I Haven’t Forgotten the Way, Have You?

Faery light – taken at the Getty gardens

“There is such a place as fairyland – but only children can find the way to it. And they do not know that it is fairyland until they have grown so old that they forget the way. One bitter day, when they seek it and cannot find it, they realize what they have lost; and that is the tragedy of life. On that day the gates of Eden are shut behind them and the age of gold is over. Henceforth they must dwell in the common light of common day. Only a few, who remain children at heart, can ever find that fair, lost path again; and blessed are they above mortals. They, and only they, can bring us tidings from that dear country where we once sojourned and from which we must evermore be exiles. The world calls them its singers and poets and artists and story-tellers; but they are just people who have never forgotten the way to fairyland.” ~L.M. Montgomery, The Story Girl

  1. Oh, I love this sooo much!!! 🙂

  2. Mari Braveheart-Dances

I think it’s life beneath the cracks. Life under the surface. Life is magickal. I had a magickal childhood, and it has carried with me ever since. Faerie Land is everywhere. Like Peter Pan and Wendy, I intend to live in Neverland forever. It is a happy, awesome place. These are beautiful pictures. How I love them all! – Faerie Light is a funny phenomenon. I experienced it most recently as I was very sick. For two days, I drifted in a land of childhood – and experienced the feeling of complete love and security. All was well. I drifted in a space where I was back there, and the mists felt so beautiful and wonderful. Clearly, the faery, light beings were present, as dust sparkling on sunbeams. As in your faery light at Getty Gardens. It looks surreal, Tania. How special to receive this sharing!

    • mari, i’m sorry to hear of your not feeling well. sounds like you were surrounded in support, love, and nurturing from the other realms that you hold so dear.

i love that you are still connected to the child that always does and always will believe…something we share indeed.

much love to you. i’m happy this came at another synchronous time to connect with. <3

  3. Thank you for the reminder that beauty is abundant everywhere and in our hearts….

  4. I’d wouldn’t say, “Evermore be exiles.” This sounds like a part of heaven. We will return, and sadly leave it again.
