Christmas Magick and Warmth for the Eternal Child
I’m nestled into my parents home now for the rest of the week, enjoying catching up with the family, receiving nurturing with good rest, food, laughs, sharing, and a lot of Christmas magick.
The way to my room is up a staircase that is lined by Santas and Nutcrackers (including my first Nutcracker from when I danced as Clara in the Nutcracker ballet as a child) that greet you along the way. I was even tucked into my cozy bed, which my mom warmed up for me, by the whole family!! LOL!
I’m grateful to have a family that loves me so and grateful to be surrounded by the enchantment of childhood innocence and wonder with all of the beautiful decorations my parents enjoy putting up for the holiday.
As I shared before, I am an eternal child-at-heart that loves the sparkly magick, crisp air, white winter wonderlands, smell of pine needles, holiday spices, and wood fireplaces burning, despite not being a big holiday celebrator. And I’m getting a lot of that between my time at Lake Tahoe and now here at Christmas faeryland with the family.
I thought I’d share some of the magick here with all of you, perhaps tickling the child within, as it does for me. My parents DO love decorating and these are just SOME of the lovely sweetness (and my favorites) you’ll find gracing the halls and rooms at Christmas time here.
Right now I smell sweet cinnamon pears baking in the oven and my mouth is watering for one of the vegan apple dumplings my dad made just for me, which calls for breakfast!!
Believe
It’s one of those times of the year that reminds you to connect with your inner child, to dream and believe, to see through eyes and hearts of wonder, share your love with everyone in peace and harmony, recognize the beauty in and around you, and to brightly shine your light from the truth of your heart.
For me, this is every day because I still “hear the bell.”
If you’re wondering what that means, it comes from The Polar Express, which I was watching again last night. In the movie, adults, and even children, who don’t believe can’t hear the magick Christmas bells. It only rings for all who DO believe. And for these people, the magick is never lost.
Yesterday I spent the day working, which included creating a special design for a client that embodies so much of the new energy collectively being birthed, and then spent my evening making 2 desserts for today’s Christmas celebration, and making a Christmas Eve feast and dessert for last evening, while watching The Polar Express. Even Joy, whose birthday it was yesterday, was part of the magick of the evening, coming to sit by the fireplace we had on and watching with us. She even got to enjoy her own little dessert, which was a strawberry I gave her for a birthday surprise.
And while I didn’t have the day off, even cooking and baking all night, it was still filled with magick because I see everything that way. I find all the little special things in everything, that might be hidden by others. And whenever I catch myself feeling stressed, I am able to ease that anxiety by stepping back and reminding myself of the choices I made and the magick within everything I’m experiencing, regardless of how it looks or feels, and the meaning that can assist me in making changes of growth.
People may look at me weird, and they might even get frustrated that I have no explanation to satisfy their desire for proof when I share emphatically what I believe without waiver of trust, in the things that I do.
And that is perfect with me, because I don’t owe any explanations for why I am happy and having fun. And I’m also happy to jump on the train without knowing where it’s going because the power of my belief will always see me safely to exactly where I need to be, likely with a lot of fun surprises along the way.
And guess what? The destinations are where we begin again…
Who wants to know every little detail of what is going to happen anyway? If you knew that, there’d be no fun in living. Life is an experience and if you can trust in your heart and believe in things beyond your mind’s explanation, then you will experience the kind of stuff your dreams are made of and the reasons for your decision to incarnate here.
You always hear people say “I’ll believe it when I see it,” but I’ve always believed as Wayne Dyer shares, “You’ll see it when you believe it.”
There is so much power in this shift of perspective, as there always is with anything when you make a slight adjustment in your way of perceiving it.
I’ll leave you today with my two favorite quotes from the Polar Express:
“At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I’ve grown old, the bell still rings for me, as it does for all who truly believe.”
“One thing about trains: It doesn’t matter where they’re goin’. What matters is deciding to get on.”
Do you still hear the bell? I do.
Wishing everyone a magickal day, however you celebrate, and I hope that your heart opens a little bit more to the possibilities and your imagination expands a little bit more to bring those possibilities into being.
Here is one of my favorite songs that’s from The Polar Express. The first video has clips from the movie. The second has the lyrics, as I feel when you see, and sing the words yourself, it has more impact. It doesn’t matter if you celebrate Christmas or not, and it’s not about “just” any certain day of the year either. The meaning of the words is valuable all year long.
The Spirit of “Joy” and Christmas Magick – Celebrations of the Heart
Having just returned on 12/22 from our amazing journey in the powerful energies of Bimini at The ARC – Atlantis Rejuvenation Center – I can think of no better way to integrate the energies than to immerse in the magick of Christmas Eve.
I will be sharing my feelings and experiences about our journey this week (as much as I possibly can, as the experience leaves one speechless), in Bimini and over 12/21/12, but for now am settling in, integrating, experiencing overflowing love and gratitude, and being very present with the beauty of today.
Not only is today, or rather this evening, one of my most cherished nights of the year (if not my favorite), but this day also holds a very special and precious place in my heart because it shares a celebration of the birth of my dear soul companion, Joy.
Today is sweet Joy’s birthday. She celebrates 9 years of this Earthly life’s cycle. Joy carries with her the energy of purity, joyous love, gentle power, tenderness, serene wisdom, and childlike laughter and wonder.
Happy Birthday my beautiful precious Jewel of the Nile (aka Tiny, Jules, and Bubbles). Joy’s full name is Joy Julianna, which is where Jules comes from and Jewel.
According to an ancient Sardinian legend, the bodies of those who are born on Christmas Eve will never dissolve into dust but are preserved until the end of time. ~Grazia Deledda
Joy’s essence and love is eternally in my heart and soul 🙂 What a blessing she is to my life.
The energy of what Christmas Eve is all about SO mirrors Joy’s essence and what she brings to my life. Joy to the World indeed!!!
I have always had a soft spot for the Christmas season…the colorful twinkling lights, decorations, smells, trees, magickal animals, elves, Santa, snow, cozy fires, glowing candles, bright stars and starry nights, Christ Consciousness energy, and LOVE abound! It’s one of those times that reminds us of connecting with our inner child, to dream and believe, to see through eyes and hearts of wonder, share our love with everyone in peace and harmony, and recognize the beauty in and around us.
Sending love to each and every one of you at this joyous holiday season and much love and snuggly hugs to my beautiful Joy.
And here are some words to reflect on that I shared today on Facebook:
Christmas Eve was a night of song that wrapped itself about you like a shawl. But it warmed more than your body. It warmed your heart… filled it, too, with melody that would last forever. ~Bess Steeter Aldrich
May the loving melody of today resound eternally in your heart ♥
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer….~From Twas the Night Before Christmas
May you always believe, have the courage to dream, and may the Christmas Eve magic and child like wonder be with you all year round ♥
Today’s Daily Thought from Shakti Gawain’s Reflections in the Light: Daily Thoughts and Affirmations:
~ The spirit of giving ~
Take a few minutes to reflect on how you give of yourself to the world. Often we get caught up in the frenzy of buying and giving things. Look at the ways you give appreciation, friendship, energy, time, love, and affection, and give of your special talents and abilities throughout the year. Acknowledge yourself for having enriched the lives of others. Spend some time loving yourself for the giving light that you are.
I honor myself for all that I give.
Christ Consciousness is the growing human recognition and blending of the human evolutionary (or ego) mind with the Divine Mind and the Divine Personality that is the source of human happiness and fulfillment. This awareness accrues over time within the consciousness of human thinking when intention, attention, and openness is focused on knowing who and what is that “christed” state of being—that higher mindedness of enlightenment.
As this awareness in the human mind grows and strengthens, life becomes more liberated, joyful, peaceful, and love-dominated. The fear which creates isolation and despair begins to diminish in thought and feeling. You are free to live the life you were born to live — as a child of Spirit in a love-filled and supportive universe. ~Center for Christ Consciousness
