Moon Magick & Rebirthing
For the past month my birthday keeps popping up on the clock, so alongside the portal times like 11:11, 1:11, 2:22, 3:33, 4:44 and 5:55, my birthday – 2:26 – has now taken over prime sighting spot, which feels to be a confirmation and activation of rebirthing. This continued last night when I woke up at 2:26 am to find the Full Moon’s light beaming brightly through the front windows above and across the fresh field of possibilities that is our current home view, calling me to sit up on the dashboard and set intentions since it was only an hour away from the Moon reaching its fullest at 3:27 am. And after, I was compelled to take some photos, which turned out quite interesting, as well as were halted by my camera shutting itself off. I thought it was the batteries, but in the morning when I woke up to check it, it was working again. I then returned to bed, but on my way back I saw that the Moon was sending a beam of light onto Cosmo in his safe haven under the table too.
The photos throughout this post are from last night’s Moon – no flash used – and taken in succession.
We’re in our new home of Elk Island National Park, which is about 2 hours from Saskatchewan (our next adventure).
The weather is beautiful and sunshine abound, which created a refreshing and lovely day of exploring on our first hike.
We encountered more magickal animal friends without skipping a beat, picking right up again where we left off before our 3 day city touch-in.
I’ll share the animals along with our time here in Elk Island after the week comes to closure, but I will say that snowshoe hare magick was the first to greet us, with a long connecting time with me, as she allowed me to get quite close. And then she reappeared at the end of the hike at the same place, since it was a big 6+ mile loop.
Rabbit and Moon magick – it doesn’t get much better for me personally. Well, except when you add in the great gray owl that swooped across our path too. 😉 It was a day of enchanting woodland connections for sure, as you’ll see soon.
For now, I’m just embracing the calm serenity I feel since we arrived here with only the sound of wind rustling in the quaking aspen surrounding us.
The field of dreams we are looking out upon, which is golden and green in the sunlight, feels like a place to create anew as we desire. It feels like a place of rest, renewal, and watering of intentions that are made here.
So when the Moon beckoned me last night to awake at the time of personal rebirthing – 2:26 – I took its hand and embraced the welcome into this portal of potentials.
Here are some words about the energy right now that resonates with what I’ve been feeling and sharing, from intuitive astrologer, Sarah Varcas:
“Practice not allowing anything to stick in your energy field. Visualize it as flowing water, rushing wind. See its constant motion.
By identifying with the trials of life, buying into their drama instead of claiming our freedom, we create substance where movement should be, calcifying thoughts and feelings unnecessarily. Recognizing and reversing this process is key to profound and lasting change.
The mind is both our liberator and our jailer now. If we allow it to oppress us with demands for ever greater ‘proof’ of this or that, evermore detail to justify what we know instinctively to be true, we will tie ourselves in mental knots that drain our energy and produce no useful outcomes.
But if we can expand our mind to embrace possibilities previously discounted, to consider life from new angles, we could experience liberation like never before.
The veils between the egoic and higher minds are paper thin now and we can break through so easily, with just the slightest effort, if we choose.
However we feel at this juncture, we can rest assured there are new perspectives just waiting to be seen, something we simply haven’t perceived about our situation which can revolutionize the path ahead.
We may, however, be too distracted to take ourselves in hand. An accumulation of stress and anxiety, despair or depression – even the tedious boredom of a life lived in black and white – can all keep us from recognizing the power of the present moment and the alchemical force unleashed when we live it fully and without regret.
We may have invested too much energy in anticipation of an ideal future when everything magically falls into place, not realizing the magic is us, living on purpose, with clear intent and for the greater good right now.
This Moon has little time for fears and failings, excuses and justifications. It simply wants us to get a grip and move ahead by arriving fully in the present, with our power intact and our resolve firm and clear.
If we find ourselves resistant at this Moon, wrestling with external pressures that threaten to change our course, discernment is vital.
We cannot and do not live apart from the world and must attend always to the constant feedback loop which occurs between us and our environment both near and far.
Sometimes we must stand firm in the face of external pressures. At other times those very pressures are the touch of the divine reminding us we may be losing our way, drifting off track or blind to something we cannot afford to ignore.
If resistance energizes and clarifies intent, it is probably keeping us on track. If it drains us and destroys our peace, distracting from positive action which could blow the cobwebs away, we may well be resisting the very thing that will set us free.
Beware the seduction of certainty in the face of current confusion. It can only ever be a thin veneer atop an infinitely complex existence beyond anyone’s power to fully understand.
Knowing it’s okay not to know, being at peace with paradox, embracing with an open heart all insights gleaned, even that we’ve been wrong all along.”
