms) in adult sized comfortable bunks with shared bathrooms. We highly recommend this experience, as it can be very conducive to the overall heart-opening and connective energy we create on these retreats. Our experience in running retreats has proved that this can lead to a deeper sense of a communal living experience with deep and bonding new friendships formed. The center has the best sunrise views overlooking the bay and is two minutes from the best beach on the island with stunning sunsets. 
The style of The ARC is beach chic. We have outdoor and indoor dining overlooking the bay. For those happy to pay more for private 5* accommodations and en-suite facilities, we have an arrangement for special rates with our neighboring resort, Bimini Bay, in either private studios for 1 or 2 people, or condos with 1 and 2 bedrooms. 
* The ARC does have wi-fi and there is high speed internet at Bimini Bay as well if you need it, however we highly encourage the journey to be one of switching off from everyday life as much as possible, as truly a way to be in the experience and to go within – a time of nurturing and letting go and to be in our hearts away from everything. Please take advantage of this time away from daily distractions and over-stimulation, as you will get the most of this experience and find yourself more than over-flowing with priceless, blissful, and heart-stimulating experiences. 
Dolphin Trips:
There is a very good chance that we may have a wonderful new addition to our dolphin trips to celebrate for the first time, which would include the amazing Captain Mark and his 45 ft. solar powered, reverse osmosis water catamaran, “Stray Cat” to potentially be moored with us at The ARC for our use this year with our dolphin retreats. 
We’ll have confirmation soon, but if not we are lucky to work with an experienced, fun and responsible captain – Captain Al, whom we enjoyed very much on our last journey in December. Through years of data collection, our captain has terrific odds of finding the dolphins at the times when they are most playful. While we can never guarantee dolphins, we feel that we can give you the best chances of having the dolphin interaction you are looking for. 
Our vision is to provide a meditative and joyful environment to experience the dolphins. Like any wilderness excursion it is important that it be undertaken with awareness and sensitivity. All staff are educated and experienced in the practice of ‘minimal intrusion’. Our intention is always to connect with the dolphins with respect and awareness. We do not feed, chase or do anything that might disrupt their natural behavior. Only at the dolphins’ invitation do we interact with them. It’s a small group, so you are assured the best possible dolphin interaction. You will receive personal facilitation and support.
Reiki with Tania Marie:
Tania Marie is a Reiki Master Teacher and intuitive healer who has taught this healing art to many students from around the world. She is also a skilled, experienced practitioner who has lovingly supported countless people globally with healing and empowerment and regularly uses Reiki in her own life to achieve desired intentions. Tania is also a visionary artist, designer, author of Spiritual Skin, world traveler and owner of Emerald Bridge. 
During this retreat you will have the chance to immerse in one week of transformational experiences through Tania’s loving support that will lead you to greater sense of self, clarity, empowerment, peace, joy, and deeper love and compassion. The focus is on learning, sharing, supporting and expanding your heart through Reiki (pronounced ray-key). The practice of channeling Reiki is an easy-to-learn, gentle and powerful system of natural healing that reduces stress, induces relaxation, supports intentions and provides many other healing benefits. The Reiki classes offered are part of the Traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Certification Training. 
You will be trained, initiated, and certified in Reiki Level 1 during this week, as well as enjoy practicing with the group, receiving valuable insights and personal attention, have access to Tania’s unique insights and energy, as well as participate in global and personal healing intentions and sessions. Optional Extra Indulgences:
- Group excursion to the healing hole fountain of youth about $40-45 pp can be arranged, tide permitting, is an option for one of the mornings in place of the other scheduled activities.
- Kayaking on the bay can be arranged for you if you desire.
- Golf carts are the preferred method of transport on the island and can be hired (about $90 a day). Alternatively, taxis run up and down the Kings Highway and cost $6 each way.
- Spending money if you would like to visit the straw market or local shops for souvenirs
- Massage is available for 1 hour slots. You can sign up for these, optionally, when you arrive.
- Tania is available for private Reiki sessions – $50 for a Reiki Healing Attunement or $85 for a 1 hour Reiki Session
- Sound healing and nutritional/herbal counseling and some other healing modalities are also available upon request.
- Optional travel insurance – There is a possibility of hurricanes in that area, and if the trip was cancelled due to a natural disaster, you may want to make sure you are covered.

Nature is Poetry to the Heart & Guidance Back to You
This is just a short post reminder of how vital Mother Nature and our connection to her is to the quality of our lives. Every day I am in awe of the miracles abound and how my life shifts optimally when I am in communion with the natural.
Inspired by this stunning rose (from a bouquet my parents sent me for my birthday) that took my breath away this morning with its reflection of All That Is, the mineral-gritty richness of the dirt I hiked yesterday in the hills above the ocean, the ocean’s aroma that consumed my soul, and silken refreshing slippers of water she bathed my feet in thereafter, I felt guided to share these few thoughts and quotes in hope that they may touch and move you in some way to bring more of nature into your own life.
The most valuable thing to me is to be authentic and to follow where my heart leads. In doing so it leads me to a deeper sense of peace and back to being in flow with the rhythms of nature and the natural. Days like yesterday (which I plan to enjoy again today on a bike ride) spent in nature’s serenity is priceless. Nature is a powerful teacher to understanding life, who you are, and your connection to everything, not to mention, enriches your entire experience.
Taking some time each day to be still, present, patient, aware, in your heart, and to breathe in the magick will change your life in abundant ways. And, in that presence and miracle of nature embrace, you will come closer to the nature of you. ♥
