Blind Painter, Sargy Mann: Painting with Inner Vision

We are powerful beyond measure and have no limitations except the ones we agree to.

This is an incredibly story about professional artist, Sargy Mann, who developed cataracts at age 34/35, which then continued into complete retinal detachment and on to a perforated ulcer that then created total blindness. He didn’t know if he could continue painting, but wondered and began to experiment, experiencing extraordinary sensations and discovered there IS painting after blindness. He reinvented painting, just like he reinvented his life without sight.

Now, serious art collectors own his creations and his paintings sell for upward of $80,000.

Thank you Dawn for sharing this with me. Dawn remembered things I’ve written about my own eyesight, being legally blind for most of my life, and how I feel about my inner vision being of most value to me.

Being an artist myself, this story hits home, but in general I feel it shares how we can turn any perceived limitation into a powerful gift, and how life is about continual reinvention and creative renewal, as we embrace transformational shifts that impact our lives.

Tania Marie is a writer, visionary artist, Reiki Master Teacher, intuitive guide, and energy alchemist whose life and work have grown from more than three decades of exploring the creative healing arts, metaphysical studies, and the living relationship between nature, spirit, and the heart. Her practice has become less about what she does and more about how she lives—listening deeply, following what feels alive, and allowing creativity, healing, and everyday experience to become part of the art of being. She is the author of *Spiritual Skin* and creator of the 11-episode YouTube series *Talks With Crystal Skulls*. Her lifelong relationship with crystals and crystal skulls continues quietly behind the scenes, while her deep connection with rabbits has profoundly shaped the way she experiences presence, wonder, and the quiet language of the heart. Egypt has also become one of Tania's greatest teachers and a profound part of her ongoing journey of remembrance, empowerment, and embodied aliveness. Her relationship with the land has naturally grown into meaningful creative partnerships and opportunities to share its living wisdom with others. Today, Tania devotes much of her time to writing, photography, inspired offerings, sacred journeys, and following the ever-evolving invitations of a life lived in relationship with the living world.
