The Exquisite Adagio for Strings
We’ve been frequenting the Symphony lately here at the Orange County Pacific Symphony – a truly amazing venue. My most favorite piece to date has been Adagio for Strings. I remembered this piece from my past, but was grateful to have it renewed into my present experience, a couple of weeks ago, as this piece is exquisite to me. There are only certain pieces of music that have the ability to access that special resonance within me to move me in deeply profound ways. This is one of them. Having it back in my life is going to really be a powerful creative tool for me in my painting process. So excited.
Here is a beautiful video for the visual and feeling senses. It’s not the same as hearing it in person or owning it and playing it for yourself in your sacred space as you travel to uncharted depths of you. I hope you can find time to just “be” with this piece and “experience” it moving through you. For me, feeling the music in person and watching the depth of passion move through the orchestra was breathtaking, leaving me with chills and brought to swelling tears that I can only describe as the experience of a star liquefying into emanating crystalline love in response to cosmic embrace.
Adagio for Strings – Samuel Barber
This piece is masterful in its original version. But for the electronic dance music crowd here’s Tiesto’s Progressive House version that on its own will move you to dance from the depths of your soul:
