Feeding Your Soul With Inner Peace
Today, day two in the 21-Day Mantra Meditation Journey with Deva Premal and Miten, the focus was on “Inner Peace” – Om Shanti Om. (you can still sign up at the link to join in)
It’s about feeding the soul with that state of harmony that can carry you through anything – even in the midst of chaos you remain calm, centered, balanced, and at peace.
There are many ways you might also create this peace within, with different things that feed your soul, but carrying this Mantra is definitely one powerful way you can instantly reprogram things from the inside out.
What ways do you feed your soul? Make it a priority to nourish and cultivate inner peace in the way you resonate with. Even if it is just for five minutes a day, it will do you huge benefit. There is nothing that pressing in the world that can’t wait. Rushing anything won’t make things work any better, and might even create more challenge or make you miss out on better opportunities.
Some of the other things, besides Mantras, that feed my soul are the ocean, nature, my beautiful animal companions, and music.
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace. ~Kate Chopin
Yesterday I had the opportunity to explore a new beach area with a dear friend I have known for maybe three years, but met in person for the first time. You
may remember him – Cliff Durfee – from a past post I shared about his book, “Stories for the Inner Ear.” (I’ve been seeing themes around connections coming full circle lately, as we are lighting up and igniting energies through these meetings that trigger shifts in one another)
After a year or so of intending to get together, time aligned for yesterday and with it came Moonlight Beach, Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage and Meditation Gardens, and some vegan treats for lunch at Lotus Cafe and Juice Bar. I even had the chance to connect with Sweetie Bird, Cliff’s sweet little yellow parakeet,
reminding me of my own little parakeets I used to have – one named Sweetie and one named Iris.
It was an extremely peace-filled day of stillness and being with the gentle nature surrounding the day and each other. I always see animals in each person I meet and Cliff reminded me of “tortoise energy” – it’s no wonder he loves these beings and has a tortoise collection. 🙂
It was a day of “Inner Peace” indeed and I continue to carry this through today, aided by the beautiful Mantra meditation gift of the journey.
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. ~Jacques Cousteau
I thought rather than share a lot today, as I’m not feeling tons of words, I would share some of yesterday’s beautiful vistas (the outer peace) from the Self Realization Fellowship Gardens and Moonlight Beach, as you enjoy this magical underwater video set to “So Much Magnificence” by Miten with Deva Premal (the inner peace) – creating wholeness within and without.
Namaste
My life is like a stroll upon the beach, as near the ocean’s edge as I can go. ~Henry David Thoreau
