Regrowing Vegetables With a Little Magic & Patience

Haha, I have done this! The easiest to regrow are green onions. We had green onions all summer that way, and they eventually grew into big onions to use like regular white onions. In Madison, we successfully regrew celery and bok choy, but for some reason, those didn’t work here. Maybe I didn’t let the roots get long enough before planting, or maybe it was too sunny. We had a very shady yard in Madison. I’ve never had luck with Romaine, but that would be great! I hope you try this. It’s fun. 🙂 xoxo
cool to know! it does look fun and will be interesting to see what works for me or not. there likely are many factors and elements that make some work more than others, and as you said, likely even location and climate factors. will keep you posted. xoox!
You can also regrow sweet potatoes and plant them once the sprout leaves. They are related to morning glories, so sometimes quite pretty if you trellis them. They like droughts and actually produce more the worse the growing conditions — or so I have heard. I’m debating putting some in, untrellised in part of our back yard, just as a yummy ground cover. xoxo
i love me some sweet potatoes! sound like an easier and pretty veggie to grow. thanks for the info! xoox
