A Moment of Reverence Captured Between Tiger & Child

Taj Golden Bengal Tiger

A huge wave of love-filled chills came over me when I saw this image and then read the caption shared by my beautiful friend Kelly. This is such a sacred and potent moment that speaks volumes. I feel  huge reverence in overflow from this display.

The story:

A 370lb Golden Bengal Tiger bows its head and placed a paw up to the hand of a small girl. Photographer Dyrk Daniels says: “I noticed this little girl was leaning against the glass with both hands out stretched staring at the ‘big kitties’. I could not believe my eyes when Taj approached the girl, bowed his head and then placed his huge right paw exactly in front of where the little girl’s left hand was. It was incredible to watch. Taj let down his right paw, rubbed his cheek against the glass where the little girl’s face was and moved off.” Far from being scared, the little girl was so excited that she started clapping as she walked back towards her mother.

A Moment of Reverence

May I add, that I do not support zoos and caging animals. I feel there is absolutely no need for these and the sanctuaries that exist to house wild animals that have suffered from sad and horrible experiences, are there because of human interference with nature, and now as result are what we have in order to rehabilitate and provide some small sense of deserved sanctity to these sacred beings. So this post isn’t about addressing the fact that the tiger is captive, but about the sacred connection and relationship that we have with all of life, and how we can learn much from our animal friends.

Not only may this be a moment of reverence between two souls recognizing one another – not animal and human, but two divine souls – but it may also be a message of hope these souls in animal bodies are trying to get across to the children of the New Earth, as well as to any awakened soul that will listen to their pleas to return to natural harmony with Mother Nature.
